Since the player being voted is not paticipated to the vote, therefore 2/3 votes (the initiator + 1 vote) to get kicked ^^;
You are right, there is 3 other people with you in that dungeon. But it's a respectful thing to do that if tank pulls only one set you don't go running around pulling more.
Maybe tank is first timer?
Maybe tank is tanking for the first time?
Maaaybe tank isn't that confident about his/her skills to pull bigger pulls?
Maybe, just MAYBE tank doesn't think/"trust" that group can kill fast enough big pulls that CDs don't run out and healer knows what to do?
I main WHM and tanking doesn't come that naturally for me but I really enjoy DRK. And I can honestly say that if you go ahead and pull more than I have, I most likely let you tank those mobs.
Op title is kind of misleading, you weren't booted for explaining, you were booted for purposely refusing to participate.
I have a story about a recent dungeon run on DD. I went in as an AST as I'm levelling it at the moment. We had a high level tank who was synched, a first timer drg and a lv 60 bard who was obviously synched. The bard refused to stay in the light to avoid the high damage from the boss flying around. I told the bard 4 times to move into the light with no response. When we got to the boss they were doing the same thing and taking loads of damage. Eventually I just let them die while the rest of us finished the battle. The bard then called us all noobs and said I forgot to heal them. I told them I let them die because they refuse to follow the basic dungeon mechanics. They left shortly after. I didn't feel good about letting them die but they clearly weren't a good team mate to begin with when they won't follow the dungeon mechanics.
...Which, ultimately, is exactly the problem. The initiator gets to remove 1 person's voting power. Not so much an issue in 8 person content but very noticeable effect in 4 person content.
If the OP had initiated the vote against one of those let-me-pull-for-the-tank clowns, it would have turned out very differently. Essentially, he's punished for not being the first to start a vote. (But on the plus side, tank instaqueues :D)
The tome grinding in this game has really led to poor community, where people are only concerned about getting their tomes as quickly as they can.
