Pretty much..I remember very clearly people saying they're wrong that people won't complain if they get jump and all it ends up being is an animation/emote of some kind.

Pretty sure that's not how it went down. In fact when Yoshi looked at the results from the poll asking about jump he was shocked that so many people were against it. He said he personally liked it because jumping made it feel like you weren't glued to the ground.

It's not going to be in because it was what a majority wanted. It's going to be in place because the producer himself personally likes having the option. Give me a sec and I'll quote what was said on it.

•Being unable to descend ledges where it seems you can easily fall off
•Feeling of strangeness when you can't climb up a hill that looks to be easily climbable
We have received a lot of feedback pointing these things out from numerous players, but the task of relieving stress during character movement is currently being tested by development in the form of map collision detection adjustments.
If you can think about this separately from the jump implementation discussion it would really help a lot.

Yep, he also likes the concept of Skillchain and MB from FFXI (he actually said this for those of you who thinks he's ignoring this game) so I hope no one complains or is surprised if battle regimen ends up as a spirtual successor to it when it's reimplemented.

Believe it or not I have been playing xi since '04. I still do. In fact I'm on your server. Imagine that D: lol

I have no problem with xi's elements being incorporated into xiv. I just don't like the time sinks for the sake of time sinks in both games. If done correctly I think the battle regimen would be a nice addition. I loved sc'ing in xi, sadly no one does it anymore.

being able to bunny hop around is more realistic than not being able to jump up or down a 1 foot cliff. Not having jump breaks my immersion.

It's JUST JUMPING. This 21 page thread exists because one guy is disgusted by the possibility of seeing characters jump around?

No words FFXIV forums. No words. That's not to say I believe this game NEEDS a jump command, but at the same time, why not?

I make no sense yet the ones in here hating on jump are pretty much all XI players. All the others played WOW and other mmos and obviously would not have been playing those games if they hated jump so bad and i'm sure none of them quit their MMOs to come to XIV just cuz it didn't have jump.

and your excuse of other mmo not having jump..... im sure you mean all kind of games that are not even worth mentioning or others that are not even in the same category as XIV and that have not been built to support the feature even if they wanted to. So your point is?
