Got blamed as AST in LoTA because I were using damage spells while 5 members of the party got a Behemoth's meteor in the face and died.

The blame came from the other healer. He also added "if you want do dps don't roll an healer". The same healer I had to heal before, because he so concerned with party's well-being that he hadn't time to heal himself, apparently.

You can figure out pretty much all non-savage content by looking at the markers or watching what the other players are doing. Dodging AoEs and killing adds are the most basic stuff ever. In some cases it might not be immediately obvious what you need to do, but seeing it once should be enough to give a basic idea.

Not all MMOs are the same. I was in raids in another MMO (I think it was Lord of the Rings Online but not 100% sure) where it was easier if you didn't kill the adds.

People are going to have different experiences in their MMO histories. Not everyone spends a lot of time in FFXIV raids or raids in any MMO. It's probably easier just to assume, when you enter any group whether it's through PF or a FC, that the people you're grouped with have had different experiences than you since it's 100% guaranteed that is the case.

The thing is though, even if people didn't enter any raids in FF XIV, they would have had to at least do dungeons if they were to progress through the game in some way. And dungeons teach a lot of basic mechanics. Even the open world teaches people to not stand in bad stuff through the Fate system. So as far as that goes, there isn't much of an excuse for standing in obvious scripted AoEs in end game content.

Obviously many factors come into play there. Some simply can't react fast enough. Others have really bad lag depending on where they live. I'm sure there are more factors outside of peoples' control at times. But if there is nothing affecting one's game play then...standing in bad stuff gives the impression of being lazy and unwilling to learn.

That's when you communicate, or try to even if you have to use the cross-language phrases built into the game. Whenever I've been in groups in the past (in other games) with people and they stood where they weren't supposed to stand, they either didn't see it because they were looking elsewhere or they were sidetracked by IRL stuff such as a kid or a spouse. It happens. Not everyone is able to dedicate 100% of their focus on a game due to external factors, and even when people ARE focusing on the game sometimes they don't see x because they're looking at y. That's especially true when things get chaotic.

In the end it's just a game. If people get upset over groups they find through PF then they should probably look for alternate sources for their parties, such as FC members whose abilities they're more comfortable with, if that's what will help them enjoy the game.

We shouldn't have to tell them not to stand in that large orange thing on the ground that clearly indicates damage is on the way. There is also a colorblind mode for people with that specific issue, so for them it'd be whatever color that is. It is one thing if there are multiple mechanics going on at once. Things can get dicey even for the most seasoned individual. But when there's one mechanic, and it is a circle, square, etc that clearly suggests that standing in it is bad, and people choose to stand in it repeatedly then...well, it's like I said above. As I mentioned already, there are many factors that can affect one's gameplay. I'm fully aware of that.

Did it have powerful crowd control by any chance? I recall in Anarchy Online it was common to mesmerize or root adds so they could not do anything to the players, and then just focus the boss. But that game had pretty ridiculous levels of crowd control.

Another thing is that sometimes it may be possible to ignore the adds, either by players positioning them in such a way that the adds can't reach them, or simply outgearing the content so much that it's possible to heal through the adds' damage. The encounter will not necessarily be easier without killing adds, but it will be faster, and that seems to be what matters to most players.

The level skip items make your character Lv70 without setting a foot in a single dungeon. You can then proceed to open the raids and enter them while being completely oblivious of how to play your class. The Lv80 raids are spared this fate, though it's evidently still possible for idiots to reach them. Yesterday I had a group in Copied Factory where the worst player died 13 times. Didn't even try to move out of AoEs. The second worst died 9 times during the raid. I probably should just have let them lay on the floor and saved the MP.

The ones who have various impairments usually are aware of their situation and may make it known to others. Those who stand in stupid and then rage to healers for not keeping them alive are just bad players.

You can't heal stupid.. and those 5 were probably stupid.
You can't heal 0 HP..
You can't heal instant KO.

Because when someone dies it's the healer's fault, obviously. Even if it wasn't. Because reasons.

The first step is admitting that everyone else has a problem
