As for the "touch FATEs and move on": Well: good luck with that if there are only 3-4 people in a zone. Atmas from failed FATEs are as of yet unconfirmed.

As you can see in my signature: I have my Atma. I was one of the lucky ones that only needed 390 Fates for my entire set. Doesn't mean I don't sympathize with people less lucky than me.

He did that yes.

With an army of 100+ people letting him hang out in each fate for 20 seconds and get silver.

He was doing fates at 5x the pace a 1-3 man fate farming team does. And thats what you usually find in zones these days.

If he didn't have 100 people turning it into super gatling-gun fatemode for him it would've taken easily over 30 hours at his drop rate, at least.

This will NEVER be a fair indicator, and was a farce from the second the stream began and we realized he had a personal farming army at hand.

I dare SE to do the challenge again, alone on a test server. Since 4/5 times you farm atma its alone. Lets see how many atma are earned in 14 hours then!

Might want to ask SE why they made everything in the Zodiac weapon questline easier to get than the Atma (not the weapon, just the Atma), then.

And to add and as others have already said: fighting low level monsters (compared to fighting Chimera, AK, Hydra, Ifrit, Garuda and Titan HM in the ilvl80 Relic quest, back when those were considered to be hard) is not hard. It's just boring. You don't feel like you accomplished anything after getting the Atma, you just feel like you wasted your time gathering 12 pieces of candy that only raise the ilvl of your weapon to 100.

Be that as it may, both sides of the aisle here, I do believe Yoshi said the Atma drop rate wasn't going to be increased. Someone can correct me if I wrong - and this is recently.

And if he stands by that, then he needs someone on his team to tell him "hey. People don't like grinding easy content for something that only ups its ilvl. I think it's time we made it 'do X amount of FATEs in X zone' now. People like seeing progress."

An increase is indeed not needed.
A safety net is, so that people actually get their drop after the average timeframe the DEVs calculated.

So why exactly are the 400 Fates another person does w/o getting rewarded worth less than my 390 Fates that netted me the weapon I desired?

People like you LOVE to throw around buzzwords like "instant gratification", "handouts" or "entitlement" but fail miserably when it comes to understanding the actual problem of the atma grind.

Hint: It's not that it's a time consuming grind.

The way atma is right now is perfectly fine. The quest line is not obligatory.
After doing the things i've wanted to do, i've found myself trying to combat boredom by farming a second set.
The length of the relic quest line guarantees that i have another month of goals, in time for 2.4.

Because not everyone has to get the same reward with the same amount of effort put in. If so, there wouldn't be people that killed T9 20+ times and not seen their weapon drop. As much as I complain about RNG, I understand its a staple of MMOs. Deal with it.
