I had a Haukke Manor HM run with the tank dual boxing a DPS account. A NIN in this case. The guy was pretty much in autofollow the whole run, auto attacking everything, not dodging anything. Barely doing anything. ; ; I asked if he was dual boxing because it was too obvious. He said "no". I didn't want to say anything to avoid conflict. But oh boi, people don't care about others anymore it seems. ; ;

Queue with friends for Dun Scaith. Halfway through first fight, WHM starts talking shit about one of my friends not doing enough dps. I leave it alone because it's one person and I figure they'll stop etc etc.

Get to 2nd fight and halfway through the fight, WHM goes "hey kick (insert name here) she isnt doing anything" O-Oh you mean as opposed to you WHM who is barely healing, barely doing dps, and yet still finds a way to get hit by almost every mechanic? Imagine what you could accomplish if you focused on your own shit. sigh, but again, I don't say anything because I figure no one is paying them any mind.

Halfway through Queen, WHM still running her mouth and BLM decides to start running their mouth too ganging up on my friend. At some point the BLM posted a link to what he said was a screenshot. I'm on PS4 and it was the middle of the fight (which now that I think about it, it was awesome of that BLM to stop dpsing, take a screenshot, upload it to imgur, and then post it in chat in the middle of the fight. Real team player, that one.). but from the way he talked about it, I can only assume it was a screenshot of his parser. He kept saying it was proof my friend wasn't doing enough dps so what else could it be, ya know? Nah, I don't play that. You can run your mouth by your lonesome all you want for all I care. When you gang up on someone, who isn't even trying to fight back btw, because you think you smell blood in the water. Noooooope, now I step in and words start flying. Someone neither the WHM nor BLM understand how they were being rude. Really? You're ganging up on one person, saying they suck and they should be kicked? Oh yeah, awesome, thanks for your valuable contributions!

Anywho, get to Diablos and at this point, they've gone quiet. Not trying to toot my own horn, but it's fascinating how fast bullies shut up when someone steps up to them. In any case, as per usual, tons of people die during the fight, but guess which two people died the most? ding ding ding, you guessed it. The WHM and BLM. Funny how you two run your mouths at other's mistakes, but don't have anything to say about your own.

Wanna know the kicker to all this though? The thing that truly makes my blood boil? They were both mentors.

100% serious: if someone is DPS shaming and posting parser data - report for harassment.

There are good ways and bad ways to encourage players to do better - shaming is not one of the good ways.

Just had a pretty epic run in Haukke Manor NM - friend wants to level dragoon, so I join them as paladin. We get another lancer and an ast.
Now, Haukke Manor NM is one of the dungeons I like to do slow pulls in - mainly because of the Succubi that are roaming around and should be stunned. Also its a level 28-31 duty, so basically no class has any real AoE - which is even more true in this case, with this set-up.
However, the ast is obviously used to big pulls, because while I'm pulling the first Succubus, they run ahead and pull to more groups (one including another succubus). I ask politly of them not to pull and my friend points out that we dont have AoE anyways. The ast, however, disagrees and is fully convinced that dragoons get a frontal AoE at level 31 - after hes told that thats not the case (nevermind that the lancer was level 28 so even if it would have been true, they wouldnt have got that skill yet) and that skill is indeed level 42 they say "Have fun then." and disconnects.
So that douchebag is now hoping we're going to kick him because he got stuck in a low level leveling dungeon without AoE and therefor no massive pulls like in level 60 dutys? We dont think so!
Instead of kicking him, we went on with our journey, I crossclass cure, both dps help with tanking a little and we still finish the dungeon within 20 minutes, despite having no healer.

...and I hope that person logged into the client about 10 times during that 20 minute run just to be furious about seeing that his character was still stuck in the dungeon and not kicked yet.

That's fair enough, especially if it's the players first Class and they don't have any cross class skills.
It ultimately depends on the player. As I have said before, if you've mostly been running into bad players, then you're just an unlucky person... or I'm very lucky (excluding loot rolls).

But the exp gained in PotD is easily gained with no effort, you can grind the palace all over again to level one class from 1 to 60 so fast that people are using it over the roulette. When i leveled Monk there in that fashion i looked at guides and practiced in dungueons before going into anything serious with the class.That is what i did, sadly not everyone does that and just jump into the high level content thinking they know what they are doing and giving orders to actual player who know their job.


It's... It's good to level a class and it is fun, i really like the place, but before i left the game for a break recently i just encountered to many players who behaves like it's entitled to everything because "I just leveled that class to level "x" in PotG and i know how it works"... Or you just see the occasional player in a raid with a job (not a class, a job) because they didnt had time to level another one to 60. Or ignoring advice because "it's a story dungueon and i do what i want, dont tell me how to play".

I love the game and i know most of the community it's not like this, but this kind of thing it's getting out of hand at an alarming rate.

I know this is different for this thread but I had a bizarre loss the other night in pvp Frontline Shatter

Start was great and we completely break 2 big ices and a bunch of smallstuff and sitting at 1271. 800 point lead. When suddenly the alliances decide that they'd just... zerg bases? So A (mine) was defending the usual regroup point (at the base of the valley leading to your respective base). Alliance B decided to zerg adder and C zerged male. I couldn't believe it.

They get swallowed. Then we get wrecked at our spot and then suddenly our base was taken.

Never have I seen a loss like that. It was truely a specticle to go from a decisive win to a loss

I think you have those switched around...

You start as a class and unlock the jobs as you level up.
(Not counting the expansion jobs)

My duty finder group just broke up at the first boss of Wanderer's Palace (Hard) of all things.

The tank was new and said so, pulled small pulls, but they were not a problem. The other dps was kind of low dps, but was not really an issue since it wasn't completely horrible and they had the returnee marker so it was understandable. My dps was a lot better, but probably still wasn't the greatest either since I was only on a level 56 job with average ilevel 126 gear.

The healer, however, commented on the small pulls. They also did not dps at all, meaning they just stood there asking for bigger pulls in between the occasional heal. At this point I'm not really caring about their behaviour, since I'm just focusing on my job in order to get a clear and my tomes and if the tank wants to pull small that's fine with me and we're killing stuff just fine. They also weren't overtly rude about it, so whatever.

Anyway, almost immediately after the boss fight starts the other DPS disconnects, and neither the tank or the healer helped with spear adds. The tank because he didn't know to, and the healer because they weren't dpsing in the first place. Needless to say the boss wiped. No biggie. It happens. I asked for help with the spears mid-fight since I was only outputting enough damage on my own to take out one wave of spears in time for the next one to spawn. The tank stepped up to help once I asked, but by then it was too late. Stacks were just too high by then:

On the way to the boss again, I briefly explained the mechs of the boss fight as follows:

We started the next fight with the other dps back. The tank helped dps spears, the other dps was doing their stuff albeit with low output, but they were doing their job so I'm happy. But I noticed that the healer was not healing me at all, although they were being very diligent in healing everyone else between all their standing around not doing anything. Not one Cure, regen, or AoE heal thrown my way despite the unavoidable targeted damage that this boss puts out. I died shortly before killing the second spear (the first one of the pair that spawns in the second wave) as a result. Another full wave of spears went by before they decide to raise me, by which point the fight had already long been lost due to everyone having like 8 to 10 stacks of the debuff. I responded to the raise with:

So let me make sure I understand this logic. They're the one who purposely wiped a fight that relies on a dps check by refusing to heal the group's primary source of dps presumably over some offense taken by explaining mechanics after a previous wipe... and I'm the one who's a bit of a jerk. Okay, sure.

The tank leaves without saying anything right at this point. I follow, since I don't want to bother getting further into an argument with this person who is petty enough to wipe a fight over... I'm not even sure what.

Good riddance to that healer. I totally would have stayed to help the other two if the tank hadn't taken the initiative to leave on their own. Hopefully that tank and dps's next runs were a good one like mine was.

I know it is light farm and blablablablabla DPS Blablablabl more DPS becuase this game is only DPS blablablab DPS because bablabla DPS DPS and DPS etc etc etc.

BUT

For the love of God, can you tank the adds on Faust (AS1) when you are a TANK? I'm tired of being healer-punching-bag.

This happened in WoD just a few minutes ago:

Before Cerberus, I tell the alliances what to do (adds, belly, chains) since there are always some people completely oblivious to mechanics in WoD.

I'm in alliance B, so our job is to become tiny and be eaten.
Our tank dies because he didn't go near the purple orb add.
Me: "I told you, you need to become tiny in order to be eaten alive! Tiny!"

Tank: "how do I become tiny"

Me: "scroll up, I literally wrote it down for you one or two minutes ago"

silence

I know it's nothing major, but these people always baffle me.

I wish Cure III wasn't a spell. I genuinely wish it did not exist. Because when stupid WHMs insist on spamming it on me and run out of MP constantly, despite me cycling through cooldowns and doing everything possible to mitigate damage so they would stop spamming Cure III on me, they cause wipes due to not being able to heal anymore.

And when I explain to them, over and over and over and OVER AGAIN, that spamming Cure III is not the way to go, going so far as to explicitly point out how Cure III takes more MP than Cure II and heals less, and that maybe they should use Divine Seal and Shroud of Saints, and I get completely and utterly ignored, causing more and more wipes...

Yeah, sure. It's my fault for being a jerk tank. You know, spending half an hour explaining the same thing over again to an idiot who keeps on smiling and nodding at me, then proceeds to keep doing the same things that get us wiped. That's what a jerk tank does.

I have never wanted to slap somebody this hard before in my life. That ought to be an achievement right there.

I have never before wished that this game was harder. Can it please be more difficult? Can it please just force people to learn their jobs? Please? Is that so much to ask, that people have to at least get some sense forcibly kicked into their heads before they're inflicted upon the rest of us?

Yep. And the instant you boot someone for being stupid, they come here and start a thread about how mean people are.

I've only ever done it with "all DPS in the belly" on Cerberus. Only a problem when the tanks let the adds kill the healers outside before the DPS finish up. Just be sure to stop singing Foe Req before you get swallowed or you will have instant friends. *1000 yard stare*

The amount of idiots in diadem is baffling. I feel like I need a macro for the beginning, "Remember boys and girls~ This is not unsynced trash content. We will die if idiots pull more than tank/healers can handle." I am personally offended on behalf of the tanks I've run with. DPS pulling dozens of mobs (often in the grade 3 fates), hitting everything willy-nilly before tank even has a chance to get there. Then they have the balls to make snide comments to the tanks/healers (mostly to tanks) when they get swarmed and die! I swear, this shite right here is why we're losing good tanks to other Jobs. :(

Got back into a dungeon after 9 months (only played 2 1/2 months before that). Figured a leveling duty would be OK, got SV. I remembered this one:

- Stand behind 1st boss.
- Fire cannons on 2nd.
- Follow others on 3rd.

Up to 1st boss was OK. Was in CS a lot, tank in grit. But...then I panicked on first boss because health was dropping in the group & couldn't find Succor. Gave up & tried healing tank who was dropping like a rock. Too late. Rezzed tank, forgot to heal myself & went down. Then the game wouldn't let me spawn at the start...?

Trash pulls got harder, heals felt weak. Tank had dropped grit, which is fine, but I was spam healing to keep him alive (no, didn't leave CS on). Actually had a trash pull death <intense healer shame>

Second boss = OK. Last boss my weak heals were saved by a quick kill. Tank left, others hung around and were nice. Gear wasn't broken, so maybe I just don't remember how hard dungeons are?

^To clarify due to character limit, the group never wiped, no one complained in text chat, and while I had watched video guides of all leveling dungeons a few weeks ago, I hadn't forgotten SV. I really do know where Succor is on my bar, but I've been practicing game feel and movement with FATEs and Beast quests so I hadn't been regularly using it, didn't have it on autopilot when I needed it.

Granted, it was PF, but still...
I was in a Zurvan Ex practice group when our tank had to leave so we put up PF again. Another Tank joined and after two wipes he said
"I'm gone ppl don't know strat. Don't want to waste my time"
and we were just baffled because it was a practice group and it said specifically there will be a lot of wipes. Either that person didn't read and just joined or they believed practicing is something else...

knowing the strat and applying your knowledge to the actual fight are two different things. It's really hard even if you know what to do.

Great Gubal Library Hard, starting a new relic. DRG never used heavy thrust, though he did use blood of the Dragon and its procs, and an occasional gierskogul. It was his only job at 60........I couldn't bring myself to say anything.

I'm positive this is a badly played DRK thing. I'm a 252 healer and I still have to spam heal them just to keep them from turning into a crimson mist in one GCD. Plus, you having weakness probably didn't help matters. Just take it with a grain of salt and push on!

Auto-kick. I don't need more. That line is enough to know who type the player is. if the party refuses to kick him, then I leave. I prefer 30 minutes wait than allow this behaviour. If everyone do this, this kind of player will stop play or stop doing shit. Same for the bullshit in party finder and similar.

Every dungeon post lvl 60 is easily doable without a tank if the healer is willing to keep the DPS alive, so next time this happens you don't have to sit for 30 minutes waiting for one. Just laying it out there cause there's an awful amount of princess tanks running around in DF, and I've had to three-man EX and lvl 60 roulettes far too many times without tanks for whatever reasons. We usually end up getting a new tank around the time we reach the second or last boss lmao.

Just take the pulls one by one and damage is usually not big enough for anyone to die so long as the healer keeps their HoTs and tools in hand.

Join Expert Roulette, it's Baelsars Wall, and we have a Tank and Healer with Mentor status and a Monk. The Monk's gear level is low and insists on fighting the mobs with Fists of Earth......anyway we get to first boss and the MNK doesn't even attempt to fight the adds, so I have to kill both of them. I type "Adds" in the party chat when they pop the second time and MNK still doesn't kill them. The Monk dies because he is on the aoe (the blue line thingie) and has an add on him. I then get blamed by the tank.

Seriously?

I have to run to kill the add, I also have casting time....the MNK does not. He could have easily killed the add that was right next to him. It's not my sole job to kill the adds. Really sick of the blame culture in this game....

Truth be told, depending on the dungeon, your ability, gear and comp, you can even keep doing mass pulls. I had a tank leave on us in Xelphatol at the first boss once and we just had me as MNK tank the rest in Fists of Earth doing the usual door to door pulls. We just AoE/Holy spammed them down and the healer was able to keep me alive from the leftovers after the Holy stuns wore off. We didn't get a replacement until the final boss and we had already pulled it by the time the tank joined, so he was like:" \o/ Free roulette! "

Tank buster moves are scary, tho >_> "On Low" would've one-shot me if it had hit.

Never thought I'd post something like this here, since I tend to have okay experiences in dungeons. xD

Was on my NIN. Had to do Sunken Temple for the lvl 50 MSQ line before getting into Ishgard. The healer and MCH were level synced while the tank was a lvl 35 sprout. I think they were a GLD, if I got the icon right. The two crossed swords.

It was a mess. I ended up tanking the majority of the dungeon, with the MCH second, tank third, and healer last. The tank and healer ended up dying the most while the MCH and I took care of mobs AND the bosses. I ended up tanking every boss in there. I swear it just seemed like the tank and healer were screwing around and not being at all serious. It just seemed like the tank wasn't using any aggro skills since ONE attack from me took complete aggro from the tank. Later I checked my Contact list and saw they were all from the same server, so I'm assuming they were friends and most likely in the same FC. I've just never had a tank so bad at keeping aggro before. Not even on my SMN when I'm AoEing everything in sight.

But yah... I wanted to say something to the tank but I know nothing about tanking in this game so didn't know what to say. I'm glad the healer kept me up, at least when they weren't dead. But it was a complete mess. xD

Oh yeah, definitely. Xelphatol in particular is a really sad dungeon damage-output wise, lmao. Selene could solo heal it alone back when it was the most current dungeon :'D

Had a new person in Keeper of the Lake, think they were together with the SMN in this story.

First boss:
SMN: You need to hide behind the pillars for this one.
Me: ...pillars?
SMN: Wait did I mix this up? Lol I'm so terrible with PvE.

The run went fine, so it's not a bad player, just a funny story to share.

This one's a funny one that happened to me.

A friend and I queue up and get Chrysallis. New healer in the group.

He tells us in Party Chat "Okay guys echo down. We have to be careful."

Barrier drops and he B-lines it for the boss and gets one-shotted. The fight continues with him dead and my friend and I laughing so hard because we cannot figure out what just happened to our lives.

Well we didn't really have to wait for a new Tank because a new one just joined right after he left. Besides the first thing I do when a Tank Quit is usually ask the group if they can ask someone in their own FC to join in as a Tank to help us and I go into my FC to see if there is a Tank as well.

Usually there is one willing to join and it easy replacement for a more willing nicer tank.

Here a funny story back when i was farming tomes for my Anima but I can't remember the exact words since it was last year.

Person: Hey Edwin. Remember me? I see you're doing fine since Grand Chase.

Me: WHO ARE YOU?!!!

Person: I use to play Grand Chase and posted on the Grand Chase Forums. I used to use this name on the Grand CHase forums.

Me: Sorry i don't remember. It has been years since Grand Chase closed down.

Person: It is ok. I am just saying hi and glad you're enjoying yourself in this game.

( I am a bit surprised to run into someone randomly in the DF who knew me back in my Grand Chase years. Small world.)

Just did Soul of the Creator normal. Had an alpha tank (one who immediately says they're tanking regardless, and also orders every single move). This bothered me already, because I consider myself the Ultimate Tank, and I hate people who state the obvious.

So we finish. He then proceeds to say the following:

Ran Void Ark yesterday with the boyfriend. We get queued with another AST who is in Nocturnal. Other AST refuses to help DPS even when my bf points out that AST could be helping with DPS since bf isn't MT. Conversation goes a little like this:

Bf: XXX you could help with DPS you know
AST: Yeah and you're not in tank stance even though you're a tank
Bf: But I'm not MT and no one is dying
AST: Doesn't matter. You don't want heals then?
Proceeds to overwrite my Arrow with a Spear on pt

Naturally, I kind of flip. I ask them nicely again before the coffin phase to not overwrite my buffs. I RR into a balance only to be rewritten by a bole. Sometimes I really wish there was a kick for trolling option. A little painful but I did get a nice Void Ark cloak for a wintery glamour later on ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just ran the expert roulette and got Sohm Al, it was going well other than for the fact the tank would randomly drop his tanking stance half way through pulling mobs, so that we'd end up pulling them off him with ease and he didn't seem to notice or care to take them back off us. Had to use quelling strikes way too frequently.

Then as he's leaving the dungeon he says. "gradz dps scrubs u couldnt even pull aggro"

Hahahahaha.... no... we pulled off you frequently.

Ok, I'm running leveling roulette, get tan tara deepcroft. Why why why does the pld proceed to three pull the whole dungeon with two sprouts as the dds??? We got through it thankfully, but...seriously when I all got is two healing spells and you don't even ask??? smh.
