tell me about it, i have a 70 sam so i started to lvl my DK from 60-70. mostly im just doing random dungeons etc but the last 2 times i did the random leveling dungeon i got the first SB dungeon you do twice, my dk is now at 63 after a few days and is in full 260 gear but i have started to buy the lvl 64 peices off the market board that are upgrades just in case i get a stormblood dungeon that wreck me if im in lesser gear lol


and it all started with having the same thing that happened to you, did doma castle with a friend (both dps) and tank was just getting melted while having mostly 250-260 peices

Why not just run Shisui then for 270s? The shisui 270s are better then the whites and can last up to Doma Castle which is where you then upgrade, or you can just get the nomad gear from bardam.

The 61 dungeon also drops 260s for the purpose of gearing people who are 235/250.

Did trials. Got Susano normal. I was just helping a friend get their queue. We wiped the first time because some dps positioned so that 4 other people couldnt get to the safe zone. The other healer at one point, says "Malefic isn't a healing spell. I need help healing. You aren't healing. My MP is almost empty." Was 50% at the time, when mine was 25% from both carrying the healing and dpsing. I'm sorry but spamming succor instead of ET succor, or you know JUST LETTING MY REGENS DO THEIR WORK, is just a terrabad way to play. At the end she calls me a "Garbage healer."

Not the greatest AST (forgot i had Earthly star for like half the fight,) but just watching her play SCH and call me a bad healer for dpsing and healing just pissed me off. lol. The tank jumped on the bandwagon too, saying how glad he was that clemency was an "ability". I watched him use clemency a couple times. It was always after my benefic II or Essential dignity had already landed. lol. thanks bro. Chat happens the last 15 seconds or so of fight.

Decided to finish the Omega normal series last night. Hopped on my WHM since I hate waiting to queue as my SAM. Sure enough got an instant start, but it was actually a party in progress (11 minutes in). Clearly, I thought people probably rage quit. How many though? That is always the big question. Luckily, it was only the healer I replaced that quit. Apparently, it was too difficult for him/her to heal. So the tanks have a discussion about swapping and we start. Thankfully, I watched two separate raid guides on YouTube, so I knew what moves were to be expected. Needless to say it still was far from easy since there was one SAM in particular that kept dying. He died 7 times!!! He stayed dead for a good 4 minutes since the other healer and I were busy AoE healing to prepare for meteor and cure after, then enhanced fire III followed by flares. Besides the SAM, the other DPS players died throughout the fight due to mechanics. Some would run into blackholes then get hit by AoE immediately after, once 3 dps died from vacuum wave and falling off the side of arena. Thankfully, we saved the LB 3 for healers. This was definitely a major healer intensive fight when people die consistently. Healing tanks and AoE healing party wouldn't be bad, it's when DPS get hit over and over again by avoidable mechanics that it becomes quite taxing. However, despite the numerous deaths, the other healer and I were able to keep tanks and ourselves alive to recover when necessary and raise our dead DPS friends. In the end we were able to clear the fight on the first try (Well my first try, probably their second or third. However many tries they got in during those first 11 minutes).

First run as a DPS. I queued specifically for the level 15. When I started playing last year I tried all ARR magic-classes, got Thaumaturge to 26 for the stories, then went with ARN and CNJ to max level. Sastasha isn't hard of course and I am a true 26/no soul crystal so I figured would get smaller expectations. No complaints, no comms, highly experienced tank plus two sprouts. Went fine. I tried the whole "fire-fire-fire-fire-thunder-transpose-ice-ice-ice-ice-thunder-transpose" thing with some Scathe tossed in, but wow, mana regen was so strong it seemed like it would be better just to switch straight to fire from ice and skip transpose. Finally did that rather than wait to get more fires in. So, a nice, boring, yet successful tale. Now waiting to get into Tam-Tara for more lowbie practice.

UPDATE: Second run OK. I realized in first dungeon that there was no real reason to use Scathe when you can't go higher... lol. Had healer in Tam DC, tank figured it would take too long to get a healer and left. New tank popped in, we did a small pull, then a new healer popped in. Smooth run. Lots of things died in fire. So, at least at low levels my skill and class knowledge are adequate ;)

UPDATE 2: OK, got through all available dungeons on Thaum, hitting level 30 in Haukke Manor. No real problems, except that in Haukke I was asked to LB at the end of the final boss fight when the adds spawn. I have only used healer lb and only a few times. Figured it out (hey you ground target with it) and got the clear. If the skills stopped here I would feel pretty confident, but I know there is a lot more complexity if I keep going. Guess I can go get my crystal now at the guild...

was in vault leveling my then lvl57 rdm. it was myself, an ast, a (lvl70) pld, and a smn. right out the gate we're having problems. i'm ripping hate from the tank with my scatter bombs and this continues well into the mob right before the first boss. i try to help them as best i can, bringing strays to them, holding off on attacking after the tank pulled, etc. even the smn was ripping hate. the ast very nicely tells me to "use diversion you d*ck!" so in the midst of downing this mob, i look at the pld's buff bar and notice they had no tank stance on. none. no WONDER. so i tell them to shield oath and in the middle of killing this mob i WATCH them pop it and then tell me "i had it on right from the beginning." the ast feels a need to back him up, tell me all three of them are together (as if that was supposed to scare me) and act hostile towards me.

funny how after they activated it, i never pulled anything else from them from that point on... hmm.

Doma Castle is an okay dungeon, but i hhhhhhhhate the second boss. Not because it's difficult, but because literally everybody goes out of their way to get into the towers....when i'm already standing in them....

Only one person needs to stand in them, people. More people does not make it better. Especially if you're a melee dps. Let the ranged person who's already standing in it handle it.

Had a tank today that did it too, except it was one that was way behind a bunch of mines, and i had already been standing in it for a solid 5 seconds, so the tank in his infinite wisdom decides that he should run through them all to get to it, while i'm still sitting safely inside of it.

I've seen this too and I think it would help if in the second "boss" of Bardam's they would penalize you if more than one person stood in the towers there to teach that for the very next dungeon.

had a tank in "The Keeper of the Lake." Apparently, didn't like the dungeon so he wanted us to kick him rather than bailing out witht he 30 minute penalty.

Long story short, we didn't kick him but I healed the Red Mage who tanked and the Bard provided backup support. We did the entire dungeon with him still sitting at the entrance. We completed the dungeon but kicked him right before the last boss....27 minutes in

As a side point, I don't understand why they would dislike that dungeon. I LOVE tanking it. Especially the final boss.

Queued for Titan (normal), one person says he's new, so do I, the healer, (well technically I'm a returning player but I don't remember any mechanics so I'd rather say I'm new), so does the tank...but we all admitted to watching a guide beforehand (4th person was quiet the entire time).

Run went fantastic even though at least 3 of us just learned the mechanics beforehand. It's nice when people are prepared.

I know...it kinda blew our minds...it was a good lvling roulette pick. I didn't understand why he wouldn't tank it. However, we made sure he received no XP or end dungeon credit.

As a person that gets that dungeon in 50/60 everyday, I only hate the second boss. ; ;

If you're gonna fake DC at the beginning of Aurum Vale, at least make it look legit. Zoning in to immediately DC looks suspicious as heck. We even waited 5 mins longer past the 5min kick to see if the tank would come back but NOPE!

I was running steps of faith earlier and half the group left in seconds, no idea why, maybe they thought it was too hard, well those of us that were left got replacements and finished it easily enough, maybe a lesson to at least try before you walk out.

Most people who leave before the fight actually starts believe that 99% of the people they get paired with suck and leave right away. Personally, I don't care what dungeon/trial it is, if I get put into it, I will complete it(unless there are 5 wipes before even 50% HP)

When you're a DPS and feeling nervous because you know a tank making a double trash pull in Doma Castle with i270 gear (left and right side) is not a very good idea.

I feel like they use it out of fear...but I could also be misunderstanding. Granted, I do let my tankerinos get a tad low sometimes.

Ran Deltaspace(?) 2 with my boyfriend today and we got a SCH that was some kind of special. My boyfriend starts a 15 second cooldown. SCH casts Miasma at ~7 seconds and pulls. I had put HoTs on my bf over time so I instantly drew aggro. Bf and I share a are you kidding me moment and I just lay on the floor asking the SCH what happens. He casually tries to tell us hat he had misclicked and tried to cancel even though miasma has a 2.5 second cast time. Come second pull because we wiped, SCH tells my boyfriend to make a 1 min macro because 15 seconds clearly wasn't enough. We give him a 30 second pull and half way through the fight, bf notices he's getting basically no heals besides my HoTs and some instant heals from me. Lo and behold, 15s, 30s or 1 min countdown doesn't matter for the SCH because he didn't even get Selene/Eos up.

Was on the way to 70 doing Duty Finder spam. Got Susano from Trials. Other tank is a Dark Knight and immediately exclaimed his desire to MT. You know, because Susano. I go Deliverance and get ready to ride the gravy train. 10 seconds in Dark Knight's face meets floor. I have to put on my pants and do the things. Sword phase comes in and Dark Knight doesn't even bother to try to get the Active Time Maneuver. I think he didn't try in part due do shame.

I spam it during big pulls because Holy/Gravity/Bane hit a lot harder than Total Eclipse.

Clemency is just part of PLD's tanking kit, like Equilibrium is for warrior. The fact PLD can't have spells interrupted by damage anymore further says this.

I was running levelling roulette with 2 FC mates me as WHM them as SAM and RDM. We all had all classes at 60 or above. Ported into Satasha with a brand new tank who runs off before I can cast protect and pulls 3 sets of trash. Unsuprisingly he croaks and I who have sprinted to get to him also croak from all the damage I have taken from all the adds he hasn't retained agro of. He proceeds to call me a s*** healer. I try to explain that I can't heal and run at the same time and he calls me a liar. When my two FC mates try to explain that healers are static the new tank says I am a f****** c*** and I should learn my f***** job. My two FC mates tried to tell him that he should do smaller pulls but he continues to hurl abuse at me so naturally we kick him and get a very nice new tank who we help through the rest of the dungy. The vitriol especially coming from a sprout was.... disturbing

I would never just leave a dungeon because I hate running it, but ever since Early Access, I've been running 50/60 roulette as either PLD or SCH. More than half of those roulettes have dropped me into Keeper of the Lake and I am just so sick of it. If I'm running as SCH, I get tanks who don't know how to pull and DPS who think swearing at me is a good idea. If I'm PLD, I get healers who get themselves killed on bosses, and DPS who just plain never LB. Not even at the final boss. It's just so sad to see them sit on a full LB bar the entire run, only to waste it on the last 4% of Middy.

Queue up with a RDM friend and me as the healer, we get temple of the fist, the tank over pull at the 2nd green wall and there's more adds than i can handle (even with precense of mind + cure2 spam and ect..), the other dps was a MCH. We wiped and the tank blame my RDM friend for not using his AOE spell more, then my friend tells him 'Sorry i only have 1 AOE spell', the tank replies 'No you have 3', my friend replies 'No, i have 1 spell and 2 skills that have cooldowns'. It stays like that and after the coeurl boss, he vote my friend out for 'harassment' of all thing. He has the audacity to say 'We'll do slow pull until we get another DPS'.

I tell him, 'Well, that was my friend you just kicked, so you'll have to find a healer too'.


Whats funny is that the tank didn't complain at the MCH either (lets be honest, MCH isn't really setup for good AOE either), cause when we looked at the contact list, they both were from the server, so we made 1+1 and they most likely were friend.


In the end, because the person who starts the vote = 1 vote for yes, i couldn't do anything to stop it. Because it was 2 yes VS 1 no, and even if i didn't vote, a timed-out vote count as a yes. So the result would of been the same.

Some ppl are just bad and don't know how to play their job. Saw a lv 70 WAR with 450 dps and cant hold any agro at all in shinryu

ran stone vigil with a DRK all lvl20-25 gear and trinkets/accessories.... asked why he was equipped with that shit and he said he was speed leveling and didn't want to spend money on gear as well as the healer's job to keep him alive.

Kicked and avoided wiping on the bosses.

*he died on a simple mob, I ended up tanking...and I'm a DRG -_-

A simple tip for people who can't get enough poetics to gear up to 129 at level 50, or 269 at level 60:

A rank hunts give a nice amount of tomestones in addition to clan seals, and respawn every 5 hours. Join a hunt linkshell, join a hunting party, hit the target once and you get all the contribution that your party gets for the mark. All you need is a weapon. You can show up naked to the fight for all it cares.

So with this in mind, is it really necessary to show up in a 60+ dungeon wearing ilvl 200 gear? Somehow, I don't think so.

A sucky tank in satasha is fine, a tank that pulls the whole dungeon however is not. And if you start doubling down on people who have more experience and start spouting profanity, then you're a goner

So I used the BL feature on a PC for the first time. This cocky SAM WHO WAS A MENTOR! He pulled everything and got pissy when he died and did it again. Then started bossing people around. He was on another server so I'll never see him again. But yeah, over three years and I've used it on RMTs.

Had the sweetest SCH sprout in the vault yesterday. Was very receptive to feedback, listened to boss strats and somehow managed to keep everyone alive during claribert with an i110 weapon, bless :(. I was running as a PLD and my clemency hit for 2.5k ish while his physics hit for 1.5k ish. I have no idea what sorcery he pulled to not let a single person drop there but dam, at the end he got my com and I told him where he can buy some lvl appropriate gear from merchants, he thanked me and we went on our way. Then I remembered what cutscene he was about to watch, god speed lil SCH, god speed :(.

I havent been there, so i cant judge how the tank did, how you did or how your rdm friend did. But assuming he pointed out the rdm and not the mch, he may have been parsing.

MCHs are known to be in a real bad spot right now, but he mightve done better than your rdm friend (just to give a comparison: Ive done more overall dps on my frickin scholar, whos in a piss poor state right now, than some dps players). The problem is that RDMs are RIDICULOUSLY overpowered and to add to that, are braindead easy to play.
LIKE SERIOUSLY BRAINDEAD EASY.

RDMs have 1 AoE ability/cd (contre sixte), 1 AoE spell which is spammable (Scatter), and 1 skill which is (enchanted) moulinet, which is NOT a CD. But you only wanna use the enchanted version which needs black/white mana.
Spamming Scatter gets you Mana, and theres Manafication which doubles your current Mana. So all in all, you can dish out quite a few enchanted moulinets which add some crazy AoE dps.

Even only spamming Scatter does good dmg, especially because of the "Duality" trait making every second cast an instant cast. So *IF* he really failed to do even that, I may have kicked him too.
But then again, I wasnt there, I dont know all the circumstances.

Shout outs to the exceptional DPS I got in my 50-60 roulette (Sohr Khai). Qued as Paladin and our healer left as soon as the duty commenced. Still, with Clemency and some fast focused fire from the DPS, we cleared it with no problem. Even the final boss was a breeze, as both Melee used their bloodbaths/Second Winds accordingly. TBH, it furthers laments the idea that healers who don't dps are lacking in contribution :P.

Did the final trial of SB for the first time.
Got completely overwhelmed by everything.
Was so focused on trying to keep people alive I didn't see people yelling at me to use LB3 in my chat until the last moment and we wiped.
Ended up getting yelled at by two people.

We did end up clearing after the fell off the edge and stayed dead for quite a bit of the fight, saying his mouse batteries died, or something at the beginning of our final try. The other healer and I managed to keep everyone else alive for the most part!
Gotta thank the group for sticking together even after blatant screw ups on my end.

So, The Praetorium (Main Scenario Roulette). I warn people with this (since I know it'll be speedran, because it always is at this point): Since it appears there are newbies here, you can choose between watching cutscenes or participating in the fights due to how groups rush it. Should you choose to participate in the fights, please note that you can watch any missed cutscenes at the innroom.

I also mention they can use the Escape button to skip cutscenes. I then get told: "I like your attitude and the fact you're helping other players, Nomfur. You're getting my comm for that." - that took ME aback. I'm a registered mentor (though crown wasn't up at this point). I'm also explaining to them the mechanics. Making them aware of important things, etc. Apparently it's a rare thing to see this happening. I thought it was just the right thing to do, mentor or not... I'm there, this random supportive red mage, in a see of apparent no helping people... At the end of the dungeon, I bid them farewell and to enjoy the story. I then leave the duty...

I tend to go in with the mindset of if someone wants it explained, they will ask and I will explain it(had Mentor before SB came out and Zurvan EX was added to the requirements...still need to clear that). Otherwise, I will let them do their thing, and if we wipe THEN I will say something first if need be. Which is usually in main scenario rou when we get CM since a LOT of people(especially the tanks/melee) forget about the key cards that drop from the two bosses(I've only been RDM recently on those runs, so I'm typically close to the doors we need to go through after).
