I can't remember the dungeon name, the one with the NPC chilling in the back for the final fight against a dragon. We got to the fight against the poison cloud shooting enemy. The one where the bomb needs to suck up the gas clouds. One of the dps was new and we didn't have time to explain the mechanic before the tank went in. So this dps did their thing and got 11 stacks of a dot. Their hp was melting so fast that I had to constantly heal them. Eventually I realized it would be best to let them die and swiftcast raise.

So, I'm not really sure if this counts as story - certainly not a horro-story, but something that always irritates me a bit:
We did a factory-run today, the DPS set up is as follows: bard (me), blm and dragoon - all of them well geared, deepshadow weapons etc. And then we have a couple (same last name, so... go figure), a RDM and a dancer. Now, the thing that irritates me a little is that the dancer picks the RDM as dance partner - going by potential dps-output, both the BLM and the dragoon would be better choices and going by actual dps-output my bard would have been a better choice aswell.
While it seems fair to pick the person you know (and can therefor assume they have at least an idea on how to play) at first, wouldnt it make sense to... switch to one of the better options?

I know, I know - its not a big deal, specially not in that scenario (and maybe they werent paying attention to how everyone was doing etc.) but its just something that always makes me shake my head a little: couples buffing each other with no real rhyme or reason other than them being a couple. Maybe I'm doing this whole "playing with your partner"-thing wrong, because I'm only feeding him my buffs when I know hes the best person to recive them right now and vice versa.
Makes me wonder if the dance-partner status or an ast-card are an expression of affection - or if there would be a fight waiting if someone else got buffed...

Again, I know, not really a huge deal or anything - just something I stumble over from time to time and always think about as a little... odd.
(Maybe I'm taking this game to serious at times...)

Nah, I get it. Personally, I value efficiency above most everything else. So while I wouldn't make a big deal about it myself it would probably annoy me to no end too. It's like watching someone else play your job in a far less than optimal manner. I don't want to say anything, but it is painful to watch.

I feel so bad for leaving an Ultima's Bane fight due to FC activity. I queued in synced and forgot it was a bit difficult to do synced, especially with one healer leaving due to lag. Got up to 25% echo, but didn't think there would be time. Then again, if they got a better tank as replacement, might be a good thing that I left, maybe.

Used to main BRD before 5.1 ... maining SAM now.... and DRG's constantly give me the eye... *rawr*

I felt horrible.

Then I proceeded to do everything right...until I died again because of slow healing. But up until that point it was going much better than the previous attempt and we managed to clear anyway.

That's the best time to do it. If you do it while waiting the queue will inevitably pop while afk - and you will miss it, maybe get a 30 minute penalty. I do it all the time.

Hullbreaker Isle Hard. I didn't bother checking, or I could but some pieces of the SAM's gear was obviously broken. 18k HP and he was taking huge damage every hit he got. I payed special attention to him so he wouldn't die..

Gubal Library. The tank was alright, and very aware that she couldn't handle big pulls, but I just "O_o" and every single time she used Superbolide for no reason. The first time I was like "Ok I'm not gonna blow ED on this.." because nothing she was fighting had put her in any danger of dying and I had little trouble healing her even with the bigger-than-normal damage she was taking.

Not a bad story by any means, but I got the chance to tank the snake adds in Bismarck (HM) today as a Dancer while leveling my RP alt. The off-tank fell off during the phase transition and myself and the summoner both took turns tanking one of the snake adds off to the other side of the platform while the rest of the party tried to rally and kill the other add. Almost worked out as well! But both Second Wind and Curing Waltz being on cooldown ensured a tank buster eventually killed me while the healers were trying to keep the rest of the party alive, though they did awesome up till that point in keeping me alive for most of the add's health. We still ended up wiping to Bismarck's bubble beam due to having some newbies and the deaths, but second run was smooth as butter. The tank apologized even though it's not really his fault that fight hasn't been given an overhaul to ensure failing isn't permanent, and it was an overall pleasant experience.

And now I know dancer is OP, please nerf. Please don't.

But in that scenario, come back. Please.

I wonder how the one melee player that's always there in a sea of ranged players in large groups feels about being the target of every single card i draw as AST, because ranged cards don't exist.
