Well I expect our next villain will be a grey area too...

IMO It was Shadowbringers for job design, Stormblood for MSQ, Heavensward for content drama.
Each expansion usually winds up having a strong point and they wind up shoring up the weaker points by the end of an expansion, like how Stormblood DLC is some of the best plotting in the game (then hit reset, and here we are in the x.0 - x.1 void)
Endwalker has four patches to go and I'm not casual enough to rate an entire expansion off of x.0 MSQ. The next patch looks like two patches by Shadowbringers standards. Dear god, please let it be great.
LOLOLOLOL, nice reference!
Hmmm, that's a curious thing. I hear it makes one end weep and another end sing...
Mine had to be 80. Please look at my character's initials and thank you for giving me the opportunity to use them for a bad play on words after all this time. <3
If you're talking about MSQ specifically, then it is over and done. EW 6.0 was the end of the arc as has been stated by Yoshida and won't continue the story in the follow-up patches as it has been done previously.
6.1 and onward is meant to be the start of an absolutely new narrative so judging the entire EP as a completely finished story is totally valid.
Like every other game, the forums are the extent of the gripes.
And the minority.
It is only natural that it would be the most controversial. You're dealing with a much larger player-base with more eyes on the game, so it is normal that it would be subject to more scrutiny, or just be a general point of contention.
There's just as many people that would call proposed, or even player-curated directions for the game nonsense as to what there are players that find the current game direction as nonsense.
