I'm sure it has been said, but I would like an option to turn on and off the lights (preferably in the fc room)
Also I will say this a million times, and a million more times...I want a hammock for outside the house that you can /doze in!
Some higher fences would be nice and a gate for yards :D
Still would like to see new partitions added that match current wallpaper and large "rugs" that mimic floor patterns.
I would like to see the firecracker stands, seen in Ul'dah during the "Moonfire Faire" event, as either indoor or outdoor items. Actually I would like to see a majority of the event decorations available in some form for housing since their model is already in the game!
I would like to see a vendor that will resell (for gil) decoration items from previous events *cough*cherryblossomtrees*cough* if you had already purchased one of the item during the event. Since I believe they have clothing items from events on the Calamity Salvager the housing items should be there too!
Plain wallpaper! sometimes it's the simple things that make a house look good.
Oh yea,in ground pools just a thought.
This X 1000. Either new recipes for new specific partitions, new recipes for wallpaper to put on existing partitions, or at the very least the ability to dye partitions to try and match a wallpaper.
As it stands, if you have partitions in a room/floor, it's not going to look very good if you decide to put in most of the current wallpapers as well.
[/IMG] Much like these. They already have models they just need to make them usable.

Recently what caught my eye were the many decorations found within the anniversary event.

I found an excellent site for previewing housing items. It also includes the recipe or vendor location. http://en.ff14housing.com/itemlist.php?h=1
With barely over 1000 houses in total per server that still leaves most of the players homeless. That's not even taking into account the fact that we have to compete with FCs for housing plots. No matter how many times they take away a house ( which is only going to bite them in ass PR wise) there will never be enough housing for more than 1-2% of the player base.
I made a Triple Triad table using the new Royal Plotting table and the Alpine chairs so my FC could have a game room in the basement and do tournament nights.

I've been looking through the workshop in my FC and realized that the schematic board is severely limited. Our airships are just stockpiling tons of mats that can't be used elsewhere and can't be sold. I really hope SE introduces more recipes and make them a bit more dependent on airship mats. New housing glamours would be really amazing right now, especially since they are tradeable and can be dyed. Have some housing furnishings that can only be made through the workshop. It would make it more lucrative and give other people an incentive to help out with the workshop. Here's a picture of the Arms Supplier's Wall that's been dyed.

When I buy my personal house I'm going to invest in the Arms Supplier's housing pieces since I intend to make my Personal House into a forge.
Then I'll be able to give permissions to my FC's crafters so we can all focus our crafting skills with out cluttering our Guild HQ.
What would be amazing is if they could play on that idea of making a forge with the arms and armor diaplays, High Level Crafting Facilities (That dont crap out at lvl cap), and other things like that.
I would still love to have one of these billboards to be a furnishing for FC housing that we can put up our FC message on. We have that welcome plaque outside so don't see why we can't have one of these. A lot of people miss out on FC messages because the FC message appears in the same colored text as the rest of the garbled message you get when logging in and also most people don't want to have to keep opening up the menu to check the message. Having a message board in the house that we can put up the same Company Message (or messages, like 2 or 3) would be nice to have so people can just come to the house and check the board to see what's going on. That or make a /fcmes command that prompts in the chat box what the message is.
I realy like the carby armchair

and it would be amazing if we could get Topaz Carby armchair to create a set!

It looks great! Really smart choice to reverse the topaz carbuncle too. I wish I had your skills. :)

I would really love if we could get huge bookshelf partitions. I was thinking something similar to what is pictured below.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-a...015_124529.png
I would also like to request many variations of shelf partitions with premade clutter on the shelves, one with food supplies, one with workshop tools and materials, and maybe one with linens, towels, or elixir-type bottles. The shelves and clutter do not need to be floor to ceiling, but maybe have closed cabinet doors near the top. It can be double-sided, with a different appearance on the back. It should be a bit thicker than current partitions, maybe slightly thicker than the skinny pillars that divide the wall panels inside the house.
Just trying to think of creative ways to divide spaces without the need to match wallpapers, and ways to decorate without using too many furniture slots.
This will probably be a idea that a lot of people will be against it I think, but can we who own a private house please have some of the features a fc house has? I don't mean the airship or the workshop itself but it would be nice if we were able to buy more rooms. The best way would be if we had an infinite amount of rooms that we could buy but if thats not possible than I would at least have something like 10 rooms for a small one and more for the middle and big one. Each of them could even cost the 300k fee..With that we would be able to decorate more since each room has its own counter for furniture. I do own a little private house but I already know that thanks to the limit of the place itself and the limit on furniture that I will probably buy a middle house sometimes in the future. This would not be necessary if we could just buy more rooms. And it would be a nice gil sink too :) With something like that I would not feel the need to buy a bigger house and at the same time you would not need to raise the maximum limit of furniture for the smaller ones because we could just buy more rooms to decorate. (Bigger houses still need a big raise in the limit because every mansion feels empty which is quite bad since you already pay a lot for it..)
Since every room would be instanced and would only exist if you go into it, it would not need as much resources as a completely new house does (it still does need some resources but at least it will really help us who really love to decorate ;)) and I am quite sure that people wont suddenly own hundreds of extra rooms.
I don't know if you can buy more than one room in a fc house for yourself and if there is a maximum number of rooms to buy but to make it fair it should be possible to buy more than one room in the fc house too and to make it infinite there too. (If thats not already the case :))
Edit NR.2: It would be also nice if a FC could buy rooms that everyone can use. Because right know if you have a FC room and put some usable things in it only the owner of said room can use them..maybe if at least the leader of the FC had the possibility of buying more rooms without that restriction it would help :) All these furniture that help crafter with leveling are nice but they take away space and count towards the limit which is quite bad. If we could put them in these purchasable rooms we could free up some of that space and even make some really nice themed rooms. :) (Like a kitchen or a blacksmith's workshop)
I would also like to know if we will get the feature with the minions. The answer that they will look into it and if its even possible is some months old and it would be nice to get a update on it. :)
Reposting because I still don't see them;I'm probably forgetting plenty, but that's enough for now...
- A Jukebox to play various in game music in your house/room, perhaps with disks being similar to Triple Triad Cards in how they're obtained. Go through Praetorium, get the Praetorium music. Beat Ultima Ballad, get the Ultima music. etc. etc.
- Mannequin, what more really needs to be said there?
- Workstations to also provide a durability boost if you're beyond the level to gain the CP boost. So using a Workstation at Lv60 lets your gear last longer before it needs repairing. The Workstations really need a purpose beyond leveling...
- A small bird bath to place in the garden, which birds (perhaps the Blue Bird minion?) actually visits, to give the garden some sense of life. Quite a few pieces of furniture could work like this actually, the Dodo Nest could have the Dodo minion pop out occasionally, the Tiny Nutkin could show up if you have any trees... Fish in the pond (and a bigger pond) too, can't forget that one!
- This also applies to Inns, but bring back the log out option on beds! And bring back the chance for a dream sequence when you log in/wake back up! This was such a great feature of 1.23, why on earth did you guys remove it?! Why have you still not added it back? I've asked like 10 times now... Just think of the awesome things you could do with characters like Edda...
- Trophies. Actual trophies. I like displaying something like Ifrits ugly mug on my wall as a trophy, but given that Display Stand that was recently added... A trophy cup would be really nice; Chocobo Racing, Lord of Verminion, Triple Triad, Wolves' Den, Frontlines, Fishing. There are plenty of pieces of content that could also reward a nice little trophy to display. Perhaps just have a NPC in the housing wards, similar to the NPC who gives you achievement rewards, who can give you a trophy based off some of the achievements? That way it isn't "in-your-face" for people who don't have any housing.
- Rework some of the Culinarian furniture to actually be competitive when compared to the regular Culinarian consumables... Why not just let me place some Black Truffle Risotto in my room and let me use that instead of carrying the stuff around and having the housing food instead being really weak in comparison? Either that or rework some of the furniture food, the durability bonus is nice, more differences like that would be welcome.
- Partitions... Let us "Dye" them so they can match the Wallpaper, rather than using dyes, just have it use up a copy of the Wallpaper though.
- Oriental Partition, rename it to Oriental Doorway, and add an Oriental Partition that does not act as a doorway. And while you're at it, add "Doorways" for various other partition types, as well.
- Statues, can we have some which aren't demonic? I think some Twelve themed furniture is long overdue. A statue of each would be really nice, we at least see one a Halone a lot during Heavensward, you can at least give us that, right?
- Paintings, more of them please! More NPCs, perhaps some enemies (the Primals are begging for portraits!), and definitely more landscapes! Absolutely going to need an increase to the amount of furniture we can place with that, but damn do my walls look dull. Perhaps my only complaint with the existing ones would be the frames; I don't like how they're "themed" for the character portraits, it makes two different portraits clash horribly IMO.
- Some Alchemy themed furniture. I'd really like to place some potions around the place, to try and create a sort of medical area. Currently Alchemy furniture is almost entirely about plants... Would be nice to have some potion related ones, or at least let us brew up some alcohol to make some Bars!
- Botany and Miner furniture. Fishers can proudly display some (and not nearly enough, IMO) fish on their walls, how about something similar for Botany and Miner? The Miners guild displays a few ores IIRC, and Botany could have some entomology display cases perhaps... More Fish to display would be really nice as well, and obviously that means a Fish Tank!
I've wanted to have a jukebox in game for quite some time, I was thinking pretty much the same thing but SE would probably call it the " Aetherial Sonograph" and allow players to obtain "Sonic Glyphs" from various instances to unlock new music. If the "glyphs" are rare it could really boost the Duty Finder population for some of the instances that are no longer being run regularly.
**Also if this item is placed in an FC house all FC members should be able to install or "prime" a "glyph"
This one item alone has potential for so much fun ^_^ (ps. if you guys do end up doing this we need a way to play dragonsong pls k thx bai)
This has probably been suggested a dozen times or more, but I'm not really up for reading through 87 pages just to click "Like" on all of them...
How about the ability to upload images or screenshots to be applied as Housing Paintings?
I realize there's the very, very obvious potential for abuse, but still wanted to suggest it (Again in all probability)
Less potentially controversial, how about books? The idea of writable books which players could save and actually put on a bookshelf for their friends and visitors to read seems like it'd be fun. Or even just pre-made books containing stories, myths and legends from the lore of FFXIV would be a delight. Something to actually give utility to bookshelves.
On that same idea, making cabinets, dressers and such actually able to store things would be nice, but I'm sure that more than anything would be filed under "Server Load Issues".
Honestly as far as picture upload abuse, since it would be an immideate viation of the ToS to post explicit content (Alll of which is outlined in the ToS in verry great detail) then it could have a 24 hour "Approval" cool down before anyone else could see it.
Me personally though, I'd settle for some large scale landscape paintings.
has anybody heard any new info lately on the Unending Journey book and Crystal Bell?
I know they said they planned to release the Unending Journey Book. but I'm having trouble remembering what they said about the Crystal Bell, I could have sworn they said they planned that one too.
really want these 2 things. really don't like having to go to an inn room to use them.
This was indeed suggested couple pages back and the only way I see this even remotely possible is if we could pick freeze frames from cutscenes that are available at the inn. Due to spoilers this could also be vulnerable to abuse, but that could be easily prevented by showing it empty or a placeholder image if you have not yet finished said quest. One exception would have to be event quests after the event has ended, because those you can't do again.
I'd rather have the support/mod team on more important tasks than approving uploaded screenshots. There is a reason we don't have custom (as in self made) FC emblems either. Not to mention the amount of server data the pictures would take.
What about pictures that already exist such as the head shots they use for forum avatars? You could have pictures of yourself and your partner a la wedding pictures, or an FC could have pictures of officers, or any number of other things like that. That should be easier to implement, harder to abuse and still satisfy some people's needs as well.
I don't see custom paintings happening any time soon. But more land/cityscapes would be amazing.
I have no idea how practical this might or might not be, but what about adding multiple entrances and exits to Housing? This, in tandem with some glamours or construction options, so that you can have things like terraces and balconies on your House.
I'd like more doors, like the oriental partition. Especially awesome would be a "secret passageway" item, like a bookshelf with a lever on it that let you pull it to have access to a secret room. Right now, our fc has a secret meeting room for officers, and the only way to get in is with housing permissions and moving away a wall. It works, but it's a bit clunky. Maybe there could be secret room permissions, or something, so not everyone could get in. You could also take away the "interactable" arrow just for more secrecy!
I'd also like signs, or sticky notes, or some way to leave little messages to my FC members or anyone visiting. You would be able to interact with them, and simply see the message that someone else left for you. More interactable items is always fun, and I think this would be a nice addition.
Not sure if this was already mentioned or not but can we have a way to access the balcony on the second floor without having to creatively rig something together on the outside?
I'd like a ceiling lamp that duplicates the lighting from Steps of Faith.
2 things, not sure if either one has been mentioned -
1 - the ability to turn off ceiling lights in the house
2 - a guest book so people visiting your house can leave comments - gives some incentive to go snooping around peoples houses without feeling like a creeper for it.
Yeah the lights are planned for 3.1, unless of course that changes like so many other things lol...
