I will see how long that job will be fun and I am interested in how many people truly enjoy this long term and not just do it once and then when the honeymoon is over they will drop it.

I have nothing against them trying something new but I wonder why its so hard to just give him some basic skills that can be used in dungeon and leave all the rest of the overpowered one for solo play. This would give people both ways. I do also fear that they will use these limited jobs to push any complicated job into this..and that we might get less jobs in the future..

Maybe it would not be that bad if we had more open world content to do or if they had at least access to things like Palace or HoH.

I am just not sure how much fun doing older content will be. Since they are first locked to 50 you cant unsynch older stuff alone. (Like the raids) And if you unsynch this with other higher leveled people you will kinda be carriered through that content because they are restricted to 50.

I think this version of blue mage is as bad as the plague. I won't touch it. I wonder what SE would do if all the people who were unhappy with this version didn't touch it either.

Seems to me, if they can equip 24 spells, then they should make it so that as long as 10 or so are specifically learned and equipped they could qualify for roulettes. They just have to come up with which ones depending on the content/level. I really don't see a problem with this, though it'll take some time to balance. You still have 14 or so abilities you could decide from your list to be your own BLU.

I don't see why some of those spells just can't be fit into a rotation and used for content while the others are gimmicky things for the open world and unsynced stuff.

Why does the "gotta catch them all" aspect and "viable endgame job" have to be mutually exclusive? They 100% could've made a normal BLU job, according to the XIV job parameters. Then ADDED more content to the job. Do you want your spells to look different? Apply Blue Magic glamours! Go out in the world and "learn" new skills to change how your spells look. If that wouldn't work, why not just have the 49 extra skills available to learn and use in synced/irrelevant content/open world and in the BLU carnival???? The fact that we have to get this half-baked "job" is ridiculous.

This could open up possibilities for other jobs! BLU would have this system, BRD already has performance, expand on Egi glamours, change NIN jutsus, etc.. If dev time is the issue, then don't release the job until its full realized.

So, question here: what role is the majority within this thread and forums thinking BLU will fill within a matchmaking system like DR?

its a caster dps, theyve already slotted it into the triad for pf stuff

Initially, yes. But there's still a significant amount of time before the new expansion hits and there's always hope that with feedback and critique a different direction can be taken.

think of this as a test period, give good, constructive feedback that helps the team and Yokozawa when you get your hands on it so they can identify problem areas, and in the 6 months to 5.0 they should have enough data on both what the player base wants out of blue and increase the lvl cap (hopefully to 80 at 5.0)
