I know right? it's not like an entire squad of flames got their souls claimed by ifrit after a single attack and therefore made him more powerful, with the only survivor managing to not get their soul stolen surviving due to already being claimed by hydalen (aka, sheer dumb luck) or anything.

As shown hear with story behind the darklight raiders from 1.0, cutter's cry was an 8 man dungeon of level 45 or higher, so the lore wise, you had to play 1.0 I guess to know the lore behind it.
This has been brought up many times over the ages, and every now and then it'll spurn a fun discussion. In this thread about it from 1.0 we came up with some spur of the moment ideas for it. I particularly liked things like having books locked until you found them in the world, collecting pages to restore books you can read, completing battles/quests to help pen new tomes with new info they acquired from other sources, achievement rewards, lol. Who knows, maybe someday! It'd be a great way to hint at new content and flesh out things they don't have many flavor-text opportunities for.
I think I have recovered enough pages of the Necrologos to make a book, but then the pages keep crumbling and exploding into monsters from the void :(
