The job of the healer is to heal. The resources they have at their disposal will be put first toward that goal. Lucid dreaming grants two effects, refresh and reducing enmity. Refresh directly contributes toward the healer's primary function, reduction of enmity does not. Therefore the strategy behind the usage of lucid dreaming will revolve around keeping the healer topped up on mp first and foremost. That is how lucid dreaming helps a healer, emphasis on the heal part by the way, perform their role.

Secondly stop making assumptions.

Okay roll it back a bit.

"It"s an advanced strategy for pre-made group." It's literally the press of a button every 2 minutes. A SINGLE. BUTTON. EVERY 2. MINUTES. Literally not any different than using Riddle of Fire or Raging Strikes. Also if enmity is an issue, why are you not using voke + shirk for your MT when available? I've been pugging for the last month to farm dogs and what not and not ONCE have I had aggro issues while being in Deliverance. So if you had issues in your groups, either tanks f'd up or you got some god tier DPS to rip that easy. Considering this is XIV, I'm willing to bet on the first option.

It's obviously an advanced strategy because too many tanks don't know how to establish initial aggro. And I WAS using shirk, it's fairly ineffective 2 seconds into the fight by the way.

Ha, now we go deeper. "2 seconds into the fight" you say? Sounds more like the MT didn't know their aggro opener. Done deal, tank f'd up. Case of bad being bad.

Come on guys, this argument becomes completely irrelevant in 24h. Diversion is getting removed, lucid doesn't reduce enmity any more. Can you just drop it?

No? Because people not knowing openers will still be a thing. DPS treating threat meters like DPS meters are still going to be a thing. The problem will just be on the tanks now. Not using their tank stance ability to generate more threat on cooldown.

Yeah, this is a problem. When you go look for rotations and optimisation such, what you often find is things like "A tank should never be in tank stance", or "don't use your enmity combo because it is a dps loss". Which is fine when you're in a static and everyone knows what they're doing. But when you're in Normal dutyfinder content and your newbie tank with incomplete levelling gear is trying to follow the same meta you're gonna have a problem. Especially if the dps they're paired with have no idea about this meta where enmity management is up to them instead of the tank, which is gonna be most people.

People at duty finder don't follow the meta (from my experience most PF don't care either) and most players won't even think about it outside having a party composition that makes sense. Reality is: some players just refuse to use certain skills because "reasons".

And I will say this again: a newbie tank can have problems keeping enmity even if he is using tank stance (is going to happen tomorrow too). Cost me nothing to use something like diversion/feint to help him out. Not doing it "because is not my problem" is the ultimate toxic elitist expression. Using all skills, or at least trying, at my disposal should be the default and not the "extra mile".

Only if we all acknowledge the reason for these changes are because some people can't read toolkits and are selective about what roles should be doing what.

Just because things are changing or being removed doesnt make the mentality suddenly true. There's some blatantly false things being said about Lucid as it is now before the 24h are through.


More concerning, there are some blatantly false things being said about "meta groups" and "pre-made parties" here, and i dont think the ability to party together is being removed.

I think the main issue here is someone is not as skilled as they seem to think in their head, they're getting called out, and bruised egos are known for their ability to quietly ride off into the sunset with grace and dignity, eh?
