SQUARE-ENIX, remember not to marginalise crafters

I would like to make my own hqs one day (possible signing items for people) and enjoy being able to repair my own gear in the field, cook strange foods and make potions!

But I hope hq armour and food/potions will be useful and sought after in the near future.

i for one will stop doing repairs on other peoples gear and make them either go find someone else willing to do it, charge 100X the cost of the material, make you go to the rapiar npc for their high prices for 75%, or level your craft to do it yourself.

good thing you arent the only crafter!

if they do what you are supporting and make crafting a side thing and take away the reason to level it there won't be many. remember you guys did just say you wouldn't mind if crafters quit. if all the pure crafters quit because of being made worthless how many other options besides the 4 i gave do you have?

edit: i was not talking about as things sit now. i was talking about if things are set forward to give no reason to craft as a job and it pushes crafters out of the game.

Almost every other game has crafting as a small on the side aspect and people still craft in those games.

but how many of them started them as a main job and had people grind for hours to level it up just to turn around and slap the ones that put the time into it afterwards?

yeah but if they get rid of it now as a main job the 6 people left playing FFXIV as a crafter main can go ahead and quit or convert over to a fighting class all before the PS3'ers even start.

6 crafters? you must be playing a completely different game than i am. i know many that got one battle to 50 and now only use that one class to farm mats for their crafts. you take that away from them after the hours spent and you will lose alot more than 6 per server.
