Well that's a nice use of the Choco porter but isn't it kinda limited, destination wise? I didn't used it much either so I don't really know

A new map were everything is soloable would not feel epic for very long.
Now imagine an "epic" large zone open that requires 2-3-4 players to group to explore. No teleport, open world bosses with various spawn timers (few hours to several days with some randomisation), public dungeons to boot.
Long epic quests with nice rewards and a few hard fights along the way...
A little nitpick I think would be zone names. Stuff like "Upper La Noscea" and "Southern Thanalan" lend the zones absolutely no memorability, most people I've seen end up referring to areas by their primary sanctuary.
And let's not forget the redundancy of the name plaque when you enter a zone, you don't need to point out the region you're on when the region is tacked on to the name of the zone! Mor Dhona is the worst offender for sure.
DF and entirely soloable content have minimized the value and importance of meeting people. Games that I enjoyed and played a long time were designed such that you HAD TO work with others to do just about anything... I don't want to have to decide to make the game epic for myself - it should just BE epic, and it's not :/
I'm having a very hard time accepting FFXIV for what it is.
