I haven't got a chance to experiment yet, our FC gardin is full, but has any tried for or gotten Wine Red?
A friend has gone from Salmon Pink (Wich took 4 Valfruits) back to desert yellow after giving it 4 Apples.
It makes no fking sense at all.
25 O'Ghomoro Berry at once, 22 or 23 had the feather growing message

Yeah, i realize that, i've just been following this This document and according to the values that i'm now believing are pulled out of someone's behind, i should've landed just either shy off of Soot black or atleast near the color, but coeurl yellow? Cmon. ._.
Would love to get Turquoise Green or Morbol Green or even Nophica Green, but I keep bouncing between Celeste Green and Sky Blue. @_@
Has anyone ever had this before - where it constantly floats between new plumage and the old plumage?

so after tweaking on the RGB scale with berries x1, plums x3 and pineapple x1 (fair condition), i got to snow white from Bone white, this doesn't really confirm my theory, but i firmly believe the system is working on the RGB scale.

I listed a wrong collor, cream yellow instead of white bone, corrected.
Midnight blue after spamming fruits (most likely lost a ton of cash doing this) -> Kobold brown from midnight blue, used 2 pears 2 apples, in I think this order: 1 pear 1 apple 1 pear 1 apple, was before going sleep so can't confirm.
Just now I decided to use 1 pear and 2 berries. Lets see if I can proc Soot Black.

21 O'Ghomoro Berries = raptor blue
from there gonna feed it 10 Xelphatol Apple and 10 Mamook Pear.
wish me luck!;)
Edit: From raptor blue feed it 10 Xelphatol apple ( got the message 8 times ) , 8 Mamook pear ( got message 8 times ) and accidentally feed 1 O'ghomoro berries ( with a message )
Note: Stable:fair Order of feeding : 7 apple (5 message) , 1 berry (with message), 7 pear (7 messages), 1 apple (with message), 1 pear (with message), 2 apple ( to equal messages to pear's )
Could people post the stable conditons please? just for research.
Finished results = white chocobo!
(used same formula as earlier in the thread, except I had to add +1 plum for some reason)
Standard -> Bone white -> Snow white
Stable condition was 'Good'.
When I stand close to it, it places its head close to my characters and ruffles my hair
(almost as if trying to pet me)
Is this new? Never seen it before
Might be that I'm just standing very close to it, so it bugs out slightly.

By now we know that fruit amount is wrong. It matters if you get the message abut feathers/plumage changing and how many times you get it for a color. The spreadsheet is dead wrong, and same combinations of fruits give different results depending on which ones actually trigger the change in feathers.
Mine has been in good condition (still sparkling) each time.
went from rolanberry red last night to dalamud red. fed 3 valfruit (only 1 gave feather message) and 4 apples (all gave feather message)
Today fed just apples, 20 of them, but the first 15 gave no message. Now waiting the last 2 hours to see. Almost gave up on the apples, thinking it wasn't
going to ever give me the message.
15 growing feathers messages with apples fed all togheter on the first try gave me pumpkin orange, fair status on stable

Recipe was over two feeds:
1)5 O'Ghomoro Berries, 5 Mamook Pears, 5 Xephatol Apple
2)5 Mamook Pear, 8 O'Ghomoro Berries
5 O'Ghomoro Berrie + 5 Valfruits + 5 Doman Plum = ASH GREY Screenshot : http://i.imgur.com/of5ynUf.jpg
Gave my chocobo:
16 apples and got the message 15 times,
15 berries and got the message 15 times,
15 pears and got the message 15 times,
rank 10 in a good condition stable, will post result in 5h
Like 80% of you are just posting fruits and not how many messages you're getting.
ITS NOT THE AMOUNT OF FRUITS ITS THE MESSAGES YOU GET THAT ARE CHANGING THE COLORS.
My latest result is Celeste Green. The total trip to this point: First round was a control: 10 berry 10 pineapple of which 5 berry and 2 pineapple gave the feather message = Desert Yellow (no change), Second round was: 6 berry and 2 pear with all giving the feather message = Aldgoat Brown, third round was 10 plum with all giving the feather message = Celeste Green. So if just the feather messages counted it added up to 11 berry, 2 pineapple, 2 pear, 10 plum in this cycle though due to the cancelling effect could drop out 2 berry and the 2 pineapple. I did not use a lemon to reset between any of my current trials. (I believe that I started the initial trial with the stables in poor condition but cleaned them during that run and they have been good ever since.)
Continuation from my previous post. Fed it only 1 more Valfruit after it turned Salmon Pink. Just changed colors into Rose Pink. So total snacks fed O'Ghomorro Berryx1, Doman Plumx2, Valfruitx5 (It could be that just the 5 Valfruits only had an effect where as the Berry and Plum had no effect)

Used Doman Plum x7, Valfruit x8. And the result was glorious!
They have the numbers backwards on that document. White's values are at the lowest end of the scale (0) and blacks values would be at the highest end of the scale. This is my own conclusion based on the wording on the fruit itself.
Valfruit, Ciedalaes Pineapple and Doman Plum all lighten (decrease) the saturation of the color, aka subtract from the total for that color value pushing it closer to 0.
Mamook Pear, O'Ghomoro Berries, Xephatol Apple all darken (increase) the saturation of the color, pushing the value closer to whatever the cap is (255 is assumed).
The color system is RGB (light) but the way it works is like pigments in that zero saturation of all colors equals white, where 100% saturation of all colors equals black. The rules are based off red, green, blue as primary colors with the tertiary colors cyan, magenta, and yellow, which is why there is an element of confusion in the document you referenced.
Most of us grew up mixing pigments, not light. So it's a little confusing when you subtract blue from pink and get yellow :3 (as an example).
Loving all the pictures and everyone sharing their chocobo!
One minor thing... I edited the thread title to be "dyeing" since I didn't want people thinking some kind of strange plague had started affecting all of our chocobos! :)
7 pears and 2 messages got me cream yellow ._.
Now I fed him 2 Valfruits and another pear. (3 fruits, 2 messages)
lol
Good one, Bayohne! XD
This would be correct if that's all the fruits were doing. But it seems that what they actually do is lower one and raise the other two. Plums raise cyan (blue and green), valfruit raise magenta (red and blue) and pineapples raise yellow (green and red). White is still coming from raising all of the values as high as possible.
The "deepen" fruit raise one and lower the other two.
Yep, gotta get the feathers message. I fed my bird before logging off last night without getting a message. Checked it just now and nothing changed at all.
