Mpk how exactly? A mob should not aggro until it is back in its territory. If someone is there when the mob goes back to its home point, it could very well be a coincidence.
How many more ignorant comments are going to be tolerated on these boards before people understand that there are more mmos out there than ones with "Final Fantasy" in the title. I have never played one (other than XI) where a mob disappeared when pulled from its spawn and then reappeared somewhere in its territory. That was a sloppy fix imo and was a poor excuse for not implementing speed pathing (which does exist in XIV).
My point is there is more than one way to do it. It cannot always be "let's do it like XI did it because it "worked" there". Check out how other games do it and discover what's a good idea and what's a bad idea through knowledge and experience.
Just came to me, but wasn't it mentioned in the past that they were going to look into this (in a roundabout way) when they assessed/addressed the issue with all mobs having ranged attacks (think it is dumb that all creatures have ranged attacks, btw)? To me, I think they should go to a variant of FFXI system.
I liked how in 11 you couldnt leash mobs. It made the game WAY more adventurous. I know this isn't 11 but its a good aspect for the game to have.
1. It helps with SP partys pulling mobs. *with the new leve system i would see SP parties making a comeback, hopefully*
2. Keeps lame exploits from occuring.
3. Adventurer is 'kept on toes'.
Spoke with Matsui in response to the topic of reworking monsters aggro range, distance and behavior. He said that we'll be revamping this system along with the upcoming battle-related adjustments and claim system updates.
Not sure what "revamping" will entail, but it's a start.
Personally i'd like a mix of camping/mobile exp. I know some people like staying in one spot, but i'd rather make my way through a location, fighting as I go.
Thank you Bayohne.
Details pending, but I trust the devs to make the system work.
