I have never actually heard of this website before this thread, is it very popular in some part of the world?

Ok there might be some merit in what you say but… you cannot believe in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance. Just because 2 people had an opinion about the game it does not mean that everyone else will.

From the videos I saw, the game does not look all that different to me. It seems to use the same mechanics as the old FFXIV. I am sure there are some differences, and a lot of the issues were corrected. But it seems like the same game, and this is not necessarily a bad thing. I would like to use an interface that I am somewhat familiar with, and most people probably would. So a completely different game wouldn’t be my idea of ARR.

Also, it seems that she was comparing GW2 to ARR, and that is very unfair. If at every turn, a reviewer is going to compare how ARR is different from GW2, then ARR never had a chance. The reviewer will give his/her biased opinion about certain game mechanics and how he/she feels it should work. That is a biased comparison and a biased review.

Sadly most people do not think critically, and are unable to see through the BS, or at least consider there might be some BS involved. So, debating this is an utter waste of time. All we can do is wait, and see if the game meets our expectations when it comes out.

I'll be honest, if thats the kind of attitude this man displays when dealing with a community who rightfully gave constructive criticism (I never once saw any trolling posts in the comments section, so I'm only seeing what I can see here) about an incorrectly researched article, then he isn't worth getting mad about.

I honestly feel pity for him and that site's readerbase if his attitude to constructive criticism over a badly researched article is to block said critique. It's clear he will not expand his scope as a "Journalist", nor will he be viewed as anything other than a child throwing a tantrum for being corrected.

I want to try and be fair and understanding to the guy, but he does not really make himself look like a decent person when dealing with this.

And for everyone's information. War Hammer Online started the whole dynamic event. And it was done very well. That is were Rift got its concept from.

Its obvious this women is a young'n, or is just very in-experienced, with MMO's. Either way, I blame her editor for posting this dribble, unless that was their plan all along. (Troll starts trolling, we feed the troll by going to their website, reading and spreading the flames over the internet)

Obviously you havn't played Warhammer online. Yoshi is directly quoted, as to saying, "the FATE system is directly and inspiration from War Hammer's Public questing". FATE is more to War Hammer, than FATE is to GW2.

And GW2 questing system, is a mash between WoW quests and Rifts' rifts. So yah I can look at other MMO and compare. GW2 has done nothing special except that map exploration. Thats the only thing GW2 has that a cool feature, its maps are very detailed.


Its kinda annoying to see people write these articles on a genre, they have no prior knowledge of its history.

Its a continuation of the same story. Nothing was concluded in 1.0.In fact things where just starting to get interesting.

Its like the t.v show "Person's of Interest". They flash forward & flash back, a lot in that show and its still the same episode.

You can have time lapses in a story, but doesn't mean your watching a sequel. We just have to wait have a year for the Team to get the game going again, because they had to pause to make adjustment to the storyline.

Well if you wanna go further, before WarHammer, Tabula Rasa had dynamic defence/assaults on outposts in the game world. Before Tabula Rasa, FFXI had besieged and campaign. So who's copying who?

Sounds like SE is taking one from their playbook, just adjusting it for the times.

Sorry but I find it hard to take anyone seriously who enjoys GW..
I installed that with all expansions and uninstalled it just as fast..
