Mordion Gaol is a bad system

man if i could actually sell raises mid combat that'd be pretty impressive, ngl. im not angry i got sent to gaol, tho i don't think just bc i have a raise macro that said selling raises (again, mid combat and in normal content) warranted me getting sent to GM gaol, while a real person read the macro and even reposted it to me still claiming i sold content for real money. but if you can't tell the difference, not point in this discussion i guess lol

i don't think its you that can tell the difference. you see it as a joke. the person who obviously reported you didn't see it as a joke and even the gm's took it as you are selling content. despite it saying what it does and you seeing it as humor. it doesn't cover up the fact someone reported you for it and the gm's seen it as rmt content selling. like dude get a clue that you just shouldn't have made that macro in the first place. then gaol wouldn't have happened lol. like your attitude is up there with "its just a joke, i don't get why they took it seriously"

no. i most definitely can tell the difference, and know for a fact that i cannot actually sell raises mid combat while actually raising said person without charging them. i honestly don't care i got sent to gaol, i was just making a statement that their system is flawed. the strike on my account was years ago and is no longer there.

but let's say it isn't. you're so determined to say that its RMT, and that the GMs took it as RMT and didn't just misread it and when faced with the fact that they did, they were embarrassed so they went ahead and gave me a strike. why did the legitimate RMT seller in limsa remained despite being reported ? why did all those actual RMT sellers (and still are matter of fact) in PF at the time of me getting that strike still there - not just for a week, but for YEARS. same people, same name. so tell me again how this system isn't flawed?

i awknowledged a few times that you probably seen the macro as humorous. however the person who reported you and the gm's didn't. also pointing out it was in fact YOU who said the gm said that you were rmt content selling. read back to what you wrote. Did you for once not stop to think that YOUR WORDING IN THE MACRO might give this type of response eventually lol. did you try to explain that the macro was a joke macro at all? like important and if you never did then whatever lol. Just think you should have realized the wording on it might get you into trouble one day no matter how funny it is.

as for the RMT bots. you know as much as they ban the buggers, more are made. Also for the longest time the rmt content sellers weren't against the tos in party finder. wasn't until what 2 months ago that changed and its nice and clean now here on aether. if you see them in pf on crystal, report it. within a hour or 2 they usually take it down and ban the account.

I never did say the system wasn't flawed. i just said in your case it was deemed warranted to pull you in by the gm's. your own wording on your macro did you in. despite how much you want to fight the logic. the wording is what did you in lol.

What they basically did could have honestly been dealt with in a tell while I was online. This extreme process was unnecessary. The entire Mordian Gaol system needs an overhaul. It's so bad for mental health, and honestly at risk of being incredibly corrupt.

I am disappointed. My experience felt incredibly unethical.

Coming off a similar issue, I agree this is not the way to handle things. Especially with people who have been invested monetarily in the game for years. Threatening accounts without saying why is completely unethical.

I imagine if you were a RMT you'd get treated better.

yes, of course i explained it to them it was a joke and that it was literally impossible for me to sell a raise. i left that out of my original post because it wasn't the point. i wasn't even mad when i went to gaol, it was humorous then, and still is now. again, my point of the post isn't that i was sent to gaol. it's that its a flawed system no matter how you look at it. you may defend the GM, who is a professional and is paid to investigate cases like this to determine if the report is warranted. they knew i wasn't selling content for real money, because if i was, i wouldn't have just gotten a strike, i would have gotten banned (and the reason i didn't was probably because i explained that it was impossible.) simply put, they misread the macro and only realized it once i had explained it to them. if they had given me a strike on the macro itself instead of claiming it was rmt after they realized, then yes, i would agree with you, however, that is not the case.

I'm sorry what. its a well known fact they won't tell you what the actual report is. they give a vague detail then tell you the part of the ToS you broke. they frankly won't tell you a thing here as to the nature of the report in case you connect dots and figure out who reported you. its to protect those people from being witch hunted. as for "Especially with people who have been invested monetarily in the game for years". We all agreed to abide by the tos. it don't matter if you been here since 1.0 or just started last week. everyone agrees to abide by the same tos and if you are in breach of it you get hauled in. told what part of it you broke then given either a warning or if more strikes are on your account a certain amount of day bans or removal of your account if a repeat offender. i mean you want to be told then go play on eu and carry on. i hear they legit tell you over there what was reported and not just what part of the tos you broke. that also tells you just how vengeful people on the NA dc's are if that tidbit of info is true about EU gaol.

RMT people outright just get banned. they won't pull them in. no use on it. most of them bots anyways.
