Atma farming 850+ hours! Is it alright or this game is unfairly broken?

I would have zero problems farming atmas from mobs with this kind of RNG. I did solo Farming in Dynamis for currency, I farmed lizzards for a teleport scroll and I killed several thousand for it, I farmed leeches for my summoner stone and this had an even worse droprate. But you were not forced to synch to lower level to have chances on getting what you want. This is the only real problem I have with Atma farming, low level Fates suck as zenith swinging job :|

Atma's a pretty long grind. I've finally finished, and I actually am at the *long* end of the grind spectrum. I just shut the machine off and walked away for a few moments when I hit 1k fates. Luckily by that time I only had 2 left, and somehow those managed to drop shortly thereafter.

I just lost it. The grind was worth it, because I opened this thread, which led me to that gem. It's like no drg for party all over again.

RNG totally means some will be golden with luck while other are doomed to stay in limbo.

A game is supposed to be fun, 850+ hours is NOT enjoyable especially when those who got theirs in rub in your face.

Please devs, add a ceiling to the amount of FATE done without receiving an atma. (20? 30? 50?)

he hasnt done 850 hrs of fates, nobody has, he is a liar an a bad one at that, every single person who has posted here except you has figured that out already lol

I don't know what to say, I just finished my 3rd atma and got 8 in an hour..

If we start with zero data that is true, but I don't think it is quite a "fair" statement after data collection.

If one person gets them all in 10 hours and another in 40, clearly someone did more work than the other (I can believe a ~4-150 hour range, doing FATEs at a good speed).

The % chance is fair, but the mechanics of chances themselves are not fair. Only over very large sets of data do rates look fair for all players. So I suppose if everyone had to farm 10000 hours of Atma, you'd see very tight band of similar Atma results, but over short data sets it will be all over the place.

Upper limits on RNG would be fair. Personally I had a few that took a good chunk of a day and then a few that just dropped in straight succession, I would imagine my average hour per atma is actually not that bad, but those were my results. If SE doesnt have a safety net set then while unlikely it is possible for a person to just get steamroll trolled by a % system. That isn't fair imo.



(Not sure about this 850/under 1000 thing for OP though.. lol)

To be fair I'd imagine Atmas were easier to get on patch day due to the zerg on Fates. But now it takes roughly 5-6 Minutes to complete a fate solo. That's 1h40m-2h just to do twenty fates.. Yeesh.

My advice is to que up for something and while you wait just atma farm a bit. Or join an Atma party on PF, you'll get fates done quicker. Grab a Daily Hunt bill and Atma farm in places corresponding to those hunts. Won't feel like a complete waste of time then.

I'm on 25 Atmas so far.
Found 5 Atma of Ram in less than an hour helping my friend get his. =_=

I think more accurately they just either are fond of extreme exaggeration or outright lying. As others have shown it is clear theyhave spent nowhere near that much time working on atma.

The other thing is I would recommend people spend a lot less time researching atma strategies and other things that waste time. Just go out and run fates....a lot of them. It took me a week of play to get 12 (probably 15 hrs spent on fates). I know this is a lot less than some others have spent and there is an RNG component of course.....but in the end it boils down to just grinding through fates as fast as possible. It will never take 850 hours....
