Ever see 5 stacks of ice cream on a cone? it's like that gem on top of a gem on top of a.... man that's gonna look ugly as hell, might as well use it as a weapon to swing it the mobs like the claws...

I know.. I agree but people are saying... if you make it so you can wear as much jewelry as you like. ...
AND
Make it so we can attach materia to armor...
the stat increase of both of these together is potentially staggering.... I guess we should probably start a new thread about this...
I've been thinking the same. You'd reach a situation where lots of 1 slot cost accessories with materia are better than 3 accessories with a slot cost of 4. But maybe that's why they're removing slot cost and adding a limit instead.
As a goldsmith I'd not care about accessories being excluded from materia, it's not like we can't make weapons too. I'll be too busy making weapons to care about the jewellery market.
They saying like say we got 4 ring slots right now, removing it to make it to 2 slots like FFXI, or changing left/right ear to just one earring slot. It's just the players assuming this one so hopefully they don't break the system we already have for the amount of slots for accessories.
we'll have to see, they are saying increase each individual accessories effect.
Yep I agree, so I posted in the JP thread to have the Rep confirm it's not actual slots being removed but limiting the number of accessories you can put on... which to me makes no sense if they do that then it's basically the same as having AP really...
I was hoping they keep the AP system but have some real accessory gear in future just for looks which has 0 AP cost to make your characters little more unique... I guess SE had different way of thinking.
aha! thanks Reinheart!
My two cents on jewelry/AP:
Two earrings, two rings, 4 action points. Common jewelry costs two action points. Rings acc/attack, earrings evasion/parry/etc. Later on really nice rings/earrings can cost 3 points (dble attack, haste) and maybe add lesser stat rings/earrings for 1 point.
Posted the rep translation on this thread (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ccessory+point) maybe just continue in there till we get NA rep to post the official translation and get more info.
JP side has a thread talking about what that silver thingy on the moonlet looks like and talking about what it could be/mean.
Original Thread Link: http://goo.gl/HX2Sa
Some JP players saying Carbuncle... we'll see lol
This is regarding the font size info that's updated from last time.
Original Thread Link: http://goo.gl/HUPpE
there is one post regarding the JP naming of the sound setting titles but it's just JP naming so gonna skip translation on that one.
Added: There is another but this one is also less important + dunno if english side is same but in lodestone history the JP side was showing Moon Rabbit instead of Moon Mouse so they fixed that.
Great info, the per-widget settings for the font sizes wasn't something I was expecting.
Don't get me wrong, these posts are promising great and necessary additions to the game, but it's a bit disheartening to still see the vast majority of them being almost exclusively system-related. So many of us are scraping for things to do ingame, dying for new content... Most of the stuff they add are things for convenience-sake, not to keep us busy ; _ ;
mm I think there is a lot more in 1.19 that we're not told about yet, system stuff isn't really OMG DEVS I LOVE YOU!! type of posts so guessing those they are releasing info... pretty sure in-game stuff will be posted in the topics along with forum at same time :) (i hope...lol)
Wish they would remove the fps cap all together and let us use vsync if desired. =[
Keep up the amazing work! Been advertising the thread on my site for a very long time now. I just read the Famitsu, bit depressing how much these guys work and sleep, i could never do that. Hope they get weekends off.
Anywho, on the font size thing i wish it wasnt chatlog only =( needs to be everything. Hopefully they will change that after when feedback comes. People only want to change it due to custom fonts being all so small.
For the font size thingy the first response they said they gonna try all other widgets but that part going to require changes to UI/Icon and all that so gonna need more time, probably why they just doing the logs for now. Would be nice if we can customize most of the UI, wish can change the background color so it matches better with the font color i use for different linkshells...
Confuses me as to why its a difficult task when theres already third party ways, ah well im sure they has a reason, most likely priorities.
the game was uncapped for a short period during testing. However it caused some how shall i say it, Less then desirable effects in the cooling and performance departments for some users. that's when the 60 cap was put into place.
If they can pin down the optimization it very well could see the return of uncapped.
Reinheart, are you ok? I haven't seen any posts (not just translation posts) from you in awhile.
sorry been at the hospital back and forth for the baby, he was born premature (32 weeks) so been busy last few days since finally doctors going to release him, probably gonna be late on translations tomorrow as well since I have to stay overnight at the hospital for final checkup for the nurse to see if the babies parents (me+wife) can take care of the baby overnight.
I'll translate the ones from today, yesterdays posts were mostly lodestone, forum related + 1 typo on JP side about the color used on the level colors.
JP side has a thread titles MMO = Dragon
Foxclon responded saying it's more like Fantasy = Dragon and he says he likes them too, and YoshiP responded today as well.

i don't like at all the changes to repair
-repair npc to every aetherite is good, at least i can sell my trash while gathering
-npc repair to 99 ? so crafter's repais is useless at best
-omfg crafters will repair 1% more !! meh
-again price reduction for npc? 5000 for a level 50 repair it's the price for a crafter's repair...
-"Will lower dark matters cost". Totally worthy, with crafter's repaire almost useless
-item with full stat with 1% durability, than 0 stats with 0%. don't have much sense to me
basicly it's a measure to prevent sell of repairs and turning the sistem gil-sink only. I can live with it, but sure i like repairs to 65%
99% isnt much different than repairing just to 75%, you just have to go back to the npc sooner. Getting a player to fix your gear has always been about being able to resell it. I think they want players to rely more on NPC repairs for daily needs to get more gil out of the economy, which is sorely needed. They are reducing dark matter prices so the NPC is still more expensive, although it would be nice to get a tip
"from durability 100 to 1 no change in stats." niceee =D, i like it ^^
Well since it takes you up to near-perfect durability, and it's a lot cheaper now, more people that relied on player repairs would opt to use it more often (myself included).
I really didn't mind the current repair system except for one thing. As a crafter you can let your gear go red because it didn't affect the +stats like control, craftsmanship, etc. This way people will have to repair gear.
As far as the prices are concern I have been paying 1k over dark matter and have been fine with it. I'm worried that the 1500 gil difference for grade 5 (5000-3500) is negligible and people will just use the repair which will alienate the crafters. Althought i'm not a crafter I don't want anyone left out.
You would be surprised at what lengths people will go to to save money =P
