This. So much this. Once had the other tank try to pull it off me back into the middle of the room. I won that provoke fight thankfully.
Dear Diary,
Today while running Qitana Ravel for the first time on my alt brd, I found out how much the second boss' autos hit for. I also found out how much its tankbuster hits a brd in lvl 74 gear for.
A spicy meatball of 8-12k for autos and a VERY SPICY MAMA MIA meatball for 50k tankbuster. I was one dead brd...even though our healer pulled while the tank was typing out mechanics...
Good times.

Rarely say anything when this happens, but this time I couldn't resist. I go by "whoever activates stance first, tanks." Still let him have the boss because, again, tank wars are cancer and I'd rather people didn't get cleaved left and right. I really don't get the response, though; tanking is easier than it's ever been, and on the off chance I did somehow die, hitting stance and taunting once means the boss is stuck to you like glue. At that point the only way anyone is ripping aggro off is if you just stand there with your finger up your nose. /shrug
You're putting too much stock into this. Tank stance on or off doesn't matter for an off-tank since either way there's the potential for an extra button press. If they keep it off and they have to pick up hate then they just need to turn the stance on and provoke. If they keep it on and they notice they're creeping up on MT and might take hate then they Shirk once and be done with it. Don't bother with worrying about whether or not the other tank has a stance up.
Got Hades in trial roulette. Lagged like crazy to the point I thought I'd get a 90006. Surprisingly, I did not die once or DC. Commended one of the healers. I wish I could've commended them both.
Had this in a World of Darkness run. Everything would freeze for about 30 seconds but I could still use abilities (no procs or combos would trigger though) and run around. It was like everything but me was frozen in time. Everything would the suddenly unfreeze and all of the animations and moves and players running around that had happened while time was frozen would happen rapid fire in the space of about 1-2 seconds. And then it would all be frozen in time again. Finally ended up dead at the end of Angry Man and apologized for being completely useless because of the unplayable lag. Before I left the instance so they could get a functional healer they told me they could see my dead body sliding around the battlefield lol. A few hours later everything was fine again, so it was just some random horrible lag.
This morning, I was given a reminder that the older content is, the more it embeds or encourages bad gameplay.
I pop into 50-70 roulette as PLD in sohr kai (hraeslvagar boss) with blm, sam and astro I think. Blm and sam are returners. No problem with that, after all lvl 60 is basically wet paper.
Didn't think I'd have issue with wet paper.
It's not until the mass pull after first boss that I finally notice mobs are not melting as they should be. I mean, it's not slow, it's just...it felt like it was taking a bit longer than usual. I look at my party UI and what do I see from blm? Fire 3, fire 4 bliz 3 and loop. Our blm was using single target rotation. While this goes on, I'm debating internally if after the pull, I should take a moment to point out the aoe set for blm or wait until we clear last boss and suggest him to look up information about. In the end, I choose the latter though I'm not sure it got through as no sooner I finish typing it and pressed enter, he left.
I don't know if I made the right call there. Looking up his search info, it was clear that not only he was a returner but his sparse job leveling with blm being his highest might have even suggested he was relatively new to the game. It could be that he just simply was either not aware of aoe set or maybe he felt like it wasn't worth it. And lvl 60 and below dgns are truely wet paper content that you can basically 3man it to compensate. On the other hand, not calling it out can lead credence that the single target playstyle on mob packs is the right play and he may just keep on doing that until he plays capped content.
Did I do the right move or am I just overthinking it?
