waiting the other to try hard turn off the ps4 after the update hehe
According to Square Enix, issue is fixed when you update your PS4's system firmware. Problem solved!

need a brave soul to test this out, someone who has a fast internet lol
Greetings!
To fix the issue where players have had to download a ~20GB version update after PS4 hasn't shut down properly, Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a PlayStation®4 system update on July 11, 2017.
Please update your PS4 system software to the latest version.
You can read the Lodestone news here.
We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
Best,
Lakukisu
My skepticism forces me to not believe this until a normal person comments that it's fixed under circumstances that previously caused this.
However, thanks SE & SE for at least fixing this nearly after a month.
You still need download 22gb
I'm not going to try it. I will wait for people's feedback, after this I'm not trusting SE
Thank you very much yay!.
Is there anyone with fast internet that wouldn't mind testing it to be sure? Just make sure you updated your PS4 first.
I have slow interns but back up.
I can confirm that this fixed it on my end. Three times straight back into the game.
I suspect if you did it be for now still have to update the game though
Well, that's great news !!
As i'm downloading the 22 gigs for the fourth time now (almost done, next is ps4 update), i definitly don't wanna test it out though...
How is telling a bunch of people who are obviously making a fool out of themselves to grow up discrediting their opinion? I never once insinuated or said anything that their claims were false, just to stop acting so childish. Go back into every one of these pages and you will find some stupid comment with-in almost everyone of them. Does it mean that their problem is less important? No. You have about 80% of people on here handeling like they should. I only responded to their childish attitudes. You on the other hand took flight and started talking so much garbage about me from a simple "grow up".
Why are you still arguing? Go download the patch already.
So SE said it was a Sony problem and that they had informed Sony of it. People get their pitch forks and cry bull****, claiming that it's clearly an SE problem because everyone knows exactly how these two infrastructures play into one another and there's no way it's not that filthy SE trying to steal their playtime. Sony releases an update for PS4 that resolves the issue thus proving it really was a Sony problem. People continue to act like SE has personally robbed them blind over the issue.
Sounds about like par for the course around here.
Currently Updating Firmware, will reboot and then try, mid game I will pull the power cord and then turn back on and see if I have to redownload.
EXACTLY! This pisses me off most of all and it even happened after SE claimed they were being DDoS. Everyone jumped ship saying how they are using a scapegoat for their own crappy servers. They have the audacity to believe that SE are pinning the problem on Sony's shoulders as if Sony wouldn't release a statement if it were not true.
To be fair SE should have warned people on the Lodestone about the issue AT the very start this was being reported and they knew it was a problem.
That is on SE to make sure customers knew that this bug could happen even if Sony's software caused the problem. Not warning players and having them find out after the fact and letting this long thread occur with few far too little responses after a month did not help with customer faith. It almost makes you feel like they wanted users to have this fail so they can show a long thread to Sony...
And on the other hand, Sony is not helping the matter about what this FW update does. "Improves System Performance" Gaming news outlets just ridicule the update because Sony decided to downplay. So many don't know how bad this bug affected users who play certain games like this one.
Maybe should start putting pressure on Sony to be a little more open about what they're updating and less vague. SE is still going to get the blame for the most part because Sony passed the buck in not acknowledging a little more openly.
Tested and confirmed it worked.
its unfortunately the default behavior on most game boards =/ this kind of ppl probably leads a really sad life where everything for them is wrong and everyone is always trying to lie to them. Blizzard, Riot all of them have this kind of people that are never happy and always making conspiracy theories.
Based on my experience with large companies and development release cycles, doesn't matter the partner they will always adhere to release cycles. SOE probably has a firmware release cycle that just came up and that's where they stuck the fix. You would be surprised how even one line of code can take to make it to production regardless of the "motivators", even if the fix is identified immediately, it can take some time to document, verify, GA, test push to a subset or all devices for the fix to validate before they get the blessing to go public. With a company as big as these two it's kind of surprising that it happened this fast.
This is still not a bad idea. You don't have to get a full UPS. A Surger Protecter with Battery Backup is only about 40-50 bucks. It generally covers 4 outlets, so you can power your PS4 down safely in case something happens. After all a bad shutdown can even corrupt the database. So may as well invest in it anyways in case this update broke something else that you may not be aware of.
Thanks solid! Enjoy everyone!
If people have a problem with something that is going on, they have every right to complain. But to put on your tinfoil hat just because you believe that there is no way they are telling you the truth is so childish beyond belief. The state of the gaming community as a whole has changed so much in the last 15 years.
I absolutely agree that Sony and SE let it go for too long before they ever even addressed that it was an issue.
However, I don't know what responses they could have given. Since the problem was a Sony one would people have been any happier if a rep popped up every few days to rephrase "This isn't our fault, Sony is working on it"? That much communication isn't going to appease anyone who's upset but it can easily have the unintended consequence of having everyone read too much into it.
Ok, I generally supported your posts because I feel you had a point with people behaving too extremely over this issue. At this point you're niggling over minute things and people still have a right to be wary of what was stated. That being said, you're about to be hoist by your own petard if you keep this up.
I find that silence tends to be worse than a weekly update even if no solution. Let's put it this way, you go to a food joint and order a soda. They can't serve Coca Cola because the supplier is out. Instead of putting a sign up each time, they felt that the sign only needed to be displayed once (and someone put it somewhere where customers couldn't see it) and cashiers not saying anything about this being an issue till they ring up your order. People are not going to run to Coca Cola and scream at them, they're being served by that place. I get that SE doesn't want to be too antagonizing towards Sony, but neither Sony or SE really stepped up to show they care about their base in this issue, and it's a bit troubling :/
This is also compounded with the fact that SE dragged their heels on posting it on the Lodestone in the first place. That IS far little too late. Customers shouldn't find out after the fact, they should have given a warning on the launcher so that people could prepare. Like I said it felt like they WANTED users to get this bug so they can build up this massively ridiculous thread.
Thanks god, it's finally fixed.
I will wait for my new lan Cable (because 0.18mb/s is a BIT TOO SLOW) and finally play again.
Seems fixed on my end as well
