Most Hated XIV Character

I want to say all Scion members—except for Tataru. Of course, if I have to pick just one, it's definitely Alphinaud. I know it's cheesy to pick him because of his supposed redemption arc, but I always felt he got away with all his crimes far too easily.

He brazenly used Scion funds to buy expensive goods and never paid back Tataru's debt. Nothing was confirmed, but we all know Tataru has something planned for him.

Yes, creating the Crystal Braves broke him, but it was his mistake, and it's hard to forgive that. What came next was worse. After failing to create a simple guild, he immediately jumped into playing politics—the absolute worst idea, considering they were just children! They traveled to a foreign land and accidentally got two civilians killed. Then came the trauma: Oh no, why are we here? We shouldn't be doing this! One minute later, they're negotiating with the opposition's commander, who then shoots himself because the twins didn't uphold their end of the bargain by our allies "rescuing" them. Huge lack of communication.

He comes from a rich family and has a grandfather who is a hero. I hate to say it, but he's just a spoiled nepobaby coming from a pretty isolated, first-world country who possesses a snobbish superiority complex and harbors lofty ideals of rescuing the more unfortunate "lesser" countries. He's nothing more than a foreign activist, and it's hard to not see that from my perspective lol. But that's my reason to hate him.

Haurchefant. Waste of space. Even the skeevy JP version was better than the EN version, but generally speaking, he is the epitome of boring. Arenvald is, too, but he doesn't have a crazy fanbase the way Haurchefant does.

Not a single character but Ascians in general.
It just got so old and boring by the end of Endwalker that anything and everything is related and caused by them.

The thing that annoys me the most about Haurchefant isn't even the character himself. He was just average, didn't hate him but wasn't losing my mind over him either.
What annoys me is that they keep bringing him back every chance they get, the man's been dead for years, let him rest.


As for my pick, there are honestly too many.
G'raha is definitely a top contender after they reduced him to the WoL fanboy.
Y'shtola has the personality of cardboard.
Wuk Lamat had the misfortune of being the story's protagonist...a story that was incredibly badly written, with more holes than swiss cheese in it. Wuk Lamat basically fails upwards for the entirety of 7.0.
Asahi is designed for you to hate him.

But currently Calyx is probably at the top of the list.
It's like someone watched Death Note, thought it was the best thing since sliced bread and then based an antagonist entirely around an insufferable anime character trope.

Since this threat was Necro'd and seems like people tiptoe around it...
I'm just gonna drive that jeep through the front door.

Wuk Lamat

Whiny, annoying, yapping, clingy, dumb Black Hole Sue.
Never before have I started skipping cutscenes but I did so frequently when it looked like a "people just talk cutscene" whenever Wuk Lamat opened her mouth.
She yapped on and on without providing anything to the story most of the time.

Then the universe bent around to make sure her asinine ideas or decisions somehow by sheer dumb luck are correct, or gained undeserved power ups.
Just like a nepotism hire she just failed upwards.

And bonus point:
The voice acting in EN was so unbearable that I had to switch to a different language, but switched back to EN as the more interesting parts of DT happened and I wanted to not miss things.
I shouldn't have had tho cause I was hit full force with the "Speeeen, lissun tu mih...." scene due to that.

There were other characters I disliked and before DT I may have had to list a few cuz they were so close together for me.
But Wuk Lamat in DT blew it not only out the water, she obliterated the entire seashore.

So yeah, my most hated character by continents is Wuk Lamat.

Wandering Minstrel - He don't look like Naoki Yoshida to being with.

I don't understand a single song he sang LOL!

Right now it's definitely Calyx for me. I can't stand the anime trope of a cool, collected, emotionless super-genius brat... and I'm really not looking forward to having to deal with more of him in upcoming content. Finally got me excited about eliminating the brat only to then show he's tied in with Ascians, which means we got another annoying Fandaniel all over again.

This 100% my vote for the worst 14 character

Wuklamat. She is poorly written and cringe.

It used to be Zenos, who was an edgelord in SB and became another annoyance in EW as he could just have been removed and the story would have stayed the exact same, but Calyx now seriously takes the cake for me. I can't stand his anime trope.
