2 HOUR QUEUE TIMES? MORE DUTY FINDER SERVERS NEED TO BE ADDED ASAP!

Uh. They don't need to add more duty finder servers... that's the problem. They need to go back to having one duty finder server per data center. What they NEED to do is change the code and add hardware to support their population on FEWER duty finder servers. The larger the pool to select players from, the faster the queues.

I'm not lvl 50 yet, but I sure hope they resolve this issue quickly. If you have a group all formed up and hit "Enter", there should be ZERO wait. I feel for you guys going through this, as I'm not sure I'd be able to tolerate it myself. This is bad form on SE's part :(

You guys didn't know? This is how you slow down the end game grind so people have to spend longer in the game. Duh.

All joking aside, my friends have complained about it and they're getting sick of tired of the wait. So much that they might just quit for a while and come back when this stuff gets fixed. Nobody should pay for a game in which you can't even play. In this case it's doing the ridiculous grind they have to in order to get the end game gear.

People say craft or level up another class, etc. But if you don't want to craft or level up another class then you shouldn't be punished for that decision. Not unless those other classes could give you a cross skill benefit. But I have always hated crafting, and when I hit 50 and this problem still exists I probably won't be happy with it either. I like combat, combat classes is what I like to play.

I've taken a backseat approach and decided to take my time. I'm not even 50 yet on any class, hell I haven't even gotten a class yet still on jobs. I'll hit 50 on my first and then proceed to work on the next, and the next and the next. While doing crafting, which I plan to farm all the materials myself. It'll take time but I'm okay with that, I'm not in a rush. By the time I sit down and decided to do endgame stuff all this hubbub will be fixed and a distant memory.

not only that, but its also what happens when the majority of your content (most of it endgame, which people are very quickly getting to) is just instanced and more instanced stuff. How about some NM/HNMs...faction leves (which were popable versions) Open dungeons, have the beastmen camps do what they did in 1.0 which was that they would drop keys and you could pop coffers for a change at some good gear or random loot/gil. What about a group city defense like XI had for ToAU. Maybe high end only areas sort of like sky and sea that a mix of stuff purely for 50's and you had to do some challanging stuff to get to it.

I get most of my ideas are from XI/1.0, but im not gonna stick to this game if all we do is linear gear treadmill through instance dungeons...dont think many people in general will.

It is extremely aggravating when people don't come back in time to commence. Whole group drops and has to reform. It feels like I am getting placed to the back of the queue rather than coming next it line as we should have been anyways.

Also everyone that cried to take away the speed runs, this is your reward.


More people trying to do AK as they get 50, with having it take 20-30mins longer than the speed runs = less instants available to cycle through the amount of people wanting to do AK.

So if you were one of the people screaming for speed runs to be gone, take your meds, drink water and move on.

Worst part is other than the materia melding the crafting for the most part is useless, gear is easily negated by GC items or dungeon drops. The only worthwhile crafting skill is probably for the food.

Probably because OP is the only one this happens to. Ive done plenty of premades and always near instapop.

In FF11 you waited more then 10 hours just for exp pt so 2 is np really XD to me anyway.

I'm a DPS and have learned to alway s queue with a premade, even when I do though, there is a 30min avg reserving instance bubble in between. Really unacceptable

imagine defending Square-Enix after they "fixed" the problem. The only thing that was fixed was people were capped when the "fix" was implemented so it seemed like the waits were fixed.

Cactuar Server has 20-40 min ques for premades tonight makes me /sad

Problem is this doesn't apply to AK. You can have a fully formed group and still wait upwards of 20-30 minutes due to all the instances being full for it.

Two parts to DF. First is finding a full group. This part can take a while if you're DD and queue solo. Now if you have a full group already, DF doesn't have to find anything, so it just reserves an instance. For anything but AK currently, this is practically instant. But with so many people doing AK, there's a wait.

The other main problem is if you get all 4 members through DF and are waiting on the instance, and one of them drops out before, or when, the queue pops, it goes back and finds another player, no problem right? Except once it does, it places you back ad the end of the line for the instance reservation. This part can take 20+ minutes.

Full group 4/4 are taking 1 hour. Need more duty finder servers.

Has SE said anything about this issue yet?

Really all that needs to happen is they need to spread out myth drops to other instances. When 99% of the server is all lining up for the same instance it's going to fill up quickly. If those numbers were split between 3-4 instances we wouldn't be having these problems.

1 HOUR waiting to find group, 55 mins to reserve duty. This is garbage. It will only get worse as more people hit 50.

The truth is that it's not anymore a "dps issue". A good part of players created summoner, which can easily turn into scholar to improve their duty finder. I did, however while I find party in 10 minutes, I loose around 30 minutes reserving instance.
And it gets worser during night because of this terrible handling (eu with na), basically filling up servers the entire time.

Yea, SE is waiting to see how many paying customers they will have, but they won't have paying customers in this way. I have to pay 12€/month for a game, I expect it to provide a TOP QUALITY SERVICE, no matter what, otherwise simply I won't pay, as a lot of people will do so.

Exactly this. I made a party on my own server, put us in queue, and waited forever before giving up. There are too many people accessing that instance or server group or whatever. I was able to get into Ifrit, Titan (story), and Sunken Temple of Qarn with no problem.

I stopped playing FFXIV around 3 days ago after realizing that once 50 there are only two dungeons from which to get gear for the "real" end game content. One of said level 50 dungeons I've visited over 20 times and only fully completed it a total of 5 times, the other dungeon I've never made it past the first boss.

I play video games to have fun, not bash my head against a wall for hours on end on a simple 4 man dungeon. I can see 8 player and 24 player raids progressing in difficulty however the 4 player dungeons are just way to over tuned for my tastes and I don't see many "not as good players" making it to level 50, my fiance has no desire to play anymore after her getting stuck on Titan for two days.

You can also toss in the sheer lack of optimizations for the PS3 or some PCs causing serious rendering issues when there is more than 8 players and NPCs on screen at one time, as it stands it doesn't seem like the PS3 version will be fixed and will be used as a "Demo" till they release the PS4 version.

What's the excuse this time? Could they not anticipate that 50 players would be running AK? It's the only dungeon that drops level 60 gear and a decent amount of mythology. How can you put a cap on how many people can be running an instance at once? especially when there is nothing else to do end-game until you're through Titan?

I hate to sound petty but a lot of guilds took advantage of speed runs and got their gear for Titan and have moved onto the coil. How can we even hope to keep up when we have to pull each and every mob on top of hour long queues for the only end-game progression dungeon? Seems like poor planning and design.

I waited for another 20 or so minutes after that, but I finally had to do human things like eat food and I realized I'd just be even more annoyed/livid if it popped when I stepped AFK for a few minutes.

That and they needed to not design the duty finder system so it is "instance specific" where one instance gets overloaded. The damn thing should be designed to handle whatever load of dungeons are being utilized dynamically, some of the networking design decisions in this game are baffling and short sighted.

The thing is, duty finder is implemented to get lesser time when entering dungeons. But then why the hell would we wait for 2hours just to get in an instance to get to the weekly cap.

SE it is pretty common sense to not let people wait to enjoy dungeons if you are asking them to pay.

Se is a big company why the hell do you need to be cheap when it comes to upgrading your instance server. This is so far the only game that lets players wait just to get in a dungeon in a complete party!

currently in a premade party for AK reserving instance is way too long. If it were I solo queue'ing as a dps 30-45mins i understand but SE please explain the process of how reserving instances work for premade parties? This needs to be fixed asap or your going to lose alot of 50's that would be otherwise subscribing. thanks

i think it's because people can't speedrun AK anymore so it takes longer to complete it thus more queue time as a result.

Other people having long runs shouldnt be a problem. Se is just too cheap and greedy to pay for an upgrade in their instance server

Having a full group and queuing for a dungeon for 45min-2hours is unacceptable.

I have never once had to wait for the duty finder ever. Its always INSTANT for me.

Then record yourself queueing for AK, solo or not, then tell us it's instant. Each instance seems to have it's own set amount of instances available, and AK is full almost all the time.

Wow, I hope you won't be running any game ever...or anything really, if your solution to bad service is: "hey, let's continue with bad service and eventually people will go away and it will be ok".

Anyway, on topic: I have no idea what SE is doing, but it's a shame. It's almost like they have a comittee for bad decisions. I mean, who would've thought that most people at endgame will go do the one of the few instances it's worth doing at lvl50...such a surprise, shock even.

I hope everyone is keeping in mind:

Server hardware is expensive.
They have far far more people than anyone anticipated imaginable playing. (I believe it was stated it was an unprecedented amount).

To put it into perspective:
If you plan a party at your house, and expect 20 people to show up, you may buy enough food for 30 people (to be on the safe side). But if 100 people show up, there are going to be some hungry mouths! Obviously you would not buy enough for 100 as that could be a lot of waste!

Same here, servers are not cheap, and can't be 'returned' if bought too many. If they went to far extreme (all analysis expect 100k, and they decided to spend enough to support 400k, and ended up having only 100k as predicted), that would be a LOT of lost money (which could be better spent elsewhere).

There is no easy solution, and unfortunately, unlike many other online businesses, it was a spike from 0 to 300k in one month, rather than a gradual increase over year(s), to allow for better prediction and planning.

This is discouraging, pathetic, inept and just downright stupid with this duty finder wait times...since yesterday Ive been able to do CM one time...ONE TIME!!! after hours of wait time......

SE we told you, WE TOLD YOU!!! TO beta test this game more but you guys just didnt listen because of your attitude of the way you guys do things (asian company) and this is the result...come sub day this will cost you.

I spend alot of time working on the many other classes this game has to offer. I got my Bard to 50 and have been que'ing for Ifrit trying to get the dang bow, which i have not seen in over 35 tries. but im working on my lancer and a tanking class. fishing, cooking. for me their is plenty to do.
