How is BLM in new expansion?

So you are saying the groups that cleared with Summoner never enraged ? For all you know, 50% of their wipes could've been avoided if they partied with a BLM. Jeez, why am I wasting my time on this.

So you're saying a group that hit enrage is 50% because they brought a summoner instead of a black mage? It couldn't possibly be anyone else's fault? people dying? healer not dpsing enough? Tanks not dpsing enough? Of course not. it's because summoners were doing 5% less dps than blm!

I am saying they could've cleared faster and easier if they brought a BLM. Also, lol @ calling me a terrible summoner. Guess randoms will stay randoms. I am also not the one crying for BLM buffs and struggling to get really high numbers with it.

The difference in time to kill a target with 1 million health with a group doing 2500 dps and 2530 is 4 seconds.
I guess yes they could've killed it faster. woopdifreakingdoo, someone's cat could've caught on fire during that 4 seconds. i'm glad black mages were here to save the situation!

A clear is a clear. Why does it matter if a group could kill something faster if they had X job instead of Y?
Hell, let's go a little further and say a group could kill a boss faster without Casters at all. DRG, MNK, NIN and BRD. BLM's and SMN's are irrelevant as neither have debuffs that benefit other DPS (Disembowel, Dragon Kick, Dancing Edge).

All I'm seeing is, "Oh no. BLM is too hard now, I'm going to switch SMN so I can do better dps and ppl will want me more." lulz to all of that. BLM is fine, you just need to git gud

Fact is, if you can't pick up BLM and can't play it effectively, then switching to SMN isnt going to help you. If you are running a static and your current BLM isn't pulling adequate numbers, you need to replace the player, not the job. Don't discount a BLM from your group because you are under the impression they are weak and ineffective and summoner is better. You just need to find a player who can play the job effectively which is absolutely 100% completely doable
