We must act!
I'll tell my FC this. We'll get a good laugh. (about 1/3-1/2 females)
Also, when I tried playing mobile co-op games, most others I met were guys. Sadly, some were so misogynistic that I felt it wisest to pretend I was a guy. Luckily, I don't have to do that in XIV (though I did have some random guy "pinch" my butt and send me a tell asking if I wanted more. I'm gonna guess that guy felt the ban hammer pretty rapidly.) A FC mate of mine even said once, "Wow, I didn't realize this game was such a chick magnet." XDDDD
Wonderful, a thread full of broad generalizations about gender in 2015.
I thought my FC was almost all girls until getting on TeamSpeak. XD Just based on the very small sample pool of my FC, I've noticed that the more "normal" a female character's name is, the more likely it is that it's actually a male playing the character. For some reason, it seems that males (at least in my FC) have a tendency to pick actual girls' names for their female characters, while the IRL girls use weird/fantasy-esque names that often don't sound particularly feminine.
There have actually been studies done on this. Some basic things I remember are that males tend to move their avatars backwards more often, jump with a much greater frequency, tend to stay further distance away from their party members, and tend to choose more traditionally attractive avatars.
