Yea im pretty upset that they didnt tell us about this in 1.0.
I would have worked harder to kill van darnus if I knew it was a requirement for legacy cutscenes in 2.0 :(

Thank you so much for the answer!
This might explain alot. Too sad that I didn't had the opportunity to finish the quest - started 1.0 in July '12 and I think this was one of my last quests that I didn't manage to do.
I'm kinda dissapointed, but I'll have to deal with it, I guess. As someone already said, I'll just imagine that I was unimportant enough that they've all forgotten me ^^"
Thanks again, Camate!
Well I was right about one thing. "It was like we never existed..." Anyways, what's done is done and case is close. Onto the next issue that isn't just complaining and is actually an issue.
Thanks Camate, the ever reliable one.
This...actually ruins some of my excitement. Still a great game and it isn't gonna stop me from playing or anything but...I am severely disappoint :[
Well, I am highly disappointed that this, as far as I've heard, was never communicated to the playerbase before it wasn't possible to qualify.
If this had been mentioned before, there wouldn't have been so many people thinking it was bugged, and someone would have been able to answer a lot sooner.
Guess you should have played through the 1.0 main story. If you didn't you are not a warrior of light. You are a bystander of light.
It was not part of the original main story line from the Tanaka team, but it was part of the 7th umbral era story.
Sneak in Castrum Novum, destroy the machine that lead Dalamud down, meet Darnus who go crazy with red eyes.
United we stand
I think "Don't hate the messenger" (the GC quest before United we stand) would have suited better as a prerequisite, because in this quest we bring the 3 GC to work together
Don't hate the messenger
