You pay for a game not for information, it is actually a privilege to have these insights on an almost continuous pace in the forums.

The lodestone main page is meant for official, structured information. I would expect the lodestone articles to be published more or less synchronously in the different languages.

On the other hand, the developers post themselves directly in the forums as soon as they feel that they have interesting and relevant info, then they translate to make this info available to the rest of the fanbase, I fail to see how this is a lack of respect towards players.

Maybe they can make future zones so good I will never have to visit the current ones again. I also hope they don't plan on instancing EVERYTHING. I liked fighting my way through open dungeons like Phomiuna Aqueducts or Promyvion.

Nothing wrong with everyone being able to teleport either, since you have to find a gate or crystal first, before you can teleport there, just like XI. Chocobos would make it easier to cover the large zones though, that much I agree with. And as you can see, they ARE redesigning the zones in adding various small campsites among other things, so even though the general layout probably wont change (except whatever happens to the black shroud) there will be much more to see and do.

Isnt that what people wanted? Just more buildings and structures added to the landscape, so everything doesnt look so sparse in terms of landmarks? Also im sure some of these instanced dungeons might be near certain points within current dungeons. You'll still fight your way through, get to a certain point, enter an instance, and continue fighting.

Plus with instances, cant the XIV team design certain locations to take permanent damage/alter the terrain since you dont have to worry about other players not being to that point yet, being effected?

Some people enjoy complaining. Sometimes it gives them much needed attention. Others see it as an opportunity to let people know exactly what is wrong with something, in spite of it being a personal viewpoint that may be uninformed. Either way, they have every right to give their critique, but they should do it in a way that doesn't make them look like whiners.

Point was not "critique is bad", but rather, why would someone spend days in game and on official forums complaining about a game that they think fail badly on every level. Addiction?

I think there is every reason for people to criticize and critique what is being done. On the other hand, I have read a lot of posts from Viion both here and on the FFXIVCore forums and he is always negative, not to mention his posts are never constructive, informed, or fair. Honestly, I think he is just sticking around and trying to poach players from FFXIV for TERA. That is about all I see him talk about.

It's totally a respect issue. My point is that there is a better way to handle this situation than telling those pesky non-japanese fans to not try to translate his posts. It's obviously not that big of a deal for them to wait a day for the translations to come in. That's all I'm saying.

Anyway this is apparently an old topic so I'm done with bitching about that!

Hope the new patch works out.

It has nothing to do with respect and it has nothing to do with Yoshi'P's opinion of the impromptu translators. Asking a Developer to write a posts and then send it to translators negates the timeliness of a post. Yoshi-P was just warning against 'amateur' translators posting text in google translate and then dispersing it, haphazardly, to the rest of the public rather than waiting for the companies translators to scan the boards and translate it for the Dev Team.

Because I'm not like the other 450'000 that gave up and didnt bat an eyelid?

I'm here im hope this game will become something because I dont want to give up, that doesnt disqualify me from saying what is wrong with the game and what they're doing I disagree with.

So us in Japan can call every NA/EU game company disrespectful because we get information about their game sometimes a year later if it doesn't come from a 3rd party source?
