There's no reason to wait. Media tour shows game is still broken. Hope this helps.

I agree strike isn't the correct terminology, the right word is protest. But I think though that it is being used symbolically, as in, if you are going to replace the healer with lackluster tools that can absolutely replace them on other jobs (as that is the term used in the game), then they might as well not be there. As for the wait for it argument, I don't think it is right using that, as it is moot point given the feedback has been asked for. A protest is a means of feedback, it shows that the feedback you have been listening to over the years, depending on the size of the protest, isn't a good source of it; assuming feedback is even being heard. And from the likes of it, what was seen in the preview was enough to make that decision to protest... since the issues haven't been adhered to, the whole saying of for every spark there is it will eventually lead to a flame.
People selling runs? Sure let them, it only adds to how much of a problem the healer role faces.
The issue is getting a sample that is reliably representative of the larger playerbase. The two types of samples we're discussing here are voluntary (forum posters) and convenience (people in our FC's), which in the statistics world are widely known for being two of the most unreliable ways of getting samples. It's general human nature for people to group up with other like-minded people, so your FC is more likely to reflect your own thoughts rather than the wider world. For example, the FC I'm in doesn't complain about healers at all...which makes sense, because if I was in an FC that just complained all the time, chances are really good I would find a different FC that is more in line with my own thoughts. Human nature. The potential "danger" is using an unreliable sample that just ends up resulting in confirmation bias rather than an accurate view of what's really going on.
No, a group of elite veteran streamers being able to do something doesn't mean anything is "broken." Things are "broken" when something applies to your typical, average player. Not to your no-lifer who has become one of the top few of the top few players and is able to play at a level most of the playerbase isn't anywhere close to.Quote:

I think this is an awesome thing. Having a literal price on healer queues emphasizes, very directly to the entire playerbase, that there is a premium on healer participation because of how much scarcer it now is.
This is far better than intangibly waiting for 25 mins while you're just watching Netflix anyways.
The whole community will see just exactly how scarce healers are. And when the price goes up that just means supply is shrinking even further.
Imagine how much more noticeable the problem would be if 200k for a healer queue becomes a new norm in DT.
average ''this doesn't affect me so I don't care'' mentality
Love the go-to response of ''just play something else'' as if this game doesn't run on a trinity based system where you need every role in DF to even get a queue to pop. One role being underplayed impacts everybody, and with some content you NEED healers to even get past the front door (i.e high end content, trials, raids). You're not fixing the problem by saying that, you're just swapping it out with another.
Yes, every job has been dumbed down, but to think healers are in the same boat as every other role is tone deaf. At least you get an actual DPS rotation, I just get to mash one button for 90% of an encounter with no stimulation or thought anywhere else. And I've had. enough.

Where do you think "typical, average players" look to to get their opinions on how to play and what to think about the game? I remember how many MINE PFs showed up overnight from WoWfugees joining and thinking MINE of 10 year old content is "hardcore" and "the way its meant to be played" even though that's nonsense just because some streamer said so. Why was something like this even allowed to be demonstrated in a media tour that's meant to paint the game in a good light when all it did is show how useless healers are in DT? All it did is plant the seed for people to prefer do 1 Tank 3 DPS speed runs of current content like they do for glam runs of old content.
Lots of low empathy moments I see...
So what is it? Can we choose not to play healer or are we forced to play healers to fill queues? Are we free to choose what we want to play or is it a problem when we queue as dps? We are tired of seeing the healer role be an absolute joke in this game. If you want an instant queue you are free to play healer.
You have to be joking. WAR can clear dungeons on their own. They do not need to be elitist or streamer. Party can go down, WAR will just knock out the boss.
As seen in 6.0...now in 7.0 once again.
And don't tell me it's encounter design in casual content. It's not.
