I hope this game doesn't become like FFXI

FFXI is super easy mode now. You can get to max level from level 1 in a matter of day, 8 days max if you're lazy about it. Skillin up is still a bitch, so they added a page thingy or w/e to certain zones to get increased rate of skill ups, super easy mode compared to what it was.

/agreed with the "if you wanna solo in an mmo, you should really just stick to single player games" that soloing in an mmo came out of WoW and F2p clone models. I don't think the ride to max level should be spent solo and then you learn to party with people for endgame, you should be learning how to party with people while learning to play your class in a party environment before getting to endgame or max rank.

I think the main goal in single player mmorpgs is to get to that point where you can participate in events with others. >.>

Sorry for trying to stay on topic.

Besides, it doesn't need things from other MMOs. FFXIV needs things that diversify itself from other MMORPGs, whether they are concepts taken from other MMORPGs or not.

True, i havent played another game where I roleplay a cripple who cant jump.

This novel approach really helps the game stand out from the crowd.

It really catches my eye. it really jumps out at me. oh wait, no it doesnt.

That's why they failed in the first place, it was to "Not like the standard MMORPG" besides even if they where to make this FFXI-2, not every single player from FFXI is gonna jump on it, and FFXI has what ? 400-500k subs ? That's bad for a MMO today, specially one that has cost 50USD+, some people seem to forget SE is a company, and company's like to make money, and lots of it.

FFXI doesnt even have 500k subs. Five years ago, maybe.

Is the original poster being serious?

Anyway, maybe not archaic no instructions kill 3 mobs at the same time while facing meca at 4:20 PM while competing for the rights to practice brain surgery on a cow while sitting in a small cube for 4 hours looking at flies difficult like XI, but I do feel XIV needs a definite infusion of skill based play and difficulty to leave me with an actual sense of satisfaction after a play session.

Also they could add a toned down version of the above for players who enjoy longer play sessions and would rather not be penalized by the demands of players who only have time to eat a piece of toast or bowl of oatmeal with their chocobo while the rest of us would rather be enjoying a steak.
