I can almost guarantee this is due to the other tank catching the Spiny in Circle of Scorn. The DOT plays havoc with trying to ping pong the Spiny's enmity. I make it a point to NOT use CoS if the Spiny is around, and to flash the Spiny after any Provoke just to be safe.

Unchained is awesome. It's a 33% damage increase for 20s. It's great to use as a DPS cooldown for anything that requires every bit that your group can put out. You can argue that "tank damage doesn't matter" but when it's possible to lose by pixels of life then yes, tank damage matters.

As for SC vs. IB....does anyone know what the threat coefficient on SC is? If it's greater than 1.5x, then SC generates more threat than IB does, even on single targets.

SC's threat coefficient is huge. They increased Overpower's threat coefficient from the x3 that it had before and SC generates a good deal more than the just over 2 Overpowers worth of enmity that it would generate with an equal enmity modifier. I wouldn't be surprised if Overpower were increased to something like x4-5 and SC was given something like x5-x8.

I'm not sure how anyone can say with a straight face SC is amazing. Wrath is better spent on IB 9.5/10 times on anything worth tanking. Threat is a joke now a days, if you aren't able to be TP efficient between Flash/Overpower then you have other problems. Warrior is a tank, not a DD, the mentality that SC is good just shows where people's priorities are. I have literally never needed to use SC. I do it on weak trash for funzies, and that is all.

It *is* amazing, but that's not the same as "you will use it as much or more than IB". SC generates a truly insane amount of enmity which means that you're available to generate more Wrath and use IB more down the line instead of Overpower spamming for AoE enmity/damage. I wouldn't recommend anyone use it when they've already established aggro, but using it at the start of a fight or right as adds spawn is an excellent expenditure of your Wrath stacks, especially if it's either immediately following or followed up by an IB. It only seems like a bad idea if you can't see what it frees you up to do after you use it.

Wow that is crazy. So probably the same multiplier as OP but at 300 potency vs 120. I knew it was higher but had no idea. What is not to like about a huge AOE enmity generator that is TP free.

As it stands WAR buffs are ok, despite the short coming of some skills like Holmgang.

As far as the future of Warriors I hope this skill makes a come back when they decide to increase the level cap.

Flash is an important tool to have - Overpower is bad at moving targets as it is target based, Flash isn't. It's my staple for pulling any group. Tomahawk to collect, Flash as soon as I know all mobs will be in radius (taking account of them moving too), then either I steel cyclone as I am still moving into my position, or quickly get in position and hit overpower. I just got a nice lead on enmity on every mob BEFORE i was even in position, and once they are in position they are where I want them to be. Too often I see a WAR run in with overpower, and miss a mob only for it to head straight to the healer (2-3 mobs sometimes).

Also any comments related to 'Tanks shouldn't be doing damage' are simply idiotic. ANYTHING that defeats a boss quicker is welcome. With Unchained + Inner Release + Beserk + Infuriate, I can get quite a few nice crits, and deal some very nice damage. Feathers on Garuda are a great example, Use the Infuriate for Steel Cyclone and watch the crits pop, your dps will love you, and your healers too. Also, don't forget the LORE of the Warrior, we are simply rage incarnate, determined to make our way from one side of the battlefield to the other - no matter what is in our way.

Steel cyclone is effectively 399 potency because it ignores the damage reduction on Defiance. The other way of looking at it, is that Overpower is 90 potency to Steel Cyclone's 300.
