Not sure how to handle the new player hate.

Just move to an EU server. Seriously. There are american players there too.

I've played on four servers from the EU group and these things just don't happen there.

To the OP. As long as you are adequately geared for the fight you are ok. From your post, you are geared enough for the runs, just ignore those idiots that know nothing but speed running everything.

Sorry to say this to you, but that was your problem. You're doing 2.2 content as a very fresh 50. You may not know this, but currently Brayflox HM is the "go to" dungeon for 2.2 endgame farmers. You'll mostly see long timers in there. For fresh 50's, WP/AK is the starting place. Though I'd say, try to save up some gil and just get crafted i70 gear. Its crafting mats are bought with company seals now, which are easy to farm.

Actually, if you did enough sidequests on your first playthrough, many first 50's can save up to 150-200k gil. That's more than enough to get decently geared right away. That should get you started with Crystal Tower. Make your way to i80 and you'll be ready for Coil 1-5 (many coil PF parties ask for i80+ now). I believe this is the way to go, or else you'll run into complainers.

One thing you can try is changing how you respond. Right now you're taking everyone seriously. Instead only take people seriously who are helpful and have good attitudes.

If someone rages (at you or anyone really) about gear or just in general because they're unpleasant, tell them to stop. If they don't, kick them. If they don't get kicked, leave.

Even if you take a time penalty, it's worth it. If you don't tolerate rude people and won't associate with them, then you'll have a better gaming experience.

And yes DF can be a different experience pre 50 and 50. People who are still leveling up (and not alts) are still having fun just seeing the content. Some people at 50 want their tomes as fast as possible. They yell at anything they think is slowing them down (even when they're wrong). Don't tank for people like that.

People should report that type of harrassment more often. Just because you're in a df group doesn't give you the right to be an ass. No matter what your gear level is.

This. Don't let people get away with the sort of attitude you've been experiencing, OP. Take screenshots of the abusive text, make a note of their character name and look them up on the lodestone to find their server, pop a report in and let the GMs handle it. With a bit of luck they'll learn their lesson.

The new dungeons have a minimum iLv of 55, meaning he has every right to do them, regardless of how many overgeared players are farming them. If someone wants to control the iLv of the people in a group, they're more than welcome to recruit via Party Finder, but when you queue through DF, you do not get to complain about the gear of who you're paired with.

I guess you're just unlucky with the groups, or you're on a weird server. When I first hit level 50 I searched for wanderer's palace cause that was the only level 50 dungeon I had unlocked.
There I was with people with full ilvl 90 gear, and I'm there as their healer, ilvl 41... They weren't mad or anything! I made us wipe twice but they just said stuff like "maybe should've told you about the boss mechanics:)" and stuff like that.

So I'm sorry that you haven't had similar experience as a fresh 50 :(

Yeah, they just had more tact about it. Why? Because they weren't coddled by WoW.
