Was any of the 6.3 content worth waiting 4 months for?

Indeed, who could have forseen that another copypasted modern glam of which we have an infinite number of already would not have been enough to get people to run Criterion with any regularity. Or was it the giant "Throne" mount that was the reward for that level of difficulty? Either way it was a hilariously bad showing.

Whether they learn their lesson for 6.45's Criterion Dungeon is anyone's guess.

7.0 is probably going to be more of the exact same. Decently long MSQ, two trials, a few dungeons, hunts, the same old stuff we get in every x.0 expansion. Wouldn't be surprised if the graphics update gets pushed back to .1 or .2 too.

One random person saying they're currently doing other things != anything in any fashion about the existence of content in the game. I've posted a bunch of times about the considerable "to-do" list of things I'm looking forward to in FFXIV that span ARR-era content (last ARR relic weapon) to EW (Criterion + IS), and yet I've only played once or twice in the past couple weeks because I cycled for a bit to the season end of Destiny 2 and a bit more of the Warcraft 3 Reforged campaign. All of that content will still be there when I cycle back to playing primarily FFXIV again...

If hunts are going to be as boring as in EW, Im quiting being a train conductor. I just cant bother. Also, the graphic update is just some shaders and hi-res textures, smt people can do already with mods if they want to. But that doesnt make better content.

Cool. Now imagine this. People came back to 6.3... just to get back really fast. Thats the problem. No way to keep people engaged until relic grinds release

Like how there wasn't anything back in 5.3 to keep us occupied until Bozja and the relics were added in 5.35? Or like how there wasn't anything to keep us occupied in 4.3 until HoH came out in 4.35 and Pagos came out in 4.36? The middle of expansion patches are constantly like this.

This is purelly subjective, and as I told before in this thread, its not only matter of the quantity of the content, but also quality. I loved farming SoS, Nier raid, flying in ARR was really nice, and imagine this - ranked PvP reward I could go for. None of that I feel in current release.

Also, because its been like that for past years, it doesnt mean its ok! They should seriously start looking into schedule for daily activities sooner than 2 months after big patch.

I love how people are conveniently forgetting that Stormblood gave us an entire relic zone back in 4.25. Now? All we got was being strongarmed into doing the Hildibrand quests to unlock the relic which is about as riveting as Island Sanctuary gameplay and then a tome grind. Criterion died in less than 72 hours. Anemos had people going back in it daily. You know, the thing no small amount of us want out of an MMORPG?

Instead of making any sort of progress all I see are steps backwards.

With SHB you can argue that the pandemic kind of got in the way of stuff. Which it did. But eventually they got back on track.
Square insists FF16 isn't getting in the way of 14's development.

We're actually having more time between patches too, we should have a similar amount of work brought out.

Caveat to consider: they're working on content that will be released in the future, which likely requires a lot more work to be done than the features we've seen now.

That's funny...most I know personally DO use Sanctuary to relax. Who says you have to collect anything? I haven't and it still serves as a nice relaxation location.
Next you say there's no difficult content anymore. I suppose that means you have all the Extremes, Unreals, Savages and Ultimates done yes? No incentive at all to do any content...is that why Party Finder is full every day of the week? If there's no incentive at all how can this be the case hm?

Recent bugs (none gamebreaking might I add), broken MB economy (server dependant from what I've seen though the term broken isn't exactly clear), outdated visuals...this one is interesting. To me there's no such thing as "outdated" visuals. Anything can look good as the style is the important factor (again my opinion. And lastly archaic systems such as what?
