What's with the Early Pull Brigade?

I'd say it's really SE's fault as it sucks to be a person on a slower computer/console when people early pull, I'm not excusing the incredibly rude things people say and do about early pullers.. just that if you've got the time it would be really helpful to some people.

I don't play on my slow computer when I want to do hunts, I can only imagine how terrifying it is to try and do hunts as a PS3 player and not be part of the finding group (being part of the finding group is the best plan if you load slow). I can think to say that the content wasn't designed for secondary players in mind, but I suppose you could counter that SE can't design with "what I would like to see" mechanics only and must also design to how players think and are, it was obvious people would like to be part of timed content that "can" (usually) support a lot of players. All player's issues are SE's issues. XD

Anyway.. You should report people threatening you- not waiting isn't overtly nice but being rude is clearly worse.

I did that once lol, we had already waited a few minutes but luckily no one seemed to care except for a few people in the group saying it would have been good to wait extra for the slow loaders. I said sorry, they said its ok - just trying to keep the server happy. Didn't think about ps3 and others till that event, so I tried it on my bad computer- hilarious trying to get any hunts done XD (highly ineffective, good gil waster though).

I've pulled, and soloed at least 50% of, an A Rank before and had zero grief for it.

At the same time, I've had your typical player tantrum for deciding to solo a B Rank, even after the update.

I find it best to do Hunts when the majority of the children are in bed or at school now. Hell, I enjoy the game a lot more in general at those times. Suppose that's a time zone limited option, though.

If you "face-pull" (accidentally running into something/getting too close before people are ready etc.) it's okay! People don't panic and "zerg" the monster on my server - at least not while I'm out hunting. They (TS&LS groups) just wait and let that person reset it, or let them get smashed then get them back up and proceed accordingly. There's no reason not to relax and let things get sorted out.

I get the "there are no early pulls they're just entitled" posts - but really stop and look at yourself! Your attitude is just as entitled when you pull something "early" because you can and that ends up preventing a chunk of fellow players from getting a chance at credit or limits their potential contribution. It undermines community and organization - which is really something you ought to be reinforcing and celebrating in a game that has very little content that you even have the option of working together on. Negative attitudes and harsh words only come from frustrated people & really is self-control all that hard?

This is oddly true for the most part. I find the optimal times to do hunts on my server to be between 12am and 12pm PDT. During this time people are generally friendlier, patient, understanding, and courteous. Once schools let out it becomes a no-holds-barred death match with nothing but instant pulls and the most abusive threats I've ever seen being flung back and forth.

From what I've seen, every pull is an early pull. There's always someone whining about it.

1) Self Entitlement
2) People want them over and done with, collecting the fast rewards for the little effort to get them. Either because they're easy or because people are tired of dungeons and raids.
3) Fear of competition. It just boggles my mind reactions to this. In all the other MMO's I've played, if a named monster spawns, the party that found it kills it and no one else thinks anything different. This is the first MMO I played where a server full of people will act like someone stole the last cookie on the plate in grade school over something so pointless.

Those players had every right to do what they did. By reacting the way you did, you only make yourself look bad, not them. I join Hunt PT's, I join the calls, wait, etc but I don't give a shit if someone "pulls early". If I'm there, I'm there. If I'm not, oh well, there will be another pop in another zone that I will get. They have every right to pull when they see it.

I think that's the main crux of it: we know when and where these things are going to pop. If you miss one, you will get the next, most likely.

And this is the issue a particular hunt LS on Balmung has created: They have an actual part of their forum which publicly shames people who "pull early", on purpose or otherwise. This is not OK, by any stretch of the imagination. This monopolizes hunts, because if you aren't with them, you're against them, and there goes your credit ever. I've outright spoken against Hunt LS' on this forum and finally gave up and played the way they wanted me to. That doesn't mean I will get mad or shame others who stick to their principles and play the way they feel is right.

If you are actually getting mad at something like this, you should seriously check yourself. It's irrational.

I think Balmung is one of the worst in terms of hunt community. It's not going to change until this content is obsoleted, and hopefully SE will have learned their lesson and leave hunts behind.

That and people, I dunno. So many times I get the impression they honestly believe once a monster is killed then that's it it will be wiped from the world forever and so will Allied marks and all the rewards with them in one weeks time. The monster will in fact spawn again. Its not going anywhere. I just don't understand it all all and maybe its just my age creeping up on me. A party kills a monster. No big deal, we congrats them on their win and we moved along like it was nothing. Even when games had open world raids we had nothing like this drama. The party or raid kills it, fine awesome congrats. it will spawn again

Then again this is largely the reason why I don't hunt. The rage over something so trivial that has been a part of MMO's since forever. Never in my life had I heard it called being self centered or sociopathy. ummm lol how? I'm with my friends and were having fun. Why am I to be little miss server obligation to everyone but my friends? Its just nothing like I ever heard of.
