A consern about space efficieny since stormblood is not getting enough space increase

Unable to obtain the cracked cluster. Your inventory is full.

Start putting currency in a currency tab, this is ridiculous now. Also in wow if this happens they automatically mail you the item lost. What is going on here?
Also the game managed to squeeze in 150 gil music scroll and some gear I do not care about in my inventory, but not the most valuable item, makes sense. If they can't increase our room then start decreasing items. Music scrolls should not be taking space, clusters should have a higher priority then useless gear. Game has too many items. Or better yet, cracked clusters really should in a currency tab. Why does this game have so much currency put in inventory?

Why were you going around with a full inventory? That seems to be a problem that would have been easily solved.

They need to do something with Key Item tab...

Excellent point. I don't think I've ever had more than 10 key items in that tab at a time. That's tons of free space opened up right there.

Because there is not enough room in the game! I hold on crafting materials to replace what gets sold. I only got room for what little space is in my bag + my material retainer, the rest is glams. We have no glam log, we have too much items as crafting materials, we have too many muti step crafting, I can't really fish or do cul because of the lack of room.

I craft, I glam, forced to hold on currency, like the cracked clusters, I put them in my currency retainer I do not have enough room to be carrying around all the different currencies in the game.. we need a currency tab... that is why.

Normally in wow it just sends the missing item to your mailbox automatically, I do not understand why this game lets you lose currency due to not giving you enough space to hold items

Yeah, that's a pretty big oversight. It's not like it hurts them to cover for this kind of situation...

Why is it so hard to get recovery in this game? Like I do not get it, since this game is hand me stuff, it is not like anything is particularly valuable and risks upsetting some kind of "balance" I can understand being questionable in FFXI (is this guy trying to easy way to something that takes 2 years to get?) But for this game when the average lifespan of gear is 1-2 months? Why care as much?

I say give us an extra retainer per expansion and we shouldn't have any issues at all.

This is hopelessly optimistic. Even if it lasted to the next expansion, we would be having this discussion again at that time. This is a systemic issue.

esp when people do not have enough room having 8 right now due to keeping items for glams and large amount of crafting materials needed to craft.

Why should maps be stackable if you can't have more than 1 of the same map anyway?
gathering collectible I can understand, if more than 1 have the same collection number.
It is the same reason why NQ and HQ items don't stack together

Would be nice if there was some way to stack complete, or even partial, gear sets. Then the "gear stack" would only take up one slot.

A bit like the "box" that you get for the rdm and sam quests, but backwards. Oh, and you can glamour from it, because, you know, we like convenience. :)

Being able to box up the PLD item set, or the WHM item set, now that I'm no longer using it. That would be amazing and would go a long way tbh. I'd make it full sets only though (except maybe minus the weapon due to shared gear sets for healers, tanks, casters, ranged, and SAM/NIN, artifact gear however could be full set including weapon, and shield for PLD). Would be nice to clear out different sets that are taking a lot of room. Perhaps you could then store the boxes in the armoire too? Would mean more items, but less items at the same time, if that makes sense.

That actually sounds similar to how the gear storage worked in 11. Way to much gear spread over way to many jobs. Their dev team came up with a solution. Not a great solution, but with limited resources devs have to be creative. Or just blame the player base and hardware. I guess both work.

So Basically if I understood the warnings and the way it seemed to work (it has been a long time). You trade all the gear to the Moogle. Then he gave you a holding slip. But it felt like the moogle was actually a vendor and the slip was currency. If you lost the slip the gear could not be restored. So instead of figuring out a way to store something on each character with hardware limitations. They created a vendor that just needed to have the gear for sale for an item you could only get by trading(selling?) gear to it.

are you having people mail you maps? or do you have separate accounts you mail yourself with?
I'm just curious, I do treasure hunts but dont always have time to go do my map a day, or people to do the group ones with.

The game took a lot of protections though, you could not toss the slip or get rid of it unless it did not hold anything.

It basically worked like this, One slip would hold AF gear, so for this game say all the 45-50 job specific gear, on one slip, so that is up to 75 gear slots for 1 slot of space, then they had +1 gear( our augmented equivalent) on a different slip and just kept going.

So if they have to do that here we would need AF, AF augmented, AF 90, AF 200, AF 210, AF 290, mog station slip,
Im not sure for the rest, would like some crafter and gather sets, ironworks, ... OH~!
ironworks set, augmented ironworks set, augmented shire, shire, diabonlic set, the set that drops in weeping, the set that drops in void ark, the set that drops Labyrinth of the ancients, set that drops syrcus tower, world of darkness, Coil gear, Alexander gear, deltascape gear, fate glam slips... Now that I think about this, I am not sure if that slip system would work for this game, because this game as way more sets and gear then FFXI did. Now if you consider the ages of the game, it is quite impressive of the turn over rate this game has for gear. You wonder why people complain about space so much and those that want glamor from the different places? well now you know, too much gear, too little room, too much items.

We really just need a new inventory management system, they basically addmiting retainers can't handle anymore.. so if part of the reason is because they interact with the MB, hold their own gil , etc, straining the server for more memory, then it needs to be split off and make a new system, bank like every other game in existence, they can sell more pages to the bank for a 1 time fee, while people put items up on the mb themselves.

Well you can have more than one at the same time you just need to store them on your retainers or send them per mail. I do also question why we cant just stack them. You can only gather them onces a day anyway so its not like we would have too many maps around.

Well one needs to be friends to be able to send stuff so I am guessing that they just send them to friends. Kinda like: Send them to friends and let them send it back to you. This way you will have them in your mail and as long as you dont open them you can stock them there.

As others have said you can have one open and one in your inventory. It is not hard to code it so we could have multiples of the same in the inventory
This would be a QOL improvement for gatherers and save up space

Simple, logically change it not to be set to unique anymore.

Any more ideas? I was told they where supposed to have some LL on the 14th? did that happen or? I can't find anything really if they said anything new or responded to inventory issues.

In fact, he says they want to change the whole concept of the inventory bag. But this part looks like it's not gonna be any time soon.

In regards to the gear storage system in FFXI, even though the moogle talked about losing the slip and therefore losing the armor set, you technically couldn't lose the slip since the game has a temporary key items list. The slips went into that list and far as I knew when I last played, you can't remove those key items unless you're interacting with the thing that uses them, which is the moogle taking the slip and giving your gear back and vice versa when trading in the whole gear set to get the slip back. But since SE doesn't want FFXIV to work that way...

I will remain skeptic about any changes, especially since they mentioned that App again. Also it seems that any changes are still quite far away.

Hopefully in the future they will make it so Extreme Tokens also becomes apart of the Currency tab. Eat my inventory until my other jobs are leveled!

Yep it is a good start but not the end of things. raid tokens, 24 man upgrade tokens, there is a lot of currency still to be taken care of.

I really have to boggle at how it is taking them so long to do these things.

That is great and it is one of the things on the list to fix bloat. I want to make some bitter comment about timeline and why to begin with. But instead WOOHOO!! They are maybe seeing the root of the problem and will show better insight going forward. Not more space, but better use of the space in game.

Hopefully this thread stays alive, my sub will be running out soon, I wish you all GL along with SE completely fixing the problem (note adding space and slowly fixing currency bloat is just the first step, the problem wont be fixed completely till glam log) along with adding the other currencies to it, like fate drops, Sassho-seki Fragment, ixion horn, etc, raid currencies, Deltascape Shaft, etc. Prob can do that to aetherite tickets too.

Welp maye a higher up from a befriended company needs to tell Yoshida that they have no inventory space left and need a glamour log..since somehow this managed to bring back that horrible Yokai event..

Do we know what currency they are moving to the currency tab, how the items are going from inventory to it and if they are going to work on doing it with other currency? like primals and such.. I suspect ventures and such is only the first step, I hope they have more planned.
