Voice chat options?

Speaking from personal experience Skype and iphone don't get along too well, iphone would rather you use Face Talk, or whatever the name of their equivalent app is instead. I had installed the Skype app on my mother's iphone so she could keep in touch with my brother (he can't afford to make long distance phone calls), but she's had nothing but issues with it. So my brother tends to contact me since I have Skype on my PC & Android.

You can (and like Bixby mentioned), you can do the same with others. However, if you aren't up for managing/running a server on your personal computer, and/or unsure if your network can handle it. I'd suggest just renting a server. It's usually less than $2 a month for a basic service. And the bonus is that you can use it for other games as well since it isn't tied to a specific game. My FC uses a vent server for 30+ users, but not all of us play FFXIV all the time, sometime we play other games and just have mindless chitchat.

Well I have a 150mb connection so surely that would be enough for 10ish people to use. I'll have to look into this more then and see what our options are. I hope we can get something sorted soon as some of my friends are already moaning about all the hoops they have to jump through to play FFXIV so I would hate to lose them to DC Online because I really just want a game we can easily all play together.

Heh, skype was all the rage back then. Now it's all about discord(ing).

Is there a reason nobody so far has suggested Discord as an option? It's available on both iOS and Android and works almost about the same on both platforms.
