Raise II and Rebirth exclusive to Conjurer.. am I being pigeon holed as a White Mage?

I haven't seen any reports of the Armory system being "scrapped", only built upon. Classes are mostly for soloing, and Jobs geared for more strategic party play with defined roles.

If I had to guess, I'd would guess that conjurer would open the "Whitemage" job, but they also said that you may need combinations of different classes to open some jobs. "Blackmage" may very well end up being where you have to have a level x conjurer and a level x thm, so if that is the case you aren't "losing" any progress even. It also may be that thm ends up opening black mage in which case you just have more spells to work with while leveling thm right? Worst case, you won't really lose anything except your assumption that something would lead into something that it didn't. People are crying over spilled milk when the container hasn't even been opened or taken off the shelf yet.

Main point though is that until they say exactly what is what, there is no use getting upset over speculations nor doing that heavy of planning. Its all open to change, we aren't playing a finished product and we shouldn't act like we are.

I don't feel anyone being pigeon holed into being a WHM because people don't have to do the quest to open it if they don't want too. Also back around new years about 80% of the population who voted said that they would be fine with major changes to the game and system. So things are probably going to change... personally I have always felt CON was more of a WHM due to the spells CON has but I'll be fine with it going either way. If THAU ends up being WHM then I'll just level THAU, it's not a big deal.

I agree with OP. It doesn't make much sense to me to give the conjurer the high-level resurrect spells, since it is the thaumaturges, not the conjurers, who are seeking a means to bridge the gap between life and death. This new change to the battle/class system doesn't seem to fit well within the established mythos.

I mean, in this game world, the secrets of life and death are still unknown. Raise spells should be difficult to access, and really only accessible through the thaumaturge's guild at high ranks, as part of the guild story line.

What irks me aren't the changes themselves, but the incongruities they cause in the story.

Amoury system = Sucks

New Job system which lock 1 job to 1 class = Sucks

1) I wouldn't say the armory system is really being built upon. It's more like if you use the job you're covering your class with a sheet and poking holes in it for you to fight through. You gain new discipline from fighting through those holes, but you are unable to do some of the fancy tricks you knew before.

2) Just because you don't have to unlock or use the job on the class you like. doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to have a job to unlock and use that you enjoy. They need to make the game fair. Just like when we started we had several classes to choose from. Now we have all worked on those classes only to be told that the advanced filter for it may strip away pieces of the class you enjoyed and highlighted what you were sort of 'eh' about.

Except if the Famitsu fan translation is anything to go by there will be jobs unlocked by multiple classes. Also who's to say they can't release more classes to accommodate more jobs?

Again and again and again with the wild speculations. Why don't we wait until we KNOW how jobs work first?

They will most likely make more jobs, but if people do not enjoy the first batch of jobs, why would they wait around for the next? I think that the worry is the months it'll seemingly take to replace a job that someone doesn't care for on their class, would be too long and basically make the game not fun for them. I don't know if they should be implementing pieces that could possibly make players upset or not like a part of the game they did before in that manner.

Seeing as you can switch jobs on the fly I'm sure someone in your party has CON leveled to the point where they can change their jobs for raising. Anyhow, raise I is fine if you're trudging around and need a quick raise. Don't worry about pigeon holing right now, stats are being adjusting so you may be a better nuker.
