Mentor Players Kicking newer players from Duty Ques for low DPS

As a mentor who mentors, when I load in one of the first things I do is look at other players' gear, especially those I didn't queue with. And let me tell you, sometimes my response is, out loud, "oh my god. Oh my gawwd." OP's gear isn't the worst I've seen. First week of Xelphatol my party had a BLM with the Bismarck weapon. Not the crafted one.

Though I've never initiated a vote kick against someone for pulls taking forever, I have loudly suffered (my poor partner and TS mates) through dungeons that can be cleared in 20 min taking 45-50 min instead.

For Sohr Khai, if the first 5+ min really were that bad, the party could have a reasonable expectation of failing Hraesvelgr at the end. There is a soft enrage. You run out of platforms and you die. I've been in a group where it happened.

Based on how long that first pull took, the others may have decided they'd never make it past enrage. But some attempt should have been made to coach or otherwise discuss this with the underperforming dps before voting to kick.

You don't get to know who started the vote kick and if there were not 3 mentors in there you can't be sure at all it was "the" mentor who started the vote. o.O

Unless, of course, the person said "I will start a vote kick to get you out of here."...

Actually, unless there were multiple mentors in those instances.
It's possible a mentor never even agreed to either kick.

The other two players could have initiated and passed the kick without the mentor's vote...

This, it only takes 2 votes to kick a person. And since the OP hasn't responded in a while, I'm betting there was something else going on.

Low dps is a poor excuse for a DF run, as long as you meet the reqs you are entitled to run it. Whoever wants a fast and easy clear must PF or accept what DF gives them.

If the complain comes from a mentor then, to me is sufficient enough to revoke permanently its status and strip him of all the perks he got with it. Hell, I'm going even far more and will delete all and everything gear he have on his account and get him naked, some people deserves it.

I'm not sure which is worse - the clearly over the top and harsh nature of this suggestion for something as minor as kicking from a duty group, or that at the time of my response 3 others apparently agree.

And people are entitled to remove people they don't want in the group from the group. That's one of those 2 way streets you're opening up if you're going to play that card. Yes it's silly that someone was removed by mentors (Possibly), but mentors are also not free carries. From what I gather, OP was abusing loopholes to meet requirements- so are they really entitled to anything?

After reading this thread, I would have kicked OP too. lol.
edit: Also how does OP know that the mentor kicked them? As far as I know the one who gets kicked does not know who starts the vote kick. Maybe it was one of the others who started it and said "yes" to the kick.

By your logic I should be able to meet the minimum ilvl by wearing DoH gear and the other 3/7/23 people in the group should just carry me like a papoose even if my presence means not meeting DPS checks. I don't think so. It's not even all about fast and easy clears, it's about having enough respect for the other players in your party to not be a dead-weight. Having a Mentor in the party doesn't suddenly absolve "new" players from personal responsibility.

It also doesn't give mentors the right to be speedrun tyrants and kick a newbie for not being up to his level in gear or rotation. This is a system specifically pairing you with players that are not everyday players, that isn't the time for "3 mistakes, we disband" nonsense.

1) We dont know if it was the mentor at all who kicked the OP - and even if then, there are two other people in that duty and at least one of them most have considered OPs behavior/lack of appropiate gear, well, not appropiate
2) The mentor-roulette is to pair you up with newbies in need of help with a duty - Sohm Al HM is also in the level 60 roulette, so content someone who is in need of tomes would run aswell - we dont know if that mentor queued up using his mentor-roulette
3) Even a not everyday player can and should be expected to take enough care of their gear and rotation to be up to his level. OP was at level 60, in a level 60 dungeon, yet didnt bother with getting gear for their job beforehand.

Asking for respect your fellow player goes both ways - for me joining a duty unprepared shows a lack of respect, being new to a duty isnt an excuse for that. At level 60 you should have learend what gear to use for your job - not bothering with that (even when its freaking easy and doesnt require that much time, as many people in this thread have pointed out) is simply saying "Hey, I dont care."
Just because someone is new to a duty (at level 60 you're not new to the game anymore) doesnt mean they get a free pass at everything...
