I also got mine.
Requested it in the morning, got it in the evening. They do say the investigation can take up to 7 days.
Also in their response, told me to keep my mailbox clean and they would send the reply to the investigation through that.
How exactly do you submit a Request? The support desk is really confusing to me and I just can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated! :)
It would be nice if we didn't have to use this stop-gap measure. Here's hoping this service comes out shortly after 2.1
Still waiting on mine to come in the moogle mail. x___x *sigh*
The impatience is strong in me...</3
It took about a week to get mine back, and I think it's not too bad at all. Just be patient and and you will get it too :D
decided to send in another ticket, the reply stated it will be escalated if i assure them that i am aware its a one time only deal
responded to that but my reply isnt showing in the ticket history, making me wonder if it even went through
Thanks for those who offered keywords or phrases in order to get them to at least not respond with a copy-pasted message around the 10-day technicality. I have submitted 4 tickets so far and finally got a response about my request being investigated to ensure that I had the item in the the first place in order to restore it.
To those still trying - stay calm and considerate in your requests to the GM and submit a ticket until you get a response that isn't the "I'm sorry to hear that...we can't do anything about it" one. Now, I am on the second part of the battle in waiting for their investigation to complete and hopefully get my phial :)
I would have tried a ticket to try and restore my Fantasia weeks ago, but honestly, I cannot remember when I used the thing. Sometime in early October. That's way too vague a time-frame for them to attempt to find it in their logs. ;-;
I put in a request to have my Phantasia restored back in Late September through the web support page. Maybe 3 or 4 days later I got an automated response saying my issue was being investigated and I would be contacted by a GM in the game about it. After another week or so without hearing anything, I submitted a bug report in the game (because I couldn't figure out how to contact a GM otherwise) informing them of my ticket and how I hadn't received a reply. I made sure to say that I'm aware I'm using my one time restoration for my Phantasia and accept the risk should anything happen in the future. Maybe an hour later it arrived in the mail.
Just sharing my experience for those who are going through it. It definitely takes some pestering to get it restored, but they eventually will do it.
Hmm. Looks like Imma try the pestering game. Cause It's been 3 days now since they said "Wait for a GM to contact you in game to give you your item back". But yet, I've seen people on this thread send in their ticket AFTER I did, and get theirs restored the same day they sent in the ticket. Like, wtf....lol >.> And yeah, I told them I was aware of the 1 time restoration....I even stressed how much I'm aware of this...lol
put in a second reply, which also does not show up in the history
either thats how its supposed to be or they closed my original ticket not accepting replies to it
Hello and thank you for your GM call.
We have received the necessary amount of information regarding a One-Time Item Restoration and we apologize for any disruption this has caused.
We have escalated your request and will begin investigating this matter further. Should your request be granted, this exchange will count towards your One-time Item Restoration for your account, and you will be contacted by a Game Master with further instructions. At that time, if you prefer not to use your one time Item Restoration, please let the GM know.
Thank you for your patience, and best wishes to you.
FINAL FANTASY XIV Game Master Team
Just got this today. How long will it take them to restore my fantasia?
damn, glad i made a seperate ticket asking about the status of my request, turns out for some reason neither of my 2 replies went through
got asked to make a new ticket as addition to the old one
depends, some people seem to get theirs restored within a couple of hours and others have to wait a few days
Plz gimme my fantasia
I had already used my 1 time restore. I patiently wait for the day this is available as a service. The world wants more roegadyn.
SE, please put a rush on the Fantasia sale service.
Yeah. It's been 4 days for me now. I'm not really sure why what exactly they need to "Investigate" or how some people get theirs restored the same day they sent the ticket...meh. It's beyond me. I'm TRYING to be patient but...I can't be bothered. I want it NEOW !! D: </3
I wish they would just hurry up and allow name and race changes already :(
After asking for the status of my phial restoration, I recieved a response stating that my restoration has been escalated but still being investigated. Hopefully I'll get it but I'm afraid that they won't find the data. Crossing my fingers for my phial. I want to go back back to being a sexy Hellsguard roegadyn! I made the HUGE mistake of picking race for stats and not aesthetics. /sadmonkey
I think the new hairdresser or whatever means they will put this off for a long time.
Too bad...
Please give me my Fantasia!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just an update - after three automated responses of rejection, I finally was granted by a much kinder GM to restore it! Thank you, whoever you are and I wish there was a name behind the handling of my ticket :D Anyhow, after 2-3 days (since it says it might take up to a week) I finally got my potion back in the mail last nite. For those waiting for the investigation to end, you should receive it soon :D
What's wrong with a cash shop? Just fill it with vanity items and that's it, fancier hair, seasonal dyes, smancy armors that are purely for decoration with vanity slots, minions, mounts, why not? Who could it possibly harm for them to make some quick cash on people that want to pay for some flair? Keep away from xp boosters or items with actual stats or anything that would be more than purely aesthetics.
I'd pay to have fancy hair with a fancy dye for my gear, why not? It's a few bucks from my pocket and it helps me stand out from the horde of BLMs that all have the same gear and weapon, it's a win-win for everyone.
I want Fanatsia :(:(:(:(
Ok guys i received my answer from a GM, telling me that they are going to make a investigation to see if i am eligible to get another fantasia potion ... :(
I wrote a big mail, stating that i would really change my aspect..
Now i am waiting,, i hope i can have one back... only one... death to lalafells :(
Unfortunately that is incorrect. The quote was probably modified to mess with people. A direct response from them overrides speculation on some forum page.
Oh yeah they were specific. I asked specifically if they were considering it. The following was their reason for the "no". At least they gave a reason. Apparently the blacklist system is very specific on names, not accounts. So all someone has to do is change their name even slightly and they can continue harassing you. This is why I wish the blacklist was account specific and not name specific. And it is possible. In every other MMO I play, if you block someone, you block them regardless of what character they are on XD
"...The reason we will not be doing name changes is due to security concerns. However you are always more than welcome to create a new character."
However at least we're getting fashion slots eventually and I think that is awesome :) The fantasia being available is cool, also, but I am totally stoked about the fashion slots :)
Umm no... if you seriously don't know how to go to the page itself and read it for yourself idk then.
But they for sure said name changes were coming here is the link for you to the direct page where Hvinire commented on name changes.

A few months and many tickets later, I finally got my fantasia restored today. Thanks to the people who've provided advice in this thread and big thanks to the GM who actually restored it! <3 Best of luck to the people who are waiting to get theirs restored and hopefully they'll add more ways of obtaining fantasia soon. :)
just found mine in the mail as well
even tho its unlikely they will ever read this, but big thanks to the GM(s) that didnt reject my last ticket and did the restoration
If (strong emphasis on if, due to the email i got back) they did implement that, then they have a LOT of code they will have to completely re-write. it;s no small task. There's no point in implementing name changes if all you have to do is change your name to harass someone. Making ignore/blacklist account based would be the cure, but they;d have to completely re-write the entire system for that. Don't get me wrong, I am VERY much wanting a name change service because frankly no one can type, let alone pronounce my current name, so I am wanting to change it to something simpler for the common folks. However I can see where a lot of concerns over the current system where everything is character based and not account based for blacklist will become a concern - especially where stalkers are concerned.
The name change is already in the game actually. Not only have I seen it applied during the transition from 1.xx to beta, but I have actually seen it triggered by a GM after the fact.
I'm not trying to bust you, but this isn't as serious of a topc as people are making it out to be. There's no reason to argue over it either. I mean, none of us can take any direct actions to make this happen.
Name change system is already ingame. 1.0 players were allowed to change their names during their reroll when starting the game. Also the lodestone sometimes had a note below players that said "Previously known as x character name". The functionality is definitely in there.
