Hey majorj0nny,
Just happened to be browsing the thread and noticed you are Cerberus server. If you need help feel free to send me a tell if I'm on, my characters are Laura Bailey and Rebecca Oriane. Alternatively, you can stop by the Shadowwarriaz FC in Plot 6, Ward 2 of Gridania if you need help or a FC. We typically don't do leveling as most of the leadership is done w/ that, but we are a mostly social FC that can offer advice on most jobs and we have a few crafters to help you right your gear.

this is exactly my issue - there is an assumption in these dungeons that the reason Im doing stuff is to just be a dick .. or that Im an idiot or something. I never play as healer or tank ... tbh I wouldn't know how to decided to pick that as an option in the first place .. I just click the duty finder and select a dungeon - so far its mainly been the ones chucked up by the main storyline. and Ive tried to go with the flow. last night I thought we were doing well - then someone said "why don't you have any jewelry? ... why aint you a bard???" then some other abuse about me being the worse bard ever.... its frustrating when Its not something I intentionally meant to do.

There are lots of good people around and you can learn lots from them - the game has no real "manual" and much of what you learn is from other people's experience. I know how dispiriting the bad seeds can be and their impact is far more than their number. Just gotta learn to ignore them (hard as this can be), and also learn as much as you can from all the good folk around.

This right here is your best bet for some help. They'll be able able to set you up and in the right direction, not so sure you're getting the help needed here.

Because people have to learn somehow, no one started this game knowing exactly how to tank or how to heal, if everyone followed that mindset we wouldn't have seen a single healer or tank at launch, or the current queue times for low level dungeons would be 10x what they are right now, since only people leveling alts would be leveling tanks and healers.

We as old players should be the ones teaching those new tanks and healers how to play properly, not denying them the chance to try out a role that isn't faceroll easy as DPS.

I realized this in one dungeon when I was still wearing a silly lv 1 shirt ... ahhh ... so ... my thinking in this ... obviously wrong. but initially when I was stepping up my clothing as I got better defensive or magic defence - I noticed the jewelry was often very low ... or nothing.. so I just assumed it was for show .? but now I see a whole load of 'bonuses' so now I know I can take a look at that.

"ppl usually expect other ppl to .." is something I run into a LOT in this game ... this assumption that I should know all this stuff .. and abide by these expectations.

the multiple disciplines thing is something Im very new too also ... I only looked into becoming a bard when someone was confused as to why I wasn't one already ... something I was confused about myself. so I only leveled up to 15 PGL last week. I'll look into the same for lancer perhaps.

being a DPS in a dungeon, means that most of the time, if the others know their role, Healers should'nt even have to heal you most of the time, unless:
1. tank was not taking aggro on mobs
2. you pulled mobs from the tank, but looking at your gear, i find it hard to believe...
3. you were hit by every single AOE

so... it was not entirely your fault, I suppose xD
