I have a feeling musketeer will end up being the class and corsair or something close will be the job. I also have a feeling it'll end up as a healer/support job and not another DPS.

DPS classes have to wait upwards of a half hour to get into a Duty Finder quest because everybody and their brother wants to be DPS. There are far more users who main DPS than Tank.
So what does Square do? The obvious thing, of course. Introduce a cool new DPS class! The people who have every job at lvl 50 and main Tank will certainly begin leveling Ninja to 50 from the day it's released.
Fewer tanks. Longer DF times. Thanks Square.
I will level it up just like every other class just so i can be a better tank.
ofcourse they introduce a dps first, its common sense
yes you want them to introduce tank first to lower your q-time a bit, but the majority of their players are dps, and what does a games company have to do to stay alive.. make the majority happy..
Does it really matter? People will get it to 50 in a week then go back to whatever their main is. Either play a different class for a week or do something else.
They already said in the e3 interviews that while there is a gun class coming and 1+ more jobs, that the timing is too early to reveal everything. They said the final lineup for classes & jobs being added would be announced in upcoming events, such as JP expo, gamescon and possibly even the October Fan Festival.
I'll Tank for People Levelling them.. and level it while someone else is Tanking for me... Being in a FC and Doing that is good... Yeah i Guess Roulette's gonna be a Pain but Still.
I'm hoping the gun class is a chemist or something like that. Another healer would be nice.
I agree this change seems fun in the short-term, but in the long term it is only going to make the dps ques longer and make it harder for dps to find raid groups in the scob. What they need is a new tank/healer class. I'll admit I don't find tanks or healers particularly fun; tanks mainly because it seems like you need to know a fight inside and out to be successful at it. I don't want to do a fight over and over again to learn when exactly I should press a certain move to decrease damage and I certainly don't like positioning bosses in some fights. It feels like I'm just a punching bag basically.
As for healer, that seems even less fun than tanking to me. It seems like you just spam click your party members on the party menu when you see some green drop and click mostly the same heal button over and over again, occasionally casting esuna when someone gets a status debuff or a aoe heal when needed.
