Forcing the Loot Timer Down: Is This Harassment?

So, if the one who lotted need realized that the greeder actually would have better use for the item, he shouldn't be able to leave the instance to let the other guy get it instead.

And... As for the OP...
Considering you were spiritbonding and the healer actually sticked around to wait for you to get back after every disconnect, expecting the healer to let you get an item for glamour only is a little much.
Since you went with FC and only pugged the healer, the healer had no chance of actually kicking you and the only way he/she could have left was with penalty.
If there is any harassment in this case, it's the OP that stands for it.

its just using the timer other guy is in a rush and SOL.

Uhm I'm just going to mention did because no one else did but, if you DID disconnect the item wouldnt have automatically gone to him.

Did a hullbreak with my friend not too many moons ago. He dced and we killed the last boss, and everyone left the instance. A sherry droppes, and to my surprise even though it was me and my disconnected friend in the party, the item was not going to me. The loot timer was still clocking down as the server waited for my dced friend to roll on it.

Now if you dc for more than the loot timer stays active for, them thats another story.

Should of let the healer have it for being super patient. Instead you DC a lot, wasting his time, then have the nerve to come to the forums to complain he waited out a loot timer. Kinda makes OP sound like the real prick. Lol

who's to say the healer also wanted it for glamour. i mean its an ilvl80 chest most of us are gonna use it for glamour. its not really a good uograde when you can get ilvl 100 chest with sol, Cyrcus Tower new coil(110) and i90 chests in older coil or with myth. i would mention hunts but we all know people use those marks for sands of time.

To be honest with you OP, people intentionally forcing others to wait by letting the loot timer run out with no apparent reason, are jerks.
But still reporting them for doing this is stupid and useless.


I also want to add that given the context of your story, it was a smart move from that guy.
If i was him, knowing you could potentially get disconnected again, that you only wanted it for glamour and that i needed the piece as an upgrade for my PLD, i would have done the same.
Increasing chances to get the piece, its all what it was.

It was for glamour, so you should have rolled greed on it. You don't NEED to glamour stuff, you WANT to glamour stuff. I hate when people who clearly don't need gear roll need on it anyway.

Changing the timer to 60 seconds only for the last boss chest would be a great solution
