I have stated this I am fine with more options I want more options for casters I would at the minimum let that dow and casters had the same freedom as tanks. Meaning that tanks can wear , dow, and caster gear thats three different options. Dow only has two options and casters pretty much can only wear caster gear aside from the one tiny metal chest piece that someone else linked.

But I also said looking at the post of the op, it is no way I can disagree with them if Im being fair how can I tell someone that boots are off limits just because they are job specific, like boots that distinctive enough that you no instantly which job it is. So that being said to open to door for the small things like the op is asking you could only do it in a way to where you just unlocked the whole system as a whole. Unless they made some sort of system to where you can only use certain items from a job. So I am not specifically saying I only want to do it this way , what Im saying is that what other way is possible for people like the op to get their choice in glamour aside from getting rid of the whole system as it currently is.

Sad this has to be a requested topic so much since its pretty much a no-brainer.

Live..and let live. To each...his own. Drop A L L glam restrictions. If an armor piece has successfully found its way into your armory crate...its yours to glam on A N Y job.

If the thought of seeing soft wooly robes of a whm glamoured atop the valiant sturdy armor of your pld upsets you (lol) and makes you feel you're being unfaithful to the time-honored history of all things ff past and present.....THEN JUST DON'T GLAMOUR IT. But stop trying to forced that 'I only want limited creative options and I want others subjected to this rule too' viewpoint on others. If you only wanna color your picture with 5 crayons, stop interfering with the other kid who reaches for the box with 20.

FF14 boasts some really great armor designs, really unique. The Lion set for war/pld from pvp..the bushy tail for blms, some of the cool mnk gear for mnks, etc. The current problem is that they're locked to each job glamour-wise. Many of us who simply enjoy making up cool designs would love to take just one or 2 pieces (no...not the whole damn set as some here keep using as a justifiable arguement not to allow) and impliment them into another set to create something altogether new. By lifting the restrictions..those options jump from 5 to 30 kinds of options to choose from.

Yet a couple of you exceedingly intelligent people here seem to come up with any number of reasons NOT to allow this:

1. New players, myself included even though Ive been playing ff for liek 3 years, will be unable to distinguish between jobs. This will have a detrimental effect on my overall expereince.

Alright. Give me even ONE realistic scenario where this has detrimental consequence? Let me see...seeing a pld-miqo running around in red bikini garb makes you feel like the typical ff pld can't take a lot of damage and is squishy, which in turn makes you wanna change your future line of work? Well gee..we're already suffering from that.

2. It makes no sense lorewise.

But currently, seeing a plump lala drg running through the frosty streets of Ishgard in a t-shirt and a summer hat does? The lore arguement was shot in the back, then face, the minute they started releasing LvL. 1 glams years ago.

and the best excuse of all...

3. I just don't want it allowed. We already have enough glam options.

Good..then as said above...if said restrictions DO get lifted...you can be that self righteous guy/gal who stanchly REFUSES to utilize the increased options.

And ya, Ive seen how some here who are against the idea have tried to take it to the extreme with the 'Well if thats how you feel..lets allow weapons and skills to be glamed/crossed over too' agruement. For your sakes, since you particularly seem to need more clarification, I'll state clearly that this is only with reference to armor glams and nothing more.

The BIGGEST issue here...is that many of us would love to take pieces of existing armor sets and intigrate them into others to make a completely new look...and we can't. Thats the problem we want fixed. Those of you worried about people glaming on entire armor sets from alternate jobs need to chill lol. (I mean...not like you can't just use the check option to see what they really are, or are you just too lazy to do that if you have issue with such?)

...like I said..find it laughable (being polite there) that this is even an issue. From an artistic standpoint, its a no-brainer.

The MNK wear is mostly, understandably, cloth/leather but I still want to have sick gauntlets and boss helm wear.

Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting your heavy hitter to be able to fight in a robe you'd normally find on a DoM. Tales of series put their MNK in a big dumb dress and the DRK equivalents in full cloth craft.

What I don't understand is all of the arguments that it would "stray too far from the jobs identity" and "lore" and so on and so on in this game of magic called Final FANTASY. People don't seem to grasp that it's a glamour either. A magical spell. In a land of Fantasy. Glamour originally was a term applied to a magical-occult spell that was cast on somebody to make them see something the spell-caster wished them to see, when in fact it was not what it seemed to be. It's magic. It doesn't need to have a logical explanation or to make sense.

So we have this amazing world of Fantasy and Magic that people want arbitrary restrictions on forrrrrrrr.........reasons.

Saw this thread and had to post here too. If people don't like the idea of a WHM looking like a DRG, just to give one example, then just don't glamour YOUR character to look like that. Don't punish the rest of us too because of this lame excuse that you don't like the way other people are going to look.

You can currently not glamour what you can't wear because of technical limitations - not because of lore or logic. Gear could stay job specific even if glamours of the gear was not.
That a look would change from 'cool' to 'meh' just because it is no longer restricted to a certain job is just plain stupid and ridiculous. Looks are not better because they are job-specific - quite the opposite in fact.

Because this game is Final Fantasy. It's in the name for goodness sake. Why should a game about fantasy be bound by rules of logic and reason?

This. If Alphinaud can brave the snow in those straps he calls clothes, I can actually put on clothes. Oh wait, I can't. Cloth shoes that would soak up snow in an instant it is! (Assuming someone out there who wants to be dressed for the weather would think this, bikini armor all day yo. I'm magic!)

Like, spot the WAR, DRG(may be kinda obvious), and NIN. Their world's fashion is pretty close to XIV's in terms of ambiguously modern depending on where you are. And they have the same types of cities and general fantasy locations. What's wrong with their clothes being applied to their roles? If anything I think the role specific armor should stay with NPCs since you, as the WoL, can stand out and be the primal slaying monster killer you are. You got the Echo, go nuts.

It's funny, i read all the pages of this thread and instead of asking more variety, you just want to ruin the concept of the AF, just because someone wants the boots from a job for another, or a pants, or a panty or... I don't know. :/
