None as far as I know, but I'm also on the lab side (not production). We just see a lot of escalations up the chain of command. But what can you do when unexpected things happen.
But how dare I say anything, so shame on me for saying anything.
Im a jerk for saying that I think PTO should be used for something other then playing a videogame, but its perfectly fine to attack/criticize the devs, company and the game over your choice to use your PTO for it, and a delay happens?
Like, how is that Fair to them at all?
Don't tell anyone what to do with their vacation time.
What's most frustrating about this is that SE has earned a lot of good will by having relatively stable expansion launches thus far. I've been playing mmos for over 20 years and I've always done the cynical thing and assumed the first week would be unplayable, but SE earned my respect for their reliability thus far. That's on me for assuming SE would be better than their peers. Now I know better.
No, but people pretending that companies don't suffer real world consequences for delays is a little strange. That game developers get a free pass for delays, again feels strange.
More then likely the penalty SE will suffer is if they don't meet whatever magic dollar amount they expect is stock dropping. SE has no obligation to players their obligation is to stock holders. Just like if they want to sell X item in cash shop like they do in avengers game. The players are secondary to stock holders.
You’re still missing the point.
Constructive criticism is fair. Personal attacks against the developers are not. I fail to see where I ever said otherwise, though.
I don’t think some of the criticism expressed here is uncalled for. Especially considering the real reasons for the delays. They weren’t really things out of their control: hardware shipment delays, game-crashing bugs. It was literally lore nitpicking and fine-tuning that delayed QA testing the showed further server stability issues—which were already well known. I think that time should have been spent on testing the server stability and doing other QA first before they started fine-tuning the lore. That’s just a simple criticism that isn’t an attack on anyone’s person…
And I think asking for maybe even a slightly faster announcement to allow those that took time off for this isn’t that far off of a request. But I’ve already addressed that previously in this thread, and won’t repeat it here. Feel free to go back and read, or don’t.
Your post was unnecessary because it came off as shaming people for spending their time off how they pleased. If you don’t think it’s a “good enough” reason, then fine. You’re more than welcome to say that. But you don’t really need to smack someone that is already disappointed with such a condescending statement.
Let this be a lesson. Never trust a company that has been giving you less and less every year.
Lol Do whatever you want with it, I have no power over you or anybody who chooses to use that time over a videogame. Doesn't mean Im not allowed to express an opinion that it could/should be used on something better or more important.
I love that people are allowed to voice what they want, but its so bad if anybody disagrees with it. But if the reverse were to happen they'd be upset and say that their opinion is just as important as anybody else's....when is convenient for them.
And so a 2 week delay means they lost your respect? Sounds abit extreme.
