Says the guy who thinks Cecil is the first DRK. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
FFII, III, Tactics, X-2, XI and serveral side titles with other naming conventions for the same class, all, are DRK DPS classes. While, he defends on Cecil, which also was more DPS inclined than a tank. LOL.
The tradition is that DRK are HP trade DPS classes. Get over it. DRK as a tank goes against FF history.
Summoner should use their summons to deal dmg once then dissapear, they should also be able to use dark magic
Scholar skills should only identify mobs weaks points and nothing else
Dragoon should also be able to use shield
NiN should have the ability to throw items from inv to dmg the enemy
Dark Knight should also be able to use White Magic
i can keep going if u want
NiN in ffxi was made a tank, if that can happen i dont see why Dark Knight cant be a tank in FFXIV.. heck it even makes more sense
Huh. Color me tickled. FF2 does have a DRK and I never knew about it. Granted, I never really delved into II and III much which I suppose is my own fault.
Consider me corrected on that. The mythos of the FF2 DRK still sticks with a warrior that is dark and has high stamina and intellect and wears heavy armor. Nothing is destroyed from the FFXIV DRK being a tank as they can still use all of those attacks.
Granted, if they make it an evasion tank like they are saying..this might lead to some interesting situations with healers and 2.0 warriors.
And those harping me about 2.0 warriors being an awful example...it was to show that DRK mechanics can be used in a tanking scenario. Yes, the mechanics themselves were flawed but that was because players didn't like the extra stress.
This wasn't be arguing about if the class will be successful tanking or not. This was me talking about DRK mechanics being implemented for tanking. Eesh. Way to miss the point.
For all the people arguing over Dark Knight's legacy and what not the real reason the class is a tank has somehow gone ignored. Tanks are unplayed and people were excited to play DRK, this is their way of trying to draw people to an underplayed role just like tanks getting exclusive mounts was.
