Missing Genders: A request for Male Miqote, Female Highlander, and Female Roegadyn

One NPC atleast for the Female Roegadyn is being introduced with Companies which will come out before the PS3 release. The playable options should be with the PS3 version.

Totally re-rolling for this. Part of me kind of hopes they won't let people remake their characters... I'm afraid the influx of male Miqo'te will be huge... though it would suck for someone who really put a ton of effort into their character. Ambivalence...

Either way, totally awesome! I almost wonder if they'd add a completely new playable race at some point? I do recall them mentioning in an interview they would not be against such a thing...

Not to mention Elezen ears of all types point outward, not back.

Can't wait for the implementation though. I know a few people in my LS that would change, even to female Roegadyn.

I also notice her hairline creeping suspiciously inwards towards her elongated browline, which is practically trademarked galka/roe format

I just hope that Square doesn't make me sad by introducing the missing genders, but not having them be playable.

This is a great thread! I would love a female galka!!! they would be very badass! and so would male mithras! it's a bit sexist tho to do that... oh well!

why would they wait till ps3 lauch to add npcs... remember they was going to be added as playable races pre launch but didn't have the man power, with them delaying several games. They will prob have that. They already have the models.

I can see some NPCs being added with companies, though not many. Maybe a few over time till PS3 release. Then playable at PS3. Makes sense to me to add playable at PS3 release - right when all these new people are coming in. Gives them more choices.

I know this thread was created and focused mainly on female roegadyn and male miquote, but what about the possibility of other Final Fantasy races? I'll probably change to a male miquote if they are made playable (kinda tired of seeing this hume after playing it for 8+ years on xi), but if anything I'd rather be a Gria :3

The Spiritual successor for Gria is already present in game to an extent in the form of Padjal but they are a Storyline race like the Zilart from XI.

As for other FF races, I think they want to avoid doing that as it would break the immersion in this world. While FFXI and XIV share similar races they are technically in the Same Universe just different planets. While games like FF7 and FF8 are from different universes from each other. though... FF7 and FFX are in the same universe just different planets.

Extremely, but I'd love to hear more o.o

I wouldn't mind seeing other races added to the game. I'm always up for new races, but as of right now I can only see the Padjal being introduced as playable (only because they're they only other humanoid race we know of), and I think that's HIGHLY unlikely. But if perhaps one day we expand from Eorzea to other parts of Hydaelyn and come across a new race, it might become an option. ^-^
I'm happy as things are now though. With male Miqo'te, female Highlanders and Female Roegadyn on the way (someday), I feel we'll have plenty of choices. Even more so when we can customize our characters more.
That is, assuming they will be playable, which SE didn't clearly state, but I think was implied. D:

I'm too playful / talkative to be a Hyur. I'm tall but I'm far from a husky guy so Roegadyns don't do much for me. I'm not serrious enough to be an Elezen. Though I'd rather be a demon or a wolf, male Miqote kinda solves my problem of my character not matching my personality. I just think horns would suit me better than fluffy ears ^w^

I wouldn't be a male miqote since im a girl IRL, but having them around would be a lot of fun. I know my RL friend is literally on the edge of his seat waiting for them to be released.

Yeah I'm a girl, and I wouldn't roleplay a guy, but I know what Nabiri is saying, girls suck. I think the type of girls who play FF titles are not attracted to hanging out in "girl packs" haha.

I think asking for other races is a little unreasonable (such as padjal, theres lore problems here and lore inconsistencies is something I really care about, the whole reason I'm hating on Star Wars The Old Republics classes rigth now, none of them fit lore), if they do its great...whats not unreasonable is asking for npcs of male miq and female roeg, and then by ps3 release giving us the option to have them as a playable race.

Seeing a Jedi running around with a Sith Light Saber in cutscenes really turned me off to TOR :/

Crystals are crystals they are not light or dark affiliated, this is what I know mostly from KOTOR 1 and 2. A Sith or Jedi chooses the crystal color that best suits them, some colors are more prevalent among one group then the other and even amongst one class, like Jedi consulars are usually wielding green lightsabers. But this isn't always true.

Sith Lightsaber is not the color, its the Style. It was also called a Dual Lightsaber and was the weapon of Darth Maul. Mace Windu trained to use one and refused to teach any of his students its path because he realized it was too close to the dark side.

A dual lightsaber is when you have two, I think you mean a double-bladed lightsaber which is also known as a sith lightsaber as it was invented by the sith: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Double-bladed_lightsaber however, Jedi do use it, even some masters, so it's not incorrect to see Jedi wielding one, although rare.

Back on topic! Has anyone else been sketching what they think the new genders will look like? I've been practicing, I would like to post my final versions once I have them done. I think we'll be in for a long wait until we see them added, so this passes the time, haha.

I'm pretty happy with how Merlwyb looks for the Roegadyn Females. I couldn't have pictured her any better I think

I don't know much of the lore right now regarding the Padjal, but I think asking for another race at this point is a bit much right now anyways. Haha. I'd like to stick to lore too. One thing that irks me just a little is that some people were asking for "mog" houses or a "mog" delivery system. I had read something that moogles keeping hidden - not many people seeing them. So I don't feel that would really fit in this game. That's not to say I'm not for housing and a delivery system. :D Just.. too many moogles around and I think they'd have to change the lore. lol

Curious now though.. anyone have a site with Padjal lore? Would like to learn more about them.
