Soo... apparently Diadem has i280 weapons with higher WD than alexandrian/anima lux

I think quite a few people still don't get it why people are so upset about the IL280 weapons.
Diadem is still boring and overall horrible in my opinion (and yes, I was already in there), but this does not belong to this topic here.

Stormblood is still three months ahead. And it's not about the percentage of getting the weapon for your main class.
It's about the possibility of it. Even if the chance is just 0,1%, it CAN happen. And it will. And personally I was already falling asleep just by doing one run just now.
As raider I can just agree to Baalfrog who posted a few posts above me; speedruns will become even more ridiculous now.
Right now people have more or less equal gear, depending whether they have relic or not - but now it will become a complete joke.
Statics with at least one IL280 weapon will probably be at least 2-3 seconds before any other (especially if it's a DD weapon) without even being any better or providing a better strategy to clear it.
If you don't do speedruns will more likely not care about this; but some do.

I was able to two-man these fates with a buddy of mine in 255 gear, while I was an AST with several BiS pieces. They... really aren't comparable to what you'd experience outside of this content, like at all. They're a pushover at best and mildly annoying at most; 7 enemies was enough to complete one of them from a MNK and AST... that's kinda telling for the difficulty.

Yes, they rehashed content, but I expect that leading into an expansion as they likely have all hands on deck solely for the expansion and 3.X's finale rather than worrying about a piece of throwaway content.

If that ever happened I'll just glamour over the i180 PvP weapon model with a Relic or Alex weapon model. Stats are not everything in this game as many will tell you.

Not really. The Relic and Raid weapons are primarily unique model rewards for completing quests/content. The Coven weapons are primarily high numbered bait to attract players to content.

Very very unfair Square Enix, at this rate you make ppl run away from this game ! Pls revert it back to normal. Its really sad to see that ppl lose their motivation for the game like this by applying this patch ! Everyone worked so hard on their relic and now this happens?! Are you kidding me ?!

What the actual FUCK Square? We can't even upgrade 260->270 with gobdip yet and JUST got our 275 weapons from the anima chain after months of grinding and now you throw RNG bullcrap at us that's better than our hard-earned relics or savage weps regardless of secondary stats? Why the hell have we been wasting all this time and money on your game when we could have just quit for months and subbed again right before stormblood and had the same level of gear as any scrub who ran diadem a couple times? Really feels like a huge middle finger to their active subscribers, more than anything.

Im just going to point out that A5S is 215 mininimum ilevel, the crafted set in hq, pentamelded 220 was good enough for midas. You didn't need pink "bis" for it. The thing is, best weapons and armor, weapons especially, should be earned, not handed over like candy at street corner by a creepy old guy.

It drops from a boss that spawns once and it's extremely easy for people to screw up to where it's impossible to complete. If you do manage to kill it, one person in the entire 72 man gets a random i280 weapon. The chance of you getting a i280 weapon and the chance of it being the one you want is literally like 0.1%. Calculate the chance of finding groups that don't fuck the raid up and it's even lower than that.
All it takes is one tank bringing the adds to the middle of the arena to make the fight IMPOSSIBLE To clear. If Buer spawns prematurely, you cannot clear because he buffs everyone ridiculously. It doesn't reset either. About 40 minutes wasted and you have to redo the entire Diadem to try again. I also don't think an Emergency Mission is guaranteed every run, either.

If you thought bird farming was bad without a buffed drop rate, this is worse. Much worse. i280 weapons will never become wide spread. Only lucky people will ever get one that's useful to them.

Alexander, relic and coven will become obsolete in roughly 2 to 3 months time. This isn't WOW where you raid with the same weapons 3 expansions ago.

People are crying over spilled milk.

While I agree that it's bull that they haven't even added the easy-to-get Gobdip yet, and that Dun Scaith is really getting the short end of the stick out of this whole Diadem update, I must point out that your logic is still inherently flawed. People could have quit at any time after getting ilvl~240 to clear the MSQ, and resubbed after Stormblood launched and been able to get ilvl250+ crafted gear thrown at them in the new expansion story.

I think people are kind of losing sight of why we strive to get the best gear. We don't clear content for the gear (Well, not entirely true; glamour is true end-game), we get gear so that we can do the best job we can when tackling challenging content. The core of a game is game play, no? We want to be better geared so we can do a better job and enjoy ourselves taking on the real meat of the game. Of course that then brings up the topic of challenging, interesting content being present in the game, which is... a whole other discussion.
