Right, so I try to read logged out and let everyone have opinions but this crap really needs to stop.
There are a few skills in other jobs that may help out the group in tough situations but they are FAR from REQUIRED, If they're really designed to REQUIRE something, chances are before you can attain something or go somewhere the game wouldn't allow it.
(E.G Advanced Jobs, Whitemage/ Black mage) It's a improved base class, but the base class can still perform the same if not more moves than the advanced class, so Why have them at all if the skills are all that matter? ( Res being available to all base but 2 advanced) However, thankfully the jobs provide with more skills and bonuses that fit unique to our roles therefore they' become a core component and required to perform optimally AND MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS TO EQUIP/USE ITEMS.
NO WHERE, does it ever state that (Gae Bolge Item level 90 Requirements DRG LNC PGL 20, MRD 35, Spacecow 50) Content may be harder without some niche skills, but usually if you're doing your job right then it should never hit that point. Each one is capable of accomplishing endgame without the need for other skill, they're nice. But again not a requirement.
A healer who doesn't let the party die will probabaly never use swiftcast raise ever. A healer who THINKS They're he shit and lets someone die because their holy, will probabably need Swiftcast raise a lot.
And Yes, Gear does matter quite a lot. Look at a damage formula and do the math, Like most people you probabaly never made it past College Algebra 1 but you can try.
I find this thread amusing.
Personal opinion on that matter ? I don't care. Play what you like. You will be much more efficient at it than playing something you don't like.
Edit: By the way, I 2 healed Titan HM with the worst gear ever, without THM or ACN leveled up more than 15. And yes, I got my Relic. With a PuG. If you know your class, you shouldn't NEED to have cross-class skills (although I admit, it would help)
ITT: OP is prime example of the type of elistist cockroach that we need out of this game, and that will hopefully leave by the time the 30 days trial expires.
Can't wait for those ''pros'' (big twelve feet tall quotes here) to be gone so we can have a nice community out there! :)
I love these kind of threads where some random person makes a random thread to post a random opinion and tries to pass it off as if it's some kind of universal truth that only he/she is enlightened enough to understand and therefore must spread the word to the masses while boosting his ego as being the enlightened one.
If you had a bad experience with people who lacks the experience or skill needed to do certain contents, I'd suggest you talk to those people directly instead of posting another "if only people were as awesome as me" rant on the forums because you won't find the ego boost you need here.
I know, don't feed the blah blah blah. Sorry.
All subclasses to level 50....
Yeah,how about no.
Since when was min/maxing the definition of endgame? Endgame doesn't implicitly mean you must have the optimal setup for each boss, each turn, each bowel movment. I used to play like you in an old MMO (the one that shall not be named), OP. It'll wear on you and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the game and have fun.ith the people playing - all of them.
Decent troll 5/10, you got some people to bite.
OP, you're hilarious. hahahahahaha
What kind of delusional Final Fantasy do you live in? I'd like to visit someday...
I cant believe I just read that entire post without laughing my ass off. Do you know what the minimum requirements are? Did you design the game? Its difficulty? Did you do any controlled testing to see what it is? You do know what the difference between requirement and optimal are right?
Well then, I dare say you dont know what youre talking about. "Sorry"
Sorry snowflake, youre not special. Just another arrogant elitist whose only source of pride and self worth come from a video game which is taken WAAAY too seriously. You obviously believe yourself to be gods among ants with the universal right to judge others against your own personal, very subjective, ignorant standards. Again ... "Sorry"
I disagree that you need both classes that you pull from at 50, but otherwise agree with the sentiment on the whole.
If you're a WHM or SCH, you need to have Swift Cast. Having an instant spell or raise is too powerful not to have.
Also, for the love of god, if you're a WAR - Level your GLD and PGL. >_>
I agree
i watched a kill video of HM Titan once and then i went in there and one shotted it
the fight is so easy
here is the video proof
http://www.twitch.tv/ceelo_mage/c/2960912
I get so sad to see how so many people sabotage a fight as simple as Titan to sell titan runs
for OP just a LOL is enough
OP's first mistake is shouting to fill an endgame party. I would think of doing real endgame with a pug as an extreme last resort. If you don't have an FC to do your big boy endgame runs with, how can you claim to know what you are doing and dictate what others do?
If you pug anything, expect pug standards. they're pretty low.
I inquired about the specific LS to an in game /shout. I mentioned that I had 3 50s and would prefer to tank. The OPs response was that the tank spots were taken and while I didn't even mention I wanted to heal i was given the "Your WHM isn't where it needs to be for me to accept you" which I was okay with.
For constructive criticism for the OP you really need to specify what you want when your shouting to hundreds of players. Even if you feel like it should be commonsense for some its not. Your /shout was "LFM to Join --------- LS for endgame must have full DL + relic" (paraphrased) it did not mention that you weren't looking for roles, or any other demands such as experience with fights, sub job, play time, ect.
Overall you could of avoided the headache of filtering through applicants by being more specific on your end. Good luck on your endeavors but since your haven't commented on your own thread in awhile I doubt your still reading.
OP sounds like he just wants pro players to carry him through the content.
Endgame is after level 50. There can be different tiers of endgame but its all end game. They simply weren't prepared for the content they were attempting which doesn't have anything to do with the definition of endgame.
OP with a 31 ARN, playing BLM without Eye for Eye to help his party talking about the necessity to level secondary classes to 50... Seems legit.
By the way it's Swiftcast not Fastcast and you don't need your secondary classes to 50, you just ideally want all the cross class skills.
While the OP was well intentioned I don't think he's quite on the mark. Basically if you play a tank or healer class you will always have a spot on the team, however if you are a DPS main you should really also have a healer/tank class available if you want to be actually useful to your FC/LS mates. Many groups tend to stick with a smaller core that can cover multiple classes as needed so whoever is online will be able to jump in and help out with some of the harder content. So in addition to leveling your subclass abilities try and find one more of the core jobs that you might be interested in to be a more well rounded player, this is not WoW so don't limit yourself to being a one-trick pony.
Honestly I don't get it.
While it is a given that anyone can play anyway they choose, I just can't help but feel that we are now very much part of a generation that prides personal gain in a video game over friendship and community. I'm only in my early 30's but already I feel like I'm a dinosaur in a bygone age of gaming where giving help to others was partly what is was all about. Almost none of that exists anymore - instant gratification at its finest.
I'm not saying that internet gaming in general used to be sunshine and rainbows, but it is now markedly different to how I remember it when I first started out.
Fact is almost everyone who ever sees your "hard earned" gear pretty much doesn't care and won't remember you at all. But you can bet yourself that those who give help and seek nothing in return will have the opportunity to form lasting friendships from those encounters.
It is saddening to see that so many chose the shiny pixelated gear when weighing the two next to eachother.
OP, you so silly. I love that people are actually saying things like this a month after the game is released, even if it is just a troll. I mean, were we not, all of us, noobs just a few weeks ago? But whatever, if you want to watch the world burn by saying something silly on the forums, I hope you got what you were seeking. If you're serious, enjoy soullessly grinding away with however many other soulless grinders you manage to find. I'll play the game my way, and as far away from you as possible.
Hmmm. I don't really know how I feel about this thread.
I like the message, but dislike the execution. I can't tell if I want to cheer you on, or call you an elitist basement-dweller.
Either way, good post, I hate you.
OP should probably start to look outside the window for a moment. There's things called heaven, clouds, oceans, winds and the like. And that is real. I feel a bit ashamed for being a gamer and find this kinds of topics where the game seem to matter more than their own life.
Calm down buddy
I'm not sure why you are being so aggressive. None of us care whether or not you accept our "playstyle" because we have no desire to play with you. You are also not the only group running coil, so I can just take my DRG or MNK or w/e elsewhere.
People who do endgame well get it done using any of the available classes. They dont need an "optimal party setup" to complete coil efficiently.
Some advice to the OP to help him both in game, with the community, and in life.
Understand the game before making posts. You clearly lacked understanding yourself, and make statements that didn't hold merit. Unless you simply didn't word it correctly. Leveling jobs beyond the 30 mark really has no merit and due to the point at which class job missions end and abilities become Job based which do not carry over to other jobs.
If you mean balanced by have Jobs of 3 main tpes (tank, DD, Healer) Well guys like me have that covered. Across two characters, it is almost completely covered.
I noticed you yourself have not completed all aspects of one 50 job, which technically, you haven't finished all pre-end game content.
Anything Post 50 at level 50+ is end game. Even tho no one is truly complete.
You need to learn to step back. Stop trying to be in charge of everyone. Otherwise with you current mind set, you will end up being highly avoided by the majority of other players.
Already seen this on Hyperion as well, except it faded faster. Those who tried to tell others their value, have very poor leadership skills (meaning they are not leaders, they are disruptors and nothing more) end up suddenly not getting requests to join and hard times filling spots.
No one will want to join your little group who is in fact dependent on others in order to succeed.
So OP. One thing is very clear. You in no way, in your current thinking, and abilities, should be in any leadership role.
I like being good at what I do. Therefore, I like to be good at the games I play. Having said that, though, I don't really go so far as to make the games I play the most important thing in my life, like hardcore gamers tend to do. I rather prefer to play with the semi-progression crowd. They treat people with respect, and like they're actually human beings. Not just a number on a meter.
Hardcore gamers seek to kill the actual essence of online gaming, in my opinion. When your fun gets replaced with pressure and stress, it's time to back away from the monitor and step outside for a breath of fresh air.
To the OP. Do you really think the attitude you're carrying around is going to take you somewhere in the future? Is stepping on people of lesser skill going to make you somebody? In 5 years, what you're doing right now won't mean shit to anyone, including you. Elitist assholes really need to check themselves.
Seems pretty insane to "require" people to even have 2 jobs at 50, nevermind having 3...I leveled up a Brd to 1st and then a whm both to 50 as I wanted to have a support class as well to get things done quicker, as a Whm the only thing I need is to level up a thm to level 27 i think it is just for swiftcast (tbh as a whm you should really make it your job to get as it can be a life saver for the whole party when resing) and for my bard I just need to get a lancer up to 36 or 37 simply for 1 buff.
I tend to play games to a semi-hardcore level in which I spend a lot of time playing, but I know when to limit my self so I don't end up as some elitist that ends up being the poison to a game that doesn't give newcomers any hope of progression, end up raging at them and making them quit the instance and eventually the game it self due to them hating the community too much to not want to get shouted at in a game that they're trying to simply enjoy.
welcome to wow....what a bunch of idiots here..
Sorry, with my one lvl 50 I think me running Binding Coil I'm at end game. Deal with it, more QQ for no reason.
Er Mer Gawd like you need 3 lvl 50's before you can endgame. I mean Errr Mer Gawdd
The only time I will level another class is to get an ability from it, or if I feel like playing something other then a SMN for a while.
Nice, another thread hosted by someone who has no idea what they're talking about.
Mass amount of 50s = Skill?
Jack of all trades, master of none IMO. and btw, you don't need any jobs at 50 for sub class abilities. Please go get yourself informed before you make another ridiculous thread like this.
God, even your avatar looks obnoxious. This is the saddest thing I've read on this forum in a very long time.
If you're so hardcore why are you still wearing darklight? where's your coil gear bigshot?
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...racter/436284/
You're still wearing item level 52 equipment Someone's not ready for endgame. hooo? what's this? greens? Wow, someone stop this guy he's attempting endgame in imperfect gear!
Better yet, you're on my server, cool, now i know who to blacklist.
This = dumb. The main ESSENTIAL skill from THM is Swiftcast, which you get at lvl 26 THM. Once you've gotten that, there is NOTHING gotten past that level that you can even cross class in for WHM.
Eye for an Eye is the last thing you can cross class from Arcanist, which you get at lvl 34 Arcanist.
Almost all jobs are like this. Once sub classes are to a certain level, you've literally gotten everything you can possibly get from them for your class, so why would you need to continue on with them to 50?
STFU. YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE ENDGAME!
Firstly, you're /shouting for endgame parties? WTF
Coil is 8 people... how do you NOT have 8 people ready and willing for Coil? you're complaining about people not being ready for endgame, if you can't organize a FC/LS that has 8 people 'ready' for coil then YOU are not ready for endgame.
Hang on, you run a primal farming and coil LS? AND YOU STILL CAN NOT GET 8 PEOPLE TOGETHER?
3 level 50's for endgame hahaha
You are a complete joke sir.
I did Coil with level 50 SUM and level 26 THM.
So since you must of leveled more classes to 50 then me, I guess I'm better then you because I did it with less level 50 classes.
You just got Elitist-ed at your own Elitism game.
