[DEV Question] Why is this allowed?

Has happened to me, as I've mentioned before I had a WHM using a 145 weapon in Gubal Hard. Was impossible to keep the tank alive even though he was doing normal pulls (one pack at a time). Had to boot the healer.

So people who say it's a non-issue clearly have never encountered this situation, or they have but it was dps and therefore acceptable.

Pretty much. And I'm speaking for myself included. Now, I wouldn't use the term "accept." Moreso leaning towards "relate" all the while being able to understand. I've tanked before, I know what it's like to need to be in good condition to run EX content. I also know the importance of VIT and knowing my buttons. But, I DPS because I realized I cared much more about the world and story over raids.

He met the min item level in general did he not? Can't force everyone to be equal.. would make the game boring...

You do realise you've been arguing for the opposite of what has been talked about in this thread right? You are one of the people I think the person you responded to was talking about.

Honestly I could probably reliably keep a tank doing small pulls alive with an even weaker weapon. Surprisingly gear may affect raw numbers but player skill it does not. I mean yeah it probably easy to say "oh his gear was low" but chances are so was his skill level.

I can meet min ilvl as tank with less HP than most bosses hit for auto attacks. That doesn't make it Okay.

Mhmm true am not gonna deny that, still even with a low skill level it wouldn't have been an issue using appropriate gear. Anyone can heal 1 trash pack at a time.

Not much can be done about people individual skill levels as that is something they have to learn themselves. Can do something about inappropriate gear coupled with this compunding the issue for anyone unfortunate enough to come into contact with these people.

While I see your point and agree that SE shouldnt be "babysitting" us, I would consider this rather as preventing people from trolling than babysitting... yes, you can kick them, but why not make it impossible to see this happen at all? Is having a level 60 weapon in level 60 content really to much to ask? And is it really babysitting when the game doesnt allow you to queue with a weapon thats not appropriate for the content? Do you consider the minimum ilvl we have in place babysitting aswell? (as a reminder: that minimum ilvl wasnt always a thing!)

If we wipe because of their gear, it'll be pretty obvious after the first or second wipe. Then we'll just replace them. Like really it's not that big a deal lol stuff happens. That's just life. Sometimes you get a dud in your party and sometimes it works out.

To be honest, yes. Not that I really care that much since the ilvl requirements in MMOs are typically easy to reach but I've never been a fan of them. If they got rid of ilvls I can't say I'd complain.

No, my original post was about how the lala earned that penalty and why I think the simplest solution is to not use DF at all. Then you wanted to argue about why you think that I'm wrong for building perfection right off the bat.
