Second Wind II does wonders

As I've said before, as part of a learning curve to train yourself to know the fight itself before actually tackling the full difficulty fight. Again, this is another point I've had to repeat myself. I'm getting sick of people not reading the thread in full and reading the suggestions FULLY.
Stop cherry-picking things to pick at, and start looking at the suggestions in their full context. Just because you don't like one part of it doesn't mean you should be condemning the whole thing right off the bat.

1. the set of circumstances or facts that surround a particular event, situation, etc.
Another point of contention I have. Are you asking me to level up all of my DoW/DoM classes to 37+ just so I can survive a single Ifrit fight? Go soak your head.
I did say previously that the party was of REASONABLE SKILL, not superb or perfect like Jesus friggin' Christ. I don't want to exclude my friends just because they can't hold enmity or can't manage their heals properly, etc. That's just gonna open up a new can of worms I don't want to deal with.
i can't believe this thread is actually 24 deep ahaha
Yes, yes you can. Unless you are getting hit by every single eruption or plumes you can keep yourself up with just second wind 1 and sac/cure 2. You aren't even getting past 50% when he jumps and dashes three times instead of one, and if you wanted to could disengage and get 700-800 HP back from the start of the jump to the last.
Ifrit's damage output isn't even an issue if you just position correctly and don't take avoidable damage, please stop saying otherwise cause it's like the 10th time I've told you in your various topics.
Just expressing my disdain at the idea of having to grind EVERYTHING just to be able to defeat Ifrit. That's another element of bad design that I hope will be resolved with the Job system...
It's avoidable yes. However, the lag issues can be part of the problem. Both technical, and HUMAN. By human lag issue, I'm referring to REACTION TIMES. Some people can be slow, sometimes because they have NEVER been fast in their lives.
Believe me, I've been doing my best to evade the damage...It's not easy, and it's not supposed to be easy. The problem is that I simply cannot recognize every possible element to the fight and be able to adjust accordingly. THAT is my limitation.
That's just common sense, though. Just run up and white-swing him until he does something.
What do you mean only targets one area? When he lights up, he starts throwing out 3 eruptions. You saying that they'll all follow the same person or something?Quote:
Putting all DDs or Mages together is because of the human error factor. If mages have to emergency cure the rank and they are targeted by Eruption, if they are together they are all dead. All your mages dead = extremly high chance of wipe. Same with DDS all your dds die you screw yourself because it will wipe the mages mp dry. Also separating everyone makes ifrit only target 1 area, leaving the other areas free to dmg/cure. So putting everyone in 1 place is a bad thing.
And you seem to be missing the point that a "lesser" fight doesn't train you to do anything for the real fight. Also, your "point" keeps changing, so maybe you should decide on a stance before continuing.
It was someone merely offering a suggestion. You can survive ALL of Ifrit's attacks without Sentinel, Second Wind II, etc. etc.
They do, however, help make it easier which is...GASP...something you want!
Then don't use it as an example. It falls back to "some people shouldn't do content if they don't have the skills."
